Top all time favourite PC games?
Duke. Nukem. 3d.

I cant find any good MMOFPS
Something better? How about anything? Thanks for trying, though. FULL STOP. Maybe you could justify your argument rather than making blind statements. What's so bad about it? I play quite frequently, and besides minor server problems here and there, I can't find anything wrong with it.

music quotes ftw...
That's one of my favorites, everytime I hear the line I smile. Classic.

Christmas Controversies
I can't say that I believe that tradition is always the best course of action, but in this case it's definitely acceptable, and probably is accepted in most cases. Businesses are just afraid of being sued, after all, it is a free country. It works both ways. That's why they won't allow employees to greet customers in any manner involving a certain religion (especially Christmas). I, personally, don't really care how people greet me during the holidays, I usually don't realize the specifics of what's being said anyways, I only really pay attention to the meaning behind what's being said (kind of hard to explain).

Marijuana, why isn't it legalized?
I'd say do some research on it. It's obvious that there's no reason for it to be illegal, but for some reason it doesn't look like the law will be changed anytime soon. I haven't ever done extensive research, but I've seen some theories as to why it's illegal. Oh, and I'm fairly certain that thus far, marijuana's actually been found to be better for you than cigs (not good for you, better for you).

Your Favorite Song?
At the moment I'm really loving the older Kinks stuff, but the answer's always the same on these topics: really couldn't pick one.

Most Beautiful TV Series?
I was actually just wondering why no one mentions Dexter around here. I absolutely love it, it just feels so new and original, and also very much to my liking. One of the best things about it is definitely the music. I think that what it does best is meld drama, comedy and horror, better than any other tv series i've seen.

How many hours do you play games a day/week/month etc?
Xfire's telling me 47 this week, split between CS:S, WoW and WAR. Oh, and 1706 hours lifetime. :wall: Need to get out more.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
Just got this game the other day, and so far I'm really liking it. I'd always enjoyed WoW, but this one seems more like my type of game. Currently have a rank 11 Chaos Marauder, alot of fun in PVP and PVE both. What level did you guys start dungeons at?

Good classic rock/pop, anyone?
Try Crack the Sky, they're kinda a mixture of what you're looking for.

Brisingr!
I really don't think it's fair to compare Star Wars and the Inheritance Cycle, seeing as the Cycle isn't even done yet. Much of the comparison you quoted had incorrect information (at least, from the Inheritance Cycle point of view), and some information has yet to be proven correct. As for the plagiarism of names, is it really that big of a deal if he used a name he had heard of elsewhere and used it in his own work? If that were the case, pretty much every novel ever written would be filled with plagiarism. As for your viewpoints, most seem to be very biased. Also, I don't believe that Paolini wanted the readers to assume that Eragon had mastered the sword after his training with Brom, if so it would seem that he didn't understand his own story very well. I say this because when Eragon arrives in Ellesmera, the elf city, it's clear that many of the elves around him far exceeded his own abilities in swordsmanship. You also fail to mention that his explanation of magic and how it's used is very original and intriguing, and that the mental bond between Eragon and his "flying, fire-breathing horse" is also a great, original idea. Why not just accept the book as it is, and not over-analyze everything? It's meant to tell a story, and it does that well.

District 6
I don't really care for the genre, whatever you'd call it, but for a group of 15 year olds, they sound pretty good I'd say.

iFail
I honestly don't understand what you're complaining about. I listen to music to listen to music. As long as I can hear what's going on in the song, I'm going to be happy.

Maybe the new ones are different, but the sound quality on my 80GB Classic is just fine, by my standards at least.

Brisingr!
Currently reading it...about half way through it so far and loving it. I thought the last two were awesome, I'm not really sure why so many don't care for them. Kinda sucks that we have to wait for a 4th now, though.

General Guitar discussion
2008 American Standard Strat [hide=][/hide] That's my guitar, same color and same fret board. I love it, awesome sound and it plays really nice. I use gauge 10 Fender Bullets on it. I also have a Brian May Red Special, which I also really enjoy, but...I like my Strat better. :) As for acoustics, I have an Ovation and a Mitchell 12 string. My amp's a Vox AD50VT, 50w. And what I'd like to get... [hide=][/hide] But that's not gonna happen for a while.

The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos Of All Time
Eh, couldn't really agree with the list. Lazy should've been higher up, at least higher than Highway Star. Stairway to Heaven definitely deserves a place in the top ten, but probably not number one...Freebird should've been around the mid-20's. I kept hoping for Yes, and I wasn't really disappointed by Starship Trooper, but Clap would've been a much better choice, or maybe Mood for a Day. 21st Centruy Schizoid Man definitely deserved a higher spot, and Working Man should've been in the top 10...that's about it as far as my concerns go. Oh, and Kurt Cobain shouldn't have been anywhere on the list.

the best guitarists ever?
You are correct, and there is a reason no one has yet. No one's said B.B. King yet because I doubt the majority of posters understand what makes a guitarist good *points to the above quote*. They just assume if he plays fast he's good; if he plays slow he sucks. I'm really surprised I haven't seen more Herman Li votes.... :wall: B.B. King wasn't mentioned because he's not a technical guitarist. To be honest, I don't think he knows much about the guitar past the pentatonic scales, but that's all he needs to play what he feels. As far as the blues go, sure, he'd be up there. But when it comes to who is the best guitarist, I don't think he should be near the top. There's more than one thing to look for in a good guitarist, and the best would have to be able to convey emotion through playing and be able to play technical stuff, which is definitely hard to find in any genre of music.

Counter Strike
I found a TF2 Surfing server the other day if you're interested. :P It... was odd. I...am interested. -.- Surfing's alot of fun if i just want to play in a more relaxed way. I'm also pretty good at it. :twss:

the best guitarists ever?
I know that I wouldn't consider him to be on the same level with some of the others. He used and made famous alot of cool techniques, but I definitely don't the he'd be near the top for "the best".

John Fogerty concert, Im going to have to change my location
Mmmm, Creedence. Who'll stop the rain's one of my favorites. I'm actually listening to Bad Moon Rising right now. I really should listen to CCR more often...wish I could've been there with you!

Counter Strike
Yea man, you should come play in a regular game sometime with me. ;) GG's fun for a while, but a good 24/7 d2 is definitely a good change of pace if you get bored.
-
Counter Strike
I play Source mainly, though from time to time I'll get on 1.6 because I think it'll give me a good change of pace. I get owned and decide to go back to what I'm good at. You can add me and just send me a message if you wanna playe sometime. It's Dragoncun, or THEDukeNukem

the best guitarists ever?
Toast. ILU Insanely for saying Jimmy page. No one can play a two headed guitar quite like jimmy. The only thing different about playing a twelve string and six string, and playing a double necked guitar is that with the double neck, they're in the same place. It's merely there for convenience, not as a test of skill or anything like that.

the best guitarists ever?
I don't understand your reasoning here.....so you're saying that a bad guitarist who knows how to make things sound good is a better guitarist then someone who has unimaginable skill but is bad at writing music? You're comparing music writing ability with raw guitar ability, I don't think that's fair. Well you can't exactly say which is actually better, but think about it. If you take guitar lessons, chances are your teacher is a whole hell of alot better than many mainstream guitarists today, but they're not the ones out there making all the money are they? It's a damn shame, but the only successful ones are the song writers with a bit of skill, not the extremely skilled with no song writing ability. Of course, if you have both *ehem* (Jimi), you're gonna make one hell of a musician.
