Ya, tip it had these a long time ago, and I thought it was fine then, perhaps keep a couple of the major items uncollapsed, but otherwise, I don't much care. Lol, tip it is just about completely split in half, 1/3 like it, 1/3 hate it, 1/3 don't care.

World Switch Active! What about the "World Select" icon?
falconerd replied to hiperjak's topic in General Discussion
Yay, jagex wins again! lol, maybe now a few people will shut up about how jagex never listens to the players. And like people have mentioned in thier debates over swift switch, you still need to wait the 30 seconds for your "profile to be transfered" from the other world, so overall, it won't affect people's transfer times, but it is really nice to be able to switch right inside the java client. Heh, now if only they could implement the new bank... =P (heh there I go again with the complaining) Anyways, Jagex FTW! -
SWG massive update; could it happen in RS?
falconerd replied to lpinkus's topic in General Discussion
This idea wouldn't work in rs. SWG implemented the exp cut-off because people were camping at little stuff to get higher. So they added that to help with their scaling system, ie the higher your lvl the better monsters you can kill and the harder it is to lvl up further. Jagex has already implemented thier own scaling system in the exponential exp system. 270k exp to get to lvl 60, to get from lvl 77 to lvl 78, something around 270k. So because of Jagex's formula, they don't need to implement something like that. And if SWG is changing thier formula that drastically, that implies that they didn't have a good system in the first place. -
Weekly Poll: Why do you play RS in low detail mode?
falconerd replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
This is exactly why I play in low detail as well. As far as I am concerned low detail is better than high detail. Yup, I can't stand the rooftops, and now when I go onto high detail, it seems cluttered. And since they brought music to low detail this past year, I'm happy all around with low detail. -
Jekyll and Hyde - What herbs do you give him?
falconerd replied to Blackspells's topic in Help and Advice
I can confirm, Guams = Strength Potion (4) Tarromin = Attack Potion (4) Irit Leaf = Agility Potion (4) Edit (finally): Harralander = Restore Potion (4) Avantoe = Super Attack (4) Marrentil = Antipoison (4) I'll edit more in when I get more randoms (shouldn't be long, clicking the spinning wheel while spinning flax automatically gives a random (or at least it seems like it)) -
If anyone has seen C I C E R O please let me know. He introduced me to RuneScape 4 years ago at my school. He was a member then if that helps. I just want to say thanks to him for introducing me to this great game.

+1 lol that pretty much sums up my position, except I created mine in Aug 2003

Weekly Poll: What do you think of the Tip.It website's...
falconerd replied to Kiara_Kat's topic in General Discussion
I voted good. For the most part, the site is excellent. For example, moving the coordinates tool and list to the main page, was very helpful. And the saving of which quests you have done is awesome. I like having the databases section on the sidebar, thats helpful. But there is some stuff that has irritated me. One thing is the complete dissociation between skill calculators and planners. There is no way to get from the planner to the calculator, except by going out to the main calculator menu and finding the skill you want again. The two tools are similar enough that they could even be included on the same page with a radio button to switch between the two. But at least add a link to the other. Also I liked the "Smithing planner" that was used to compare the smithing and alching of iron and steel plate armors based on different variables. I personally used that a lot and when it fell into disrepair I made a version in excel for myself. But I would like to have a pretty version on tip.it to use. :) I think it could be improved on and I suggest it have a feature that you can compare the iron and steel plates with any other smithed item based on how many bars it takes and its alch value. Moving on to the items database. It is an awesome tool, but its user interface could use some work, particularly in the compare items feature. Compare items is really helpful, but it is annoying to compare two items and then if you want to replace an item you have to go and start the compare program again and find the item you want to keep again and the new item. So basically chose a new item to compare from the comparison screen. Also, when you select an item to compare, it pops up a new window. If it could be integrated into the page it would be simpler to use. Then a bit more complicated, comparing two whole sets of armor instead of individual pieces. So that you can see the whole armor value and then mix and match pieces. Or not even compare 2, just have an adding feature, similar to the way the barrows sets are displayed in the barrows guide, but have it dynamically generated. Finally, the smithing and construction tables don't have the sidebar next to them. Which is understandable because of the need for the extra space, but the smithing table just has a button to go back to the main site, the construction table at least has the pretty rune tips icon. And maybe add a link to the smithing guide at the top of the table. So overall, very good, but a couple of non-interconnected areas. -
Jungle types should be included in the calculator and planner. People who like the Tai Bwo Cleanup minigame can get a significant amount of wc xp and it would be cool if they could calculate it. I did see that the jungle is included in the guide, so thats good. For your convenience: Jungle Type - Woodcutting level - Yields - XP - XP for repairing fence Light . . . . . . 10 . . . . . . Thatch spars light . . 32 . . 28 Medium . . . . 20 . . . . . . Thatch spars med . . 55 . . 42 Dense . . . . . 35 . . . . . . Thatch spars dense . 80 . . 65

~~~ What P2P Skill Do You Like & Dislike Most? ~~~
falconerd replied to tugrul88's topic in General Discussion
Liked: Construction cause its so useful (danged expensive though), and Herblore, you get herbs from killing stuff you would normally kill anyways and then once you get to prayer pots, the profits are amazing. Disliked: Farming and Agility, so boring for both of them. At least Farming you can take the easy way out and let the farmer watch your crops. Thieving was boring also until I got to master farmers, then I went from 25k xp to 75k xp in one day. :D -
Lol why is it so hard to find snakeskin armours?
falconerd replied to Recruitie's topic in Help and Advice
Green d hide is much better than snakeskin and it doesn't take that long to get from lvl 30 ranged to lvl 40. Snakeskin is mostly used for the boots (cheap ranger boots) and the bandana (cheap robin hood hat). -
Oh heck yes, so much more stuff, better attitude, bigger world... Definatly worth $5 \
-
Runecrafting (too slow xp for all the running back and forth) Prayer (not bad, and darn useful, but still slow as molasses) Agility (too much like being a hamster, tip though, the bike on the blast furnace converts run energy into agility xp \ ) Firemaking (walking back and forth watching your wealth go up in flames (literally) doesn't appeal to me) Mining and smithing are fun cause you can make stuff that you would use, ie throw away armor for wildy, or if you are really high lvl, stuff to sell to people Same with wc and fletch, you're making stuff that is useful Thieving is fun cause its like gambling, (with the right target), ooo what seed will I get this time?!? (Master Farmer ftw!) Construction is not all that boring, expensive yes, but the xp is pretty good for the time it takes, and its so darn useful too (constume room, portal room, various other things held in your house instead of bank)
Just thought I'd comment on these posts way back on page 34 (I'm reading every last post! ;) ) The first one could be reported and he would be perma-banned, racism of any kind is an automatic, permanent ban. And second threatening someone irl like that, thats also a perma-ban. I'm hoping that these two got reported... :?
~~Newer Bank Of Runescape~~ **Updated again 05/15/09**
falconerd replied to Thagern's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I like the text for the lock, unlock, etc buttons better than the pics (well the pics that were there before, maybe if there were better pics... ) I like the extra room that the slot images give, but having everyone pick different images is kind of unwieldy. I think that the images is the best way to go though, it does keep things simple on the server side (storing an index number instead of a long string) Overall though I like this latest version the best (slot images and text buttons (for reference to which version)) Edit: Charity hall seems kind of idealistic but wouldn't work in reality (people making new accounts to get access to the charity hall kind of thing) -
Whats this got to do with Pok̮̩̉̉mon. Is there even a bank in Pok̮̩̉̉mon? Im so confused :( The backpack in pokemon (at least in the later versions like sapphire and ruby) is broken up into sections, one area for potions, one for empty pokeballs, one for "quest" related stuff, etc. (Basically like your idea...) -
Awesome idea, that would help smithing, and even though I'm lvl 70 smithing, it has taken a dang long time to get that high. Maybe it should be like smelting iron is, %50 chance of success kind of thing.
~~Newer Bank Of Runescape~~ **Updated again 05/15/09**
falconerd replied to Thagern's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
well, my first post is somewhere back in the piles and piles of old pages... But first, I'm sure that by now jagex is aware of this, sending them yet another message isn't going to do anything but annoy them. And just by the sheer number of replys on this thread they know that it has lots of support, so you aren't "signing a petition" by sending them more messages. In response to the people whining about how they don't like it, you've made your opinion known and if you are drowned out by all the positive replys from the "vocal minority" then take a hint and shut up. Also this is a perfect example of how a real life poll works, take a small sampling of the whole and generally the ratio between them is close to the ratio of the whole. SO the ratio of people not liking it to the people liking it is something like 2:800, thats like a quarter of a percent, so 99.75% of people like it... thats just about unanamous in my mind... Personally, I have my bank organized as best I can, all my runes together, all my seeds together etc, but it is really annoying having to buy 2 of everything to keep the item "locked" in its place. And if I do only have one of an item its a pain having to replace it into its category. If you really like that messy pile then just leave all your items in the bin slot, no one is forcing you to sort them. Also, everything is customizable, jagex has no say over where you put your items or what the categories are, personalize it however you want, its just that now it stays personalized. Taking an example from programing, it takes a computer (or a human) much longer to look through a big long list from start to end than it does to break it up into distinct groups and only search in a single group or better yet jump straight to a single index that is always set to a single entry. And even if you have your bank organized now, theres still lots of other items in other "groups" that distract you from what you are looking for, and you have to scroll down to find the group you are looking for. There is vast improvement in moving from searching linearly for a group, then searching linearly for your item to optimizing the search to jumping to a slot then jumping to the specific slot reserved for the item you are looking for. Personally I would welcome the better organization offered by this idea. And while the extra click to withdraw something (yes only 1 extra click) may get annoying, but most of the time you are using right click to withdraw all or withdraw x anyways (which is still there). I agree it will take a little while to get used to it, but thats true of any change. Let's stop living in the inefficient past and upgrade to something better! -
Man that looks awesome! I have a feeling that Jagex is working on something like this, they are just keeping it under wraps. And really spamming customer support doesn't help, if they see it, they see it, all spamming does is flood thier inbox with useless messages. And I'm sure they have seen it by now. Jagex has a habit of not letting the players know that they really are listening to the suggestions. But I agree the bank is due for a upgrade, and even if it doesn't look like the version we have come up with, it will be cool and I can't wait. :ohnoes: -
99.9% Completed Security Dungeon Creature Droplists
falconerd replied to Riptide Mage's topic in General Discussion
I have gotten a bunch of drops from ankous and I have never seen chaos runes, got Mith ore (5) noted, and they drop 15 fire runes, and finally I don't think they drop any mith arrows at all. Otherwise everything else looks right
