Snare for mages, Warriors+Rangers something new!
Outsanity replied to shin-adam's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I think that in order to even consider this, there would have to be a limitation. Just as mages have to PAY for the spell, rangers and meleers should have to pay for the attacks. Perhaps a special that uses up 100% of your bar, or maybe we could introduce special weapons that have a certain amount of charges...lets just say 10. You can use these 10 in intervals of 1 minute's time. (every 60 seconds you can paralyze your opponent for 10) but after the 10 charges are up, you have to pay to get them charged again. Just a thought... :? -
Ok...I'm first off going to say, that in by reading your post, you only caused me to (honestly) laugh out loud. That was such a load of crud you just posted. Here...I'll post reasonings and tips that will help you actually speak in a mature discussion, with thought actually being placed into every post. 1. No...I did not just read the first sentence and "go berserk" like you accused me of. I not only adressed that first sentence, but also evaluated the entire post in other paragraphs. Anyone with even a quarter of a brain could be able to see that. 2. Calling me a "noob" only proves your immaturity and lack of vocabulary. 3. Yes, you are complaining. I believe when you wrote your previous post in all caps you kind of passed the line between acceptable posting, and immature spamming. 4. I am not complaining, I am trying to enlighten and state my thoughts in the process. If you're going to keep up with a conversation with me, do not post that I am flaming/spamming/complaining, and then go do it yourself. It's not very becomming of a person. 5. You may be right about the ads, but I assure you, the money they make off of those ads does not come even close to surpassing the amount of money they are making through members. And if it's really a problem...I am sure many members would go open up a free world window just to help jagex out a bit and pay the 5 dollars a month also. That's more than any free player could contribute. 6. Even in hypotetical speaking, Jagex is never releasing 200 Million gp items (especially more than 28  ) into free player worlds. And even if they did, to solve your whole drama of the bank thing, simply do this: Drop the rare items, they won't be available to click for other players until at least a minute is up. In that time, open your bank, withdraw some items, then drop those out of your inventory, and sucess! Grab the rare items and be on your damn merry way. 7. I have not repeated myself. Any person with more than a gradeschool education can see that in every one of my statements, I have added more and more useful and novel ideas and thoughts. So though to the people who do not actually read posts, I can see why your brain would deem it "the same." 8. Use proper english in your posts. If I am going to take you seriously, you're going to have to feed more thoughts into your post other than "pwned," "noob," and all capital letters. Calling someone childish and then using grammar like that is only just ironic. That is all. We'll see how mature your response will be, if you even consume the time to respond at all.

Not only what the above person said, but the idea of summoning is the biggest load of crud I've seen in ages. I'd place it right down there next to farming.
-
Personally...I don't think this OR the colour idea is necessary, nor would I want it if it were available. It would just cause mayhem, and besides...we need different colours because of the yellow "disease" and the green "poison" damages.

Number 1 appears broken to me. :?

The Morality Of Zaros Final Arguement
Outsanity replied to archimage_a's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
This is very pathetic of you. This isn't a discussion. You're turning this into a "I know what I am talking about, and there's no way you can prove me wrong, but I'll be amazed if you try" type of topic. Other than flaming, I see no future for this. And by flaming, I mean, even if someone DOES have proof against your theories, you're going to get angry and start flaming them. You do it all the time, so I see no hope for the future of this topic. (A better way to go about doing something like this, would be to make a topic that said "Do you think Zaros is evil? (POLL)" rather than a "I bet you can't prove me wrong" post. That's so arrogant, and I'd laugh extremely hard if you ended up being wrong, since you've now brought the spotlight upon yourself) -
There'd be like 4, same as the wizard's house...and it'd only save a minute or so of walking time...HARDLY enough time to gain even 3 or 4 extra logs an hour.

First you say we're being idiotic for telling you guys that you're being ridiculous for wanting all the updates, when you just want extra bankspace...but then you say that WE don't know understand about it because we're p2p...in my honest opinion, all you're doing is being hypocritical. Now, don't even say we don't understand...because we do. We were ALL once f2p, and had that SAME problem...however...as you play p2p longer you tend to mature your thoughts on the subject of f2p and what they should or shouldn't get. I look at f2p, and just see whining people. Want to know WHY I personally could care less about your "horrible bank space?"...because I had it too. And guess what I did to help correct the situation. Bought members. When it all boils down to it, it comes to this thought: Either stop complaining and just buy members to get what you want, or stop complaining and be thankful for what you get for FREE. Either way, just quit being obnoxious and posting all these "Our lives are so unfair...we have to pay 5 dollars like everyone else just to get updates!!! *gasp*" topics. It's only tiring the rest of us, including your fellow f2p players who AGREE you're being childish about the subject. Buy members, even for a month. Play it for that month, then come back and tell me if you have the same opinions for as to what f2p players should and should not get.

I like the bacon idea (mmm...bacon...) but hotdogs...meh... *spam* "I shall call him mini-pig" *spam*
-
Yep. It's understood that many players are exclusively f2p with no interest in becoming members, but many of them are interested, or else they're thinking up a plan to get the five (or so) bucks :) JAGeX is now used to that profit, and it will probably continue to grow. If Outsanity and I keep agreeing like this, we should probably go PKing together. Oops, we don't PK. Castle Wars? :) lpinkus *Is cracking up* Sure sure...right after tea. ;) But wouldn't that be halarious if we, the most anti-pkers of all, actually *gasp* pk'ed...lol On topic: Members = Money = Updates Free Players = No Money = No Updates Honestly...should have just said that in the first place and saved myself some time. Now...if you need me, I'll be having tea at Castle Wars.
-
I said 3 or 4 magic trees...and the bank would only be closer...that would be the ONE advantage. All it would do, would save MAYBE 1 minute's walking time per load of magics...and maybe weed out some of those childish people who like to drive me nuts when I am trying to cut trees that they have never even SEEN before.
-
Cardsfan, Mages, even on f2p, can almost always take down a meleer if they have brains. Not saying you don't...but...you know. Now, I entirely agree with Lpinkus here. You ask us "Why don't we get updates?" Well...we can turn around and say "Why should you get updates?" You don't need them, you're not hindered from making money in any way, shape, or form, and Jagex has no reason to do this. It would only LOSE them money. The more member things they introduce, the less need there will be for members. I mean, think of this: If 2,000 players of the free worlds would ONLY join members just to get fletching, but then fletching was released as f2p, Jagex just lost upwards of 10,000 dollars. Catch my drift now? :?
-
Personally, in my honest to god opinion, it needs to be 75+ to get into it. I mean, if you're going to have a bank upstairs, put like 3 or 4 magics on the main floor along with 5 or 6 yews, and a few maples and willows too. But yeah...75, because 1.2mill exp is NOT hard at all to get with Woodcutting, and usually the more serious woodcutters move onto 75, while the less serious ones don't. :?

mages are definitely less advantaged pking wise. rangers and even meleers always have b dragon on to fend off mages and the mages get owned by everyone so the mages should have this. That is ENITRELY untrue. Mages not only can do decent damage and attack at the same speed as meleers, but they also have the added effects of entangle, multiple target spells, healing spells, teleblocks, and stat reducing spells. The point of being a mage is to render your opponent helpless. The point of being a ranger is to be a *bit* safer from mages, and have an advantage of speed and distance. And the point of being a meleer is to conteract rangers, and for having really strong attack bonuses. Basically, meleers are powerhouses, mages are immobilizers, and rangers are speed demons. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, but I think at the moment, Jagex IS doing a fairly decent job keeping them balanced. Obviously in certain sitations one group might have a clear advantage over another, but what fun would it be if they were 100% equal all the time? There's no fun in that.
-
Good idea. I like it, and when used with full Mystic, you'd still have a positive magic attack. I know this is entirely off, but lets say full mystic (without a staff) give around 60 magic attack. Using this "speedy" magic weapon, you'd be reduced of around about 20 or so magic attack bonus, but your speed would double. This way, you'd only have 40 magic attack, but you'd hit twice as fast. I like it in all honesty...but I'm still not sure whether it would make mages TOO powerful.
-
Still entirely vague. Please...if you're going to suggest a new quest with these things...tell us what would be involved. What do you need to do? How do you need to do it? What's the reward (in detail)? Where would it take place? Why would we need/want it? Etc etc etc...

This idea has potential, and, like Bubs, I feel they're looking into it. However, the deal about the text appearing above your head won't cut it. The screen would be flooded to the point of not being able to see. So, if there was a little "shop" as you say, you could list what you're selling. Then, buyers could click and open up a window that lists the sellers and what's being sold. Pretty nifty, eh? lpinkus yes, thats also a good idea but about the flooded screen, i dont think theres a problem with that, just add ur name in ur selling text like everyone does now. No, bonzaii...what Lpinkus was trying to say, was that the screen would be so overly flooded that it would block view of mostly the entire screen. You couldn't see other people well, nor would all the texts appear entirely. It would just be utter chaos. Ever been to World 2 Falador? Yeah...it'd be like that....but in EVERY world.

so true, why just the other day while outside getting the mail, i saw the mailman 3-iteming while wearing his phat, so i pulled out my trusty dragon long and red barred him before the noob teled, i was so mad :x but seriously i feel the same way, and jagex would not make as much money if people could beat the game, so theres no chance of that happening, the closest thing runescape has to a storyline is the plague city quests, and learning about the 3 gods Hehe...ok, ok...so maybe it physically doesn't resemble the real world...but the metaphorical aspects of it do. As Lpinkus and some others had said, you can go out, do something, decide to switch to something else, and never be roadblocked. It's like if I went to go get some food from the kitchen. I could take out some chips, eat one, and decide I want something else. So then I reach in the fridge for a sandwhich. Bad example, I know...but what I am saying, is that with Runescape, freedom is everywhere, and you're *mostly* not restricted to doing one thing.

Interacting With Furniture, Should We?
Outsanity replied to -Til_Galind-'s topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Yeah, and perhaps depending on where the houses are located, etc, the drawers can be used as a way to access our banks. Tables, as they are now, could be used to place things on, only, in your house it wouldn't disappear and no one else could take it. Beds/Chairs as you said could restore energy at a faster rate. -
There is no "level" I have gone to, Jackalope. I have read Crim-Nimora's posts and I *did* in fact see that he said it was a bad idea...after everyone came on and told him it was. He's passive. He came on with an idea, and once everyone shot it down, he backed away and requested a lock on his topic, because he is finding it difficult to defend his opinion. If he truly didn't mean what he said about us being raving diseased "impressional" people, then he wouldn't have said it all in the first place. It's as simple as that.

If they can't afford an extra 5 or so dollars a month, then what the hell are they doing with a computer with internet access, hmm?
-
19*2 isn't 28 dude, its 38. And they arent gonna get any better arrows. It was a typo, Crim. Next time you attempt to insult my intelligence, try to think of a logical excuse as to why I might have missed the number by one digit.
-
No, you're wrong indefinetly on Number 1. Think of this: Is that number after "Next Level At" the amount exp you STILL need for the next level, or the overal exp you need for the level? Exactly. By saying "Next level until," you're only pushing the extremeties of the odd sounding nature even further. Since you don't need 13 million MORE exp to get from 98 to 99, it shouldn't say "until." I think you're just trying to pick at something that is a pet peeve...and if Jagex tried to fixed pet peeves for everyone, not only would it take forever, but fixing one peeve could cause someone another. Now, to your "All" option, I agree it'd be ok...but this makes me a bit mad. Why when this dude posts it does it get recognition, but when I make the statement, I get told it's irrelevant and to just "press the x button and type in a number" The rest are ok ideas...just...kind of not really needed more than some other things, in my opinion.
-
Oh shut up, Crim. You're an idiot, not only because you're trying to post this on a forum where mostly EVERYONE loves and plays the game, but you're also trying to put words and ideas into people's heads that are not true. A disease? A freaking disease? Hello, I have a damn life outside Runescape. I'm in musicals and choir performances at school, have a job, have a girlfriend, and have other obligations. I might be a quicker leveler than most, and there may be days like SOME weekends when I CAN waste 10 hours away on RS, but that does not make me obsessed, and I certainly don't feel ill... A freaking disease...what a laugh. I might have to go visit a psychiatrist now because my mind is filled with impurities and devilish ideas. (Or maybe for some evil impurities such as these, an excorist might suffice)
