Best Way to Get Fit
I am quite sure you are overestimating the general population. The requirements for the US army for the 1.6K (1 mile) is 9 minutes for guys for Class C, 8 minutes for Class B, 6 minutes for Class A (only a select few are able to reach that level). Also, I know I can run slower for longer distances, but I am trying to optimize improvement vs time. I do not have 60 minutes per day to go running 10 miles. Also, 60 minutes of running burns too much calories (in my case, I am at 5.7% body fat already...) Select few? You americans must be pretty damn fat. And it does not burn too many calories. If you want to step up your workout, you NEED to ingest enough calories. The only time you should have a deficient is when you are trying to lose weight. This thread is oscar.

Machines suck. Don't use them. Waste of flippin' time. You'll get more out of a push up than any machine out there. Free weights are the best. :rolleyes: Understand that machines are easier and safer to use for beginners and will help prevent injury if used lightly for a period before moving on to heavier free weights. If free weights are used PROPERLY they are much better than machines.

I went "clubbing" with a bunch of old mates last night, and they played soo much music from the early 90s. It was pretty funny to see all the young kids stand around confused when "Jump" and "Boom! Shake the room" came on :grin:

Skiing/Boarding
I've been a few times, I really loved it. I have pretty terrible balance naturally so I had to really work at it to be able to do simple things. I'm not allowed to go anymore (too dangerous) but 6 of my mates are going to Canada in about 2 weeks for 6 months or so to mostly ski and board :( Soo jealous.

About 350m. That only includes cash, mtk, mtk products to be withdrawn and items that I would consider selling. Much higher if I also include items set aside for skilling and items I will never sell/get rid of.

Did 21k of Fartlek/Interval running (13 miles for those Americans :S) That was about it. Sunbaked, shaved my head.

Unless you have a friend who is willing to show you,or trainyou. I have a friend who's doing personal training at polytech :wink: You get what you pay for. Your friend who hasn't completed a personal training course is nowhere near as good as somebody with 2 masters degrees and twenty years of experience. They won't even be as good as somebody who has completed a course. I'd wager a bet they won't even be as good as the 30 & 40 year old guys you'll find at your local gym. When you look for a personal trainer, you want somebody with EXPERIENCE. Somebody who has worked with all types of bodies, ages, sexes and races for all sorts of different goals. They will be far better for you.

Whether you should buy it or not depends on how much money you can make an hour using other methods. For example, if you can mine 1k essence in an hour, or make enough money to buy 3k essence in an hour, you should buy it. The mining exp shouldn't be considered as in this case, you could just earn enough to buy 2k essence then mine for 20 minutes to make up the experience.

Invest in 2 or 3 personal training sessions, if only just to learn the proper technique and get a few schedules written up. A few people might disagree, but it's worth the money.

I've never actually done more than 12. We usually hang a weight around the legs and just try to do 8. I recently tore my lat though, so I'd be lucky to do 1 :oops:

I play AFL. The clubs take stuff like this pretty seriously, because a single player breaking any rule is enough reason for a sponsor to leave. Could you imagine how unpopular I'd be if I cost my club a multi-million dollar sponsorship by wearing the wrong shoes :shock: So who are you sponsered by? Not Nike. Anything more makes it too easy to identify me and my phone numbers, address, etc

Too right, most teenagers can't put in those kind of hours, that's just what I demand if they aren't going to attend the PT sessions but want to get straight into the local MMA club. Valor is right. Cardio is both your best friend and your worst enemy. Calasthenics (sp? Its almost 1am) are an amazing workout but so many guys refuse to do it.
