From the new album, I think the first two sections of "Jesus of Suburbia" (all the bit before "I don't care if you don't") contain the best material on the album. :wink: Favorite member? Eh, not so much. I just listen to the guys, I'm not into learning that much about the guys who wrote and played it. :?

But can't you let fans have a thread in peace? If not, well, doesn't that strike you as being aggresive? Forcing your opinions down the throats of others and saying they have a bogus sense of taste/aesthetic (sp) in music? If you don't see the point I'm making....oh well. I'm not mocking anyone specifically here; I'm just mocking the mentality that you have to specifically seek out something that you don't like and actively express your loathing of it. Can't you just choose to not like it, then move on so that other people can enjoy it without your judgement?

They have enormous egos (real, or put on to make themselves feel better), and they need to satisfy this self-image. Thus, they feel the need to always be the most powerful, the one in control, and they single out anyone they can in order to assert their dominance. It is a way of proving to themselves how great they are and preserving their sense of self-worth. Okay, I'll stop making stuff up now :oops:

I keep my feelings to my self; I'm kind of private and introverted, but not in the least bit shy. I preform on stage regularly without feeling too nervous, and at any sort of social gathering, I am not afraid to open up and joke around. I'm not the life of the party, but I don't disappear to the kitchen, either. Single male, non-smoker, enjoys long walks on the beach...

I don't think anybody has mentioned "Remember the Titans." I would say that it is my favorite sports movie ever, but it transcends that genre so much, it is hard to say that it is a sports movie at all. Powerful. :D I remember vaguely liking the soundtrack, but I don't know if it was anything special or not.

Oh my god... I get two papers at my house. This morning, I opened the first one and saw that one man was found dead, the others still missing. Then the second paper apparently went to press time a little later; it said that the other twelve were alive. It described the scene at the church where relatvies were waiting, and how the bells were ringing and people celebrating when they learned the news... Now to learn that it was all a mistake, the other twelve are not alive after all... It doesn't mean anything to say this online, but I give my sympathies to the families. I can't imagine going through something more terrible than that.

Although I have to admit that I have never heard the expression "jumped the shark," I agree with you about eminem. His first two albums (SSLP and MMLP) were amazing. The Eminem Show was, IMO, just as good, but had a more mainstream sound to it. Encore was pretty much a tired-sounding mainstream album that relied on stupid bathroom humor.

I hope you showed him the "NEW PYRAMID" that our goverment paid millions of dollars to come up with. Because it was necessary and all. Lay off the soft drinks. :wink: Alas, the new food pyramid was not in the first three results of my google image search, so he'll have to make do with the old version. It keeps me healthy. :D EDIT: Well, it keeps me skinny, anyway, I guess "healthy" is debatable... :lol:

Lots of water is definitely important. Also, I recommend the food pyramid: Trying to get exactly the right number of servings is too tedious to bother with, but if you always think about the different food groups and try to get in a little bit of each group each day, you'll probably do all right. And like someone said, stay away from overly-processed foods. I eat as "naturally" as possible, without making a religion out of it.

By "solo," he means one instrument playing absolutely alone, not even as part of a band. In Stairway, the guitar solo still has the band playing underneath it. And now Im realizing that so does the "solo" I recommended by Eric Johnson. Oh well. And, for the record, I never much liked 'eruption' for some reason :?

Yep yep, that's a good one. "Fade to Black" by Metallica has an awesome intro. Basically a full-out guitar solo before the verses even start. Then an awesome guitar solo for the outro also. I enver much liked the verses, but the beginning and end are pretty sweet.

The slight problem with this is that there is no such thing as an absolute time, so the point at which it is frozen cannot be defined with a given value that everyone can accept. Now start moving in any direction at half the speed of light, away from the point. Because the speed of light is always constant, you will remain at the center of the expanding sphere of light. Right, and in any case, just this theory doesn't provide any way to predict which features will dominate, simply because the environment and the species are too complex to make any logical conclusion out. So my original point remains - the theory of evolution doesn't predict anything. Skunk Cabbage. That's like saying we can't predict the weather. Obviously, meteorology is way to complicated to predict what the weather will be like a year from now. But we can make limited predictions about the next few days. Evolution is even more complicated, but we can likewise make predictions. Example: A doctor makes an anti-bacterial drug. Theory of evolution predicts that within five years a new type of bacteria will have evolved that is immune to the drug. The prediction is then proven correct when, a year later, there are resistant strains of bacteria. This actually happens, resistant bacteria have developed in Africa before their respective drugs have even become legal in America. Saying "the theory of evolution doesn't predict anything" is incorrect. Just because we are not smart enough to understand it fully does not mean it can't predict things.

When someone says "we live in the 4th dimension," that means we live in all of the four dimensions, length, width, depth, and time. I think.

Last timed run I did was two miles, 11:51, so I could probably do a mile in 5:30. It might take me a few weeks to get back in that kind of shape though.

Take it easy, Tigra... I am in absolute agreement with this judge. I think ID is a religious theory that has no place in the science classroom. In essence, my problem with ID is here: Evolution is absolutely based in fact. It is based on observations we have made in the fossil record, observations in real time of bacteria that can evolve to resist antibiotics, etc. Like all science, it's a theory that isn't perfect, but is always being worked on. I repeat: The theory of evolution is absolutely based in fact. That's the difference. Darwinism is fact-based (or "evidence-based" if you prefer). Intelligent Design is faith-based. Faith serves a necessary purpose in society, but it should not be mandated in the classroom.

lol I just spent about 5 min trying to explain it and realized its darn near impossible. I just kind of accept it on faith that time is the fourth dimension. :lol: ----------------- Alright, here's my lil explanation: The way I think of it is like this: picture a cylinder. It has length, width and depth (3 dimensions). If you take a cross section, you now just have length and width. These two dimensions are frozen somewhere in the third. Going up a level... Put that cylinder in your basement for a week. Now it is a three dimensional object moving along through time. If you look at it for one instant alone, it only has the standard three dimensions. But those three dimensions have a place somewhere within the week. That one instant is like a cross section of time. Given that little analogy type thingy, time is the fourth dimension. -------------------- Well, I'm not sure that I understand it either, but that's sorta close. :? Anyway, it's all moot, because according to Einstein, time is space anyway :shock: :lol: Explain that one!
