Monday Poll: Collapseable submenus.

Featured Replies

Hey there, we've got another poll up for you, and this week it will help us make a decision about our site. Go to the main page, and discuss the resultshere.

Edit: Eyehawk posted a quick example of how it would look for me.

It would look something like this, obviously not as crappy, as this was a quick mock up in paint.

I put no opinon(sp) since I have never seen one of them before. Would be interesting to see if it comes out.

Get me a whopper!

Well to be honest, I don't really know what they mean by Collapseable menus, or where it'd be used specifically. I put "No Opinion"

Um, personally, I prefer the navigation the way it is now, it allows you to access all the site features quickly. The collapseable menus would make things look cleaner, but, would make it harder for people who are not familiar with the site to find the information they are looking for.

yeah i also put no opinion. im kinda saying you guys should be more specific. :wall: sorry.

I'm pretty sure tipit used collapsible menus before, then it was taken off and switched with what we have now

i liked the old ones btter :)

yeah id agree with having collapsable sub menus if you add a few of the old links like you had before like the construction planner.that helped quieta lot,now i have to trawl through the guides

Yeah, I think most of us realized that. Bu they should demonstrate and/or say where they'd apply it more specifically.

Could be good, it has advantages and disadvantages.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Personally I like the way things are right now.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

I don't like collapseable menu's if it means that they are closed when entering the site, as that means an extra click.

However I do want collapseable menu's.

21 lag piles, 4 Pjs, 2 Party hat kills, 67 newbs teached.

I really wouldn't like that, to much work and it can be confusing. :(

Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.

Yay! I can vote in these polls now!! \' I never could before. :(

Same, I don't know what these menus are.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

although it would make the page a bit tidier.. i think it would be confusing to new users and it'd be an annoying extra click for everyone else.

I usually use Ctr+F if I want to find something on the menu (like the smithing table, treasure trails and other things I don't use frequently). This isn't possible with Collapsible menus, so I voted No.

When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done.

I put yes, but perhaps it should be integrated when we are truly in dire need of it. Sure, the list is long, but at least everybody can see where everything is. It's when you really have to start scrolling then you may want to consider it.

It's a great idea, but not quite yet.

I think it's fine now. I know how to use it, it works, keep it like this.

I said it'd be good, but then thats 'cause I use tip.it alot, a new player may find it hard to navigate...

I think it is a good idea once more things become added and space becomes more valuable. On a 1280X1024 resolution, all menu items are currently visible.

To cater to the newer players though, all the menus should start off expanded, and then the user can collapse the menus that they do not use as often. (What is collapsed/expanded would be remembered by cookies or AJAX, similar to how the quest DB is saved.)

Also turning the menus into collapseable menus, would not change much of anything compared to how they are now. If you want to see everything still, just keep the menus expanded.

Win/Win both way.

No thanks, it's hard enough to find where some things are located as it is, don't want to not be able to see everything at once.
