  1. Aint got a sodding clue, got it from PC World. I'm running at about 300w anyway so have plenty of extra room. Yup, I got PCI-E, only one slot but that's what my current graphics card is using.
  2. My comp's pretty up to date because I have to keep it up to date for working with - 4gb Ram installed (3gb running,) AMD Athlon Dual Core 6400+, M-Audio 2496 Soundcard, 500w PSU. Currenty have a 512mb ATI Radeon x1550, which isn't enough to run most games. I'm looking to spend around about 80 quid tops, preferably from Ebuyer or Overclockers. I basically want something that can run CoD4, Dragon Age, Oblivion and Fallout, etc to a decent standard - above minimum graphics. I'm running a single 19" LCD. Any suggestions? I've been recommended a card from the Nvidia 9800 bunch but getting a second opinion, naturally. :) Had a look at this... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173760

^^ Yeah, I heard that 3D does actually make the difference with this film. Looks amazing, going to see it, probably next week when me and the missus have a spare night.
  4. Looking to be an exciting season after all. I completely lost interest to begin with but with Villa 3rd (joint now) in the premier and Blues winning their last 6 games to go from 15th to 7th it looks like we're gonna have a pretty epic bust up soon! hahah. anyone else excited? :)
  5. It's a bit of a daft battle really, seeing as both are licensed to sub-labels of Sony Records. Either this is coincidence or Sony are incredibly clever. Still, fair play. If anything, it shows off the power of the internet - and that we're not all mindless pop-loving drones.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjacfNpitlQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM2cvLKjNZs hopefully this should be enough to get you started. Burial and Boards of Canada are really album-wide artists though so check them out a bit before you judge. the others are mainly individual tunes...

  9. scofff, they're amazing. incredibly digusting and unhealthy, but just immense. worst was a Black Olive, tasted like I'd just popped an abcyss in my mouth. Second would be a chunk of flavouring from Morrison's tomato pasta. Shouldn't have been in there, tasted like dry, fizzy, sweet blood. ergghh.
  10. Sponges. The thought of dragging them across my teeth makes me shiver like nothing else.
  11. Yeah, same. I love the culture in greece and spain. I couldn't go abroad for a week and not go to restaurants/clubbing/touring/shopping etc, would be boring as.
  12. hahah, sad. okay... Basically the reason DRM failed is because Microsoft didn't hop onto the power of online music quickly enough. Apple did with iTunes, that's why it's responsible for so much revenue. DRM was never forced upon anyone, it was microsoft's rather crappy system to encourage legal downloading. These "big media companies" they speak of would be the RIAA, the same company Apple work with to ensure legalities. The reason most children are taught microsoft is because for common tasks, it's the standard. Apple know this, that's why their computers are tailored towards music and video editing. Most skills from these are quickly transferrable onto other formats anyway, so it's a null point. Fast typing is THE most important skill you'll ever need in computing, and both formats use QWERTY. Microsoft doesn't remove support for it's products, the "X" format in Office was created because the old format wasn't capable of what they wanted Office to do. Microsoft have also released compatibility packs for older versions of Office. Not to mention that most software can be run in compatibility mode, making most software backwards compatible and allowing old software to work on a new computer. Anyway, cretinous site. Still, freedom of speech eh?

Yeah, the one where SPOILER the two scientists announce they were the cause. that's the last of this season, season 2 is next.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdUGSxtiqQs&feature=player_embedded trance track of the year according to a friend of mine. sounds alright.
  15. Hmm, might give it a go. Got the stuff to do it, can I not use something double sided to just jam it in there though? or a bracket or something like that?
  16. What kind of feedback? Is it a fuzz, or a hiss, etc? You may need to earth your system...
  17. That's the driver. You have a Realtek sound card, but I cannot discern the model. Realtek will be onboard sound. anyway, this should be quite simple. go to your sound mixer and click recording. choose "stereo mix." then in msn, click Audio Setup Wizard and choose this option when it asks you to choose microphone. It should then send all audio from your soundcard when you record sound, start an audio conversation etc. I can't say for Vent but it'll be a similar process.
  18. It takes months for wine, and weeks for cider, so it's gotta all ferment out and settle...it'll look much more clear and taste much better after that :P
  19. That's EXACTLY what I was going to say... Liek... word for word o.O Super Mario World instead of Super Mario Bros. 3 for me. My Yellow version still works for me. :) All Stars was just all-round amazing. completed every game on there naturally...world has to be the best though, if not, just because of Yoshi and the star levels :) Toejam and Earl here. Used to play it every day. Awesome.
  20. I just made wine from canned fruit and pie filling. Left - Fruit Cocktail Wine (canned fruit) Middle - Summer Fruits Wine (pie filling) Back - Apple Cider (apple concentrate) tasty.
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z0CiLbUvi0 Greatest song ever written. Play it loud.
  22. there's no way you can just "jump into" writing music as such, which is the reason that so many people learn guitar - it's quite easy to shove chords together. Some of the greatest songs ever written use hugely boring and generic chords! Look at Wonderwall...easy stuff, but a fantastic song. There's no better way to learn music than to sit in front of your chosen instrument and learn it bit by bit. Music is complicated but you'll pick it up if you spend the time and effort and most importantly, have some artistic bounds.
  23. Looks gash. I've heard the only good thing is watching it in 3d with the special effects, which don't actually kick in until 45 minutes in...and that the characters are really badly developed and generic. Suppose most of it is how it's based on complete scepticism...still, suppose it's just another "go to the cinema" movie. Bleh.
  24. Hahah! amazing. Glad to that "keyboard invincibility" being taken away from people. I applaud you Jagex. =D>
