I think most people on this topic are missing the point. Whether or not it is supposed to be linked to real-world topics, Jagex puts these points and plots into the game to add story. I mean, if there wasn't any religion, beliefs, back-history, or opinions in the game, what exactly would it be? One-dimensional, with no personality or flavour? It's added to make the game interesting. That's all.

Oh no! You mean we actually have to be strategical and intelligent in order to play a game? Imagine that...

I agree. Sometimes I wonder what the point of growing magics is also. I mean, you might only get 1 log from the ONE tree, and then once it falls, it takes forever to regrow. Seems pointless to me...but then again, almost the entire farming skill seems pointless.

Yeah, and then ghostly robes would have no use. I think it's fine how it is.

addition to report abuse button
Outsanity replied to willyhenriksen's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I don't think what we need is the ability to explain, but more options. There are many illegal things that players can do, that Jagex still hasn't got the option to select on the abuse screen. More options would be handy, and would save Jagex some time. -
Lol, what is your point? We already knew this, and I doubt it will stop any drop traders from transferring items to their noob accounts. I don't do it, and never have, but I can tell you lots of people know about the rule, and do it anyways. P.S. For the logging out thing, it wouldn't work. I am able to log into the same world on my main and noob account if I want to, so I techincally wouldn't have to log out to get the items from one account to the other. My main point is, is that if you tell someone not to do something, they'll always try to do it anyways. That's people for you...

I'm one of the people typically not too excited about summoning, but if these ideas where adopted and adapted, I actually think it might be something I'd enjoy.

Sorry, but the many payments of $5.00 and the thousands of hours I've spent working on getting the skills, items, and achievements would not be wasted just to add pretty graphics and a combat system (That the pkers like? That seems just a bit one sided...) that would not appease to me, as I am entirely against pking. It isn't worth it, and frankly, the game is quite fine, if not excellent the way it is. I am honestly tired of everyone complaining about the graphics of Runescape. First off, the graphics are great. This is a JAVA game, and I've seen many many other games that have way worse graphics. And Second of all, graphics should not matter to a true gamer. What should matter is gameplay and plot lines, and, of course, the overall excitement rating. I think Runescape includes all of this, which is worth tons more than pretty graphics, any day. So no...no way. To even suggest it is beyond mad. Too many people have spent too much devotion and time building their characters, and I am almost 99% sure they wouldn't appreciate it being taken away because of people who insist on fixing things that are just simply not broken.

No... ...It would need to be reduced to 30 minutes, and the ring should require at least 50 prayer to wield. No offense, but if people could basically have free attack, strength, and defense pots for 15 hours straight without any prayer pot doses or altar recharges, that would make it way too easy. So yeah, 50 (I would personally actually say 60) prayer would be required...and it would need to be hard to get.

Just an idea that would make it easier...
Outsanity replied to moopymitchell182's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
Well, distance and time :) And they're often proportionate to one another. lpinkus Yep. Abyssal Training. 8) Anyways, yes I agree...it'd make it way to easy. This is just one of those smile and nod moments where you accept it like it is and move on with your life. Simple as that. -
Idea for update, right click to bury bones
Outsanity replied to my_pet_worm's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
No, it wouldn't for the higher levels. The best (and basically only) way to level at higher levels is to buy (or get yourself) some high leveled bones and use the ectonfuntus. So the right clicking bones would just make combat a bit fast...but not really by much. I'm in! Add my name: Outsanity -
Might not be the best player as far as exp goes, but, last time I check, he's the number 1 player on the highscores list. Anyways...yeah. I'm not really sure how excited I'll be about carpentry (or, carpetry for that matter) but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If it introduces something useful, I'll like it. If it's just a ploy of Jagex to appease all the "PoH's, pl0x!1!" noobs by introducing useless houses...well...let's just say I'll be "less than satisfied." It has potential, i admit...but lets face it. Jagex hasn't always given every update or skill the creativity and ingenuity it deserves. (Camel trading, anyone?)
-
I would love this also...but you must think...can jagex do this? I mean, it would be a LOT of changing and tweaking that would need to be done...and personally, I'd rather have Jagex spend time getting us better updates then a snow-filled winter... ...just my opinion though, of course.

I'm sorry, but having 800 people on a server is NOT bad at all. In fact, anything under 1000 players on a single server is great conditions for training, etc...in my opinion. Releasing more servers might be needed in the future, but right now, we're more than fine. So there might be a few people at "your" training spot. Well whoop-dee-doo, time for you to spell the coffee and wake up...this game isn't centered around you. You will not always get what you consider "perfect conditions" and you're going to have to learn to live with it. And besides, adding more worlds won't solve much. All it means is that it gives us one more world to become a crowded training spot. As someone said before me, the only way to "solve" this, would be to realease more monsters in different locations.

Yes it would, however, such is the nature and community of RuneScape, you would always find the minority of idiots who abuse this system. And when you think of the more well-known players, they would be bombarded. Thus, they wouldn't know which mail is spam and which is valid. So they'd have to filter through them all. Maybe you could only send letters to people who were on your friends list and you are on theirs. I was thinking the same thing, but a solution to it, as you said, would be to make it like the chatting system. You could have an "On," and "Off," and a "Friends." This way, if you didn't want to recieve any mail, you could turn it off, and if you only wanted mail from friends, put it on friends. Also, to reduce to risk of spamming of mail, you could only have a limit of 50 mail items in your mailbox, and everyone could only send (you could recieve multiple at a time, but not send) one single piece of mail per 30 minutes...this will cut down on noob traders sending mail every 2 seconds saying "Wuna buy muhi ful steel armur fur 20k gpees??1?" If my version of it was introduced, I would be one very happy scaper.

Oooh...you just struck an idea within me! Perhaps, twice every year, jagex can randomly choose a free player with OVER 10 million exp, and grant them free members for a year. I mean, obviously if they've got 10 million exp, they aren't a new player, and they sure aren't a noob...because that kind of exp is harder to obtain on f2p...this, in my opinion, deems them worthy of free members for a year... ...but, as I said, only if it happened to two or so people each year.

Untradeable Leveling Holiday Drops - Should they be next???
Outsanity replied to Atroso's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
archimage posted an idea very similar to this, minus the holiday drop part...and this one is even worse, because holiday drops are already expensive as it is. It doesn't matter how useless the item is...idiots will still buy it for millions upon millions of gold, just because they think it labels them as a "good" player. -
Clearly you haven't thought this through. A weight loss clinic may or may not give out free samples...but if they did, they wouldn't say "Here, take our ENTIRE supply of food so that you can experience the whole thing, and then buy the whole thing for real!" No...they give you a sample of one or two of the foods (maybe) and then ask if you want to try the rest by buying it. If you're too stingy to cough up the money, then they are allowed to be stingy also and not give you more food. I mean, come on...think about what you're saying before you say it. It's like saying that because "only" movie trailers play on television, that they should just let you see the whole movie without going into the theatres and paying to see it...because you're not sure if you'll like it or not. No...I don't think so. If we gave you free members things, you'd say "Oh, well I have all I wanted now so there basically is no more need to buy members" and Jagex would have just lost another 5 dollars...it's all about money. And if you haven't the business to pay the money, then Jagex shouldn't have to have the business to let you in.

Lol...this is exactly the reason why after I got members, I trained runecrafting to get my money and ditched mining entirely. :?

Do we place too much emphasis on combat level?
Outsanity replied to Smokie's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
You are such a liar. The only people currently who are at/over the 1995 skill level total are Zezima, The Old Nite, Lilyuffie88, Kale Stille, Uloveme, Thehate, and S1acker...and they are ALL at least Combat Level 125. Besides...I think it's pretty much impossible to be level 77 with a 1995 skill total. I could be wrong...but I'm sure I'm not staking a complete stab in the dark on that one. -
Lol...rriiight. Because I am the one actually thinkin ahead and using my brain to realize this would mess up the economy beyond repair, I am clearly not thinking... Sometimes I wonder why I even bother with people like you.
-
I'm not even going to argue this anymore. Sometimes I wonder if you and Blaziken stole half of eachother's minds...because you two sure as hell think alike. Call me senseless if you must, but I'm sure the others who read this topic soon will be "just as senseless" as I.
-
 Sometimes I wish someone would just smack some sense into you...in real life. This way you could adapt to not being a moron. Anyways, no, you're wrong. Apparently you're either too young, or too braindead to realize how the Runescape economy works. If this was introduced, the price would NOT stay at a godly price. It would drop in time, and in by doing so, drop rune prices. The more stock that comes in, the less it costs. Eventually, the entire rune-crafting side of the economy (which currently probably takes in the most cashflow) will drop to below useless, and Runecrafting as a skill would be no more. Please, think (with your brain) before you post. Things like this just make me and others cringe due to the lack of organization in your thought process.

Oh sure...having things next to it is being spoonfed because someone else came up with the idea...but when YOU want to add teleporting inventory spells, missle and stat reducer rune staves, and bronze swords that become as powerful as whips, it's ok. Honestly...you're such a hypocrit sometimes. P.S. If gambling is sooo bad, why can we do it with staking battles in the duel arena? This would be no different.
