Are you TRYING to make this game unfair and horrible? Stop trying to introduce over-powered suggestions! Just...no.

Do we place too much emphasis on combat level?
Outsanity replied to Smokie's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Personally, I tend to judge people more on their actions and what they say. I sometimes will be able to look at a person and say "Oh, they've got full dragon, so they probably know a lot about making money in this game, etc etc." However, I am combat 95, so I know being high combat doesn't make you a god. Therefor, I also know that being a high level doesn't automaticcaly exempt you from being "a noob." If there wasn't the whole "do not name" policy here, I'd tell you right off the bat of a few level 117 and 116 noobs I know from my experience woodcutting...they're worse than most level 3's I see on the street in f2p. -
Archimage...no. We don't fear change, and you're quite simply, an idiot. Jagex makes this game as balanced as possible. If we introduced these types of staves, not only would the appropriate runes falls desperately in price, but runecrafting wouldn't have much of a purpose anymore. On top of that, haven't you noticed that NONE of missle or stat reducing runes DO NOT have staves? That's because it's the way Jagex made it, and wants it, and it will stay. You're acting like an oblivious child, who knows no more than what it wants. You say it's a good idea because it would be cool and you just want them...but that just proves your lack of sense and sanity. Grow up. In the real world you actually have to GIVE logical reasons as to why something should be added. Just simply saying "because it'd make my life easier, is not an answer."

/\/\-=The Word OMG Should Be Censored!!!=-/\/\
Outsanity replied to woopidoo2's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Dude...I may not agree with the fact that "oh my gosh" uses the god's name in vain...but all you did there was slander the entire religion. I never said the religion was a screwed up one...I just simply said that some things people take too literally because they have nothing else to waste their time to complain about. You, quite simply, stepped over the line between sensible and insane. -
Sounds GREAT! ...almost as great as the amolet of wilderness... In other words: No.

/\/\-=The Word OMG Should Be Censored!!!=-/\/\
Outsanity replied to woopidoo2's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Do note that most of the people who say "OMG" happen to be christian themselves... It's irrelevant. They're just being ignorant. If there is a Lord, a God - I think it would be in your best interests not to insult him. Yeah, I guess - but keep in mind 'gosh' is just a form of "God", and both mean the same thing. Unless there's another meaning for the word gosh... but I can't think of one. Who's to say they're not? Either way, putting any god's name in vain, is disrespectful to whatever religion it coheres to. I know the author was speaking about Christianity in specific, but a general point could be made here. That's fairly selfish. Just because it doesn't affect you, doesn't mean you can use it however you want - it affects others, and it just isn't kind to ignore that. I see no problem with removing a phrase that offends people - it's not like atheists actually get anything out of using it, and so I wouldn't see a problem with taking it out - since the phrase has no positive practical uses anyways. I guess you really don't know much about Christianity (judging by this post) - so I guess you shouldn't make flippant remarks out of ignorance. Apparently atheists using his God's name in vain is trashing his God/religion, and I agree with him. He's not showing weakness at all, he's taking a stand for his beliefs - something that rarely happens nowadays. He stated nothing about him having trouble following his religion. Look, you can try to twist my words in whichever so way you please, but it will not escape the fact that the form of "Oh my gosh" just doesn't mean "Oh my god" anymore. Plenty of people use it as a term of disbelief such as the French phrase "bof!" or "Oh la la la la!" It is simply a term that unfortunetly many people now-a-days use as a scapegoat for their lack of "true" religion. They think that by complaining that it is bad they are being good Christians, but in reality I'm sure their god wouldn't care if others used it around them...just as long as they themselves did not say it. I mean, honestly...if it's THAT bad, just do not use it. You don't have to go around taking away everyone elses freedoms just because you think the word "gosh" is besmirching an entire religion. Now, for lack of intelligence on your part, my entire family is heavy Catholic. So...trust me, I know the religion pretty well...I just don't follow it. That is my decision though, and if that is a problem for you...tell it to someone else. -
This is a medieval based game is it not?

Just as long as jagex doesn't introduce sticks of light that slice off body parts in one swipe...I'll be fine. -

Outsanity replied to woopidoo2's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
It isn't a problem, considering the three following things: 1. Who's to say that by saying "Omg" that they are saying "Oh my god?" They could be saying "Oh my gosh." 2. Who's to say that even if they are talking about "god" that they are referring to your god? That seems pretty selfish in it's own sense, as you're basically saying that any god that is talked about is the Christian "God." 3. Some people, such as myself, have no religion, or different religions, and do not care that the specific phrase "omg" is being used. I couldn't care less, quite honestly, as my beliefs are different that yours. If Jagex changes this because you say so, what about the other millions of people who don't agree with that religion? I mean, if you were mature, and it offended you, then you just simply wouldn't use it. I just suppose we'll be all the the ones going to hell, now won't we? As a side-note, I think that you bringing real life religion into a game is completely idiotic. As long as no one is blatantly going around trashing your god and/or religion, you shouldn't have a problem with it. I mean, all you're doing is showing weakness, and that you're having trouble following your own religion because others "misuse" it. -
Or...maybe it's because all of your posts are idiotic, would ruin the game, are inpractical and in 376 tries I haven't seen you string together one coherent post? Dude...you beat me to it...damn. -.- Honestly...when have I EVER agreed with even 10% of your ideas and thoughts in the first place, archimage?

A problem with herblore (and combat)...
Outsanity replied to Onanica's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Leave herlore as it is. It is not broken. Unless you want ranarr weeds and prayer pots to be worth like 1k. Honestly...I think you're just upset because it's not an easy skill to level, which in that case, I'd just say deal with it...I do. :? -
The Morality Of Zaros Final Arguement
Outsanity replied to archimage_a's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
You just bumped a two-week old arugment, and probably just reignited it in the process also. Congrats. -
And you say I complain? Yes, I do; and I also believe that everything you quoted up about 3 posts is just taking this conversation back in an interweaving circle of monotony. Honestly, did you comprehend any of what Bubsa, Raichase, or IceArrow4 said previously? It does not matter which part of members it is, whether it's old updates, new updates, big or small...giving free players more space would take AWAY from members. See, your logic is that "Well they have 100 (off number, yes) and we've got 40! So if we just get 5 more spaces, they'll still have 100!" Yes, all fine and dandy. But using sensible logic, that means we're paying now for 5 LESS bank spaces a month, and you're getting 5 MORE free spaces for all eternity. The only way I could see you getting 5 more, is if we got 10 or 11 more. It needs to even out, and I'll be quite frank...I don't think the free servers as a whole deserve anything else to this nature anyways. I'm going to be very straightforward with you, here, Elimist5000. If you are going to post in response to someone in an argument, you're going to need to see both sides of the argument, and THEN decide which one makes more logical sense. IceArrow's, X-Arcade-X's, and myself's scenarios are very logical, and all represent the very same attitude you have presented and bestowed upon this topic. If you can't compare the two, then clearly you've got some serious schooling to still go through. Sorry if that sounds harsh...but honestly. They couldn't have been more clearer if we had smacked you with them written on a piece of paper. I'm going to say I am safely through with this topic (for now). I have said all I need to say, and if you, Elimist5000, still can't understand why 6 or 7 people all disagree with you, then me staying here is only going to waste my valuable time. I'll only return if someone presents a completely new topic, which, at this point, I think is highly doubtful. Elimist5000, if you feel the need to flame this, retort in any slanderous way, or mock me behind my back, I honestly won't care. Do all you wish; as your opinion on this topic really doesn't interest me any more. Had you kept it going with more fact and reasoning, things might have turned out differently. And P.S. Take my word of advice, and don't conveniently make up friends just to use as a false argument. I am sure many real coders on these forums would be able to tell you why servers cost money to upkeep.

I mean this in the sincerest possible way, I swear...but could anyone else quite grasp exactly what this post was supposed to mean? I mean...I got the general gist...but the grammar and sentence structure was just...way too off for me. Sorry... :(

Yes! Wonderful idea! I absolutely agree! And afterwords, lets put the nature altar, rune essence rock, and a bank RIGHT SMACK next to eacother. And since we're going in that direction, let's put a magic tree right in the middle of a bank, and perhaps 3 or 4 rune rocks next to that. Also, let's make it so that the fish you catch just LEAP right into your bank from where you're standing, so the pain and agony of the idea of walking all the way to a bank is depleted. -.-...please, think before you post.
-
Finally we've got someone who can make sense into everything that has attempted to be said. Both of you hit it right on the dot. (Though I highly doubt this will stop Elimist5000 from asking for free bank space)

for magic with magic lvl being equal to opponents str or watever u wanna choose f2p: lvl 110 using magic vs 110 meleer in full rune w/scim who has the higher max hit? meleer max hit is higher lets see the mage use bind hmm how many shots can he get off on a meleer before the time runs out? 1 usually, 2 under lucky circumstances members: lvl 110 using magic and 110 meleer who has the higher max hit? meleer can max out higher, but not by much lets use bind/snare/entangle/ice spells how many hits can he get off on a meleer with ice burste? 3 ish how many with ice barrage? more than enough so hmm, even though the mage can beat the meleer on f2p, he still doesnt have anywhere near the advantange he should have as in members So buy more nature runes, and cast bind, then attack, cast bind, then attack. If you don't have enough money to do so, you shouldn't be a mage in the first place. Simple as that.

That pretty much sums it all up quite nicely. :D

Here we go again... More destructive-criticism from Outstanity yet again! Like I have told you many, many times: for some people, five dollars a month is not an option. But I do not realisticly think that this is likely to happen anyway. I have to agree on you that raising to level 85 crafting is not only boring, but the only things you can make with F2P crafting end at leather armour... On a different note, Ishbar, very well thought out post, but diamonds really cannot be moulded just like metal. There are more of a stone. But the idea seems pretty well thought out anyway. Good job! Thanks, Elimist5000 The only thing I can do is laugh at this post and give you this hypothetical statement: You want to buy a pizza at a pizza place, which costs $10.00, but also want to buy a drink, which cost $2.50 more. However, you only have $10.00...I don't think the pizza place is going to give you a free drink just because you don't think it's fair that people who pay for drinks get drinks. I mean...how stupid and illogical does that sound? Exactly. Same case with Runescape. If you can't pay, quit whining, and move on. It's not like getting Runescape members is going to decide life or death on your part. Just go outside and play sports, ride a bike, or talk to friends. Entertain yourself in other ways if Runescape free worlds are seriously depressing you this much.

...Wow... Now who doesn't beleive in what they are debating! As a famous RuneScape player-killer once said: 100% agree. I am F2P and haven't been to the games room (for obvious reasons) but from what I have heard (and not just in this post), it's not very popular... Not sure if that was supposed to be a low shot to me or an agreeing statement...but either way, it's a well known fact that quoting what other people say in different boards and bringing those attributes into other conversations shows your lack of creativity and tactfulness, not to mention that you can't just let things go and admit your faults. Honestly... Now for the third time, I'm saying this is a good idea, and wondering when we can get a petition started for it. I'll even send it into jagex if we can get enough signatures. :D
-
This board is getting no where...but none-the-less, here I am with a sack of popcorn and a pack of chocolate covered raisins. *Ahem* Anyways...no, you didn't discover it, and no, it isn't new. Plus...in the time it takes you to sell all those cabbages you could easily make like 5 times more money just runecrafting natures through the abyss. Plus...you have to subtract the cost of the diamond, so in reality you'd only get 22k or so per 27 sacks. I win.
-
I think that might be pushing it a bit too far. After all, opening up another window and checking the high scores that way isn't really much of a hassle. I can look up someone in less than a minute's time. :?
-
Karils still is pretty good, and I think that rangers don't really need anything else, seeing as how they can hit 38 or so in 2 turns. (And two turns for a ranger are equivalent to 1 turn of a mage or meeler.) I did like HOW these would be obtained though. Most people say "Oh, let's introduce dragon smithing to get them!" You took a different, more original approach. Still I'm saying no on this one. =-\
-
I agree meleers should...but rangers already have multi-combat Rune Axe Specials. I agree they should make something less strong, but that attacks 100% multi. Who knows...maybe they will...maybe they won't. I am a meleer through and through, and I could honestly care less anyways. :?

Free worlds can't use Dragon armor or weapons, so the "gap" between them shouldn't really even concern you...unless you plan on buying members. Now, whilst some of the other ideas were grand, on the whole I think most of the population (including many, many free players) would agree that the f2p worlds should not get this huge of an update. If you give them something to make at level 85 crafting, then they'll be training for nothing until that level. Just, (and please don't flame back to this. There's been enough arguments on this subject already), buy members and use the updates it offers. I mean...what do you honestly expect to get update wise from a free world, anyways?

Four things: 1. I am probably more mature than you will ever be. 2. I am one of the smartest people in my class and the one above, many people say that about me. 3. I will admit that it was somewhat immature of me to post in all caps. 4. I used words like "pwned" and "noob" because i don't like to use lots of big words that confuse some people. And this is a RuneScape site, is it not? So i feel obliged to use RuneScape slang. Now, to answer your other points: 1. Good point (i do admit when i'm wrong) 2. As a said above, i don't like to confuse people with big words. There are like 10 year old on this site, you know. 3. Spam stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Message. There was nothing stupid or pointless about it (maybe annoying to some though) 4. Where in that post, am i complaining? 5. Owned, LOL (just for you, that means Laugh Out Loud). By the way, there are fewer members than free players, so it is quite possible (considering the ads randomly refresh) that JAGeX earn more from the free servers than the members! 6. I would still be dropping the rare items from my bank... duh! 7. I have read every single post in this topic! And i have read them again... Can't seem to find any new ideas in your last few posts... 8. As a said before, on a RuneScape website, i think i should be able to use RuneScape Slang and not be called a mentally challenged moron who can't get their grammar right. I hope you think this post is worthy of your "supreme intellect". And i never back down from someone who challenges my intelligence. How's that for a "load of crud"? Yeah. That's what i thought, Elimist5000 You say you are more mature than I'll ever be, and prove me wrong, but weren't you the original spammer in the first place? As the person above you stated, posting in all caps is just as bad. It means that you're not truly supporting your idea, and you're insecure whether you actually believe it or not. If you truly 100% believed what you said, there would be no need to shout it in order to get points accross. So no. I highly doubt you're more mature than me. Also, saying your the smartest person in your class is like saying a green balloon is better than a group of green balloons that it's in. What I am saying, is that whilst you may be smart when compared to those certain people the world is filled with much more intellectual people than you, and than me. I could care less about your G.P.A. What I care about it whether you can present yourself in a mature, respectable manner outside of school. After all, the actions and things you do behind the curtains is what determines your true self...not what the audience sees on stage. Now, until you come to me with 100% proof that f2p servers make more money for Jagex than p2p's do, I am going to continuing assuming that particular idea is assanine and false I highly doubt that in that weak little f2p bank of yours, there isn't a single solitary item you cannot drop. Can anyone say hammers, nets, harpoons, cages, tinderboxes, etc? Now, about the grammar thing. "Dumbing-down" your words only shows your lack of knowledge. Whether you're speaking to a 5 year old or a 105 year old, you speak to them with the same vocabulary as with everyone else. All you're doing is catering to the "Runescape slang," which, personally, makes anyone who uses it look like an air-headed moron. Yes, you're correct. I am questioning your intelligence, because hidden within the depths of your previous posts, you have shown nothing but a lack of self-reliability in it yourself. Next time you want to keep up a good, steady, non-spammable conversation, you better actually fully believe in what you are saying first.
