  1. Because 99's have been over-glorified. I would say go for something that requires NO money, like woodcutting or mining. Hunting is also an option if you're a member.
  2. Since when has that stopped anyone? :P
  3. I'd like to see some old content updated. Things like mining, runecrafting, and other skills that have obvious things missing from them. (Dragon Pickaxe and Soul Crafting respectively.) New content is fun, but it often loses it's flair five minutes after you're done the quest. Updates to old skills (like the recent Slayer update) add new flair to a skill you already love, and make you want to train it even more. I personally think the Slayer update was one of the best so far this year. :D
  4. Yeah but cutting willows makes you hardly any money at all... meaning the time you spend cutting willows was time making no money... when you could have been cutting Yews... and making money. :P Yews are very high in price right now, I'm pretty sure they would be a rather good source of money.
  5. Because the tasks are quick and short, and bring in a lot of exp! :D My favourite skill btw.
  6. I would love it if they would start updating some older things. :( And quest areas really are completely useless. :P Does anyone even remember Rubium anymore? I haven't thought of its existence until I read this, and realized how truly useless a lot of quest rewards are.
  7. lol thanks :XD: It's not the screen (which is LCD I believe, but I really don't know much about the hardware of a computer :P), because I could still see the mouse and move it around and stuff. The place that the computer is in, is open in the back for ventilation, but we always keep the front door of the cabinet open too while it's running. I'll try updating the driver and stuff though, and see how that goes. Thanks to everyone who's helped so far. EDIT: Okay so I went to that link for updating the driver, and it says that that version is for Windows Vista, but we're using XP. I'll post a pic of my display diagnostics here, and see if anyone can tell me if I am up-to-date, as I really don't know enough myself to be able to tell. :XD: :( EDIT2: Here's the picture.
  8. I'm very certain that if that happened, there would be a LOT of people complaining about how it's "too easy" now. I'm sure you'll be fine. There are a lot of ways to make money, and you can raise skills and get exp at the same time as making that money back. It's just a game, and this isn't going to hurt you. :P
  9. NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Thats my graphics card. This happened once before to my brother (atleast once..), and the only reason I knew to make it sleep was because thats what he did. So it's a recurring thing it looks like. The graphics card is fairly new... within the year I'm certain.
  10. So today, while playing Runescape, as is per usual, completely randomly, my entire screen went purple. I could not see anything, but sounds were still playing, and I could see my mouse and move it around, but the rest of the screen was a solid shade of purple. I googled the problem, and found nothing useful at all. I read a lot about some "purple screen of death" experienced on Vista, but thats not anything like the problem I had. I'm using a Windows XP, the Proffessional version I think, but I could be wrong. Can anyone help? I pressed the sleep button to make the computer sleep, and turned it back on, and everything was fine, btw. Seems to be no lasting damage, but I could be wrong...
  11. Yay I'm bored! Time to go through all my skills and see what I remember. :) Attack - I trained on goblins at really low levels, because they dropped money! And I wanted that money. I remember meeting someone, and he and I would get food together, and then kill goblins together, to make money off the goblins. A lot of my levels came from Slayer however, as that's my favourite skill. :) Strength - I remember figuring out how to change from training attack to training strength. I think thats about the time I started getting Strength levels. Since then, it's been things that I needed to kill, or felt like killing, or training Slayer. Defence - Same as above really. Range - I don't remember any of my early levels, but a lot of them have come from either Slayer, or killing Blue Dragons for their hides and bones. Prayer - I always buried all my bones in my early days, and I remember killing Hill Giants to finally be able to get into the Prayer Guild! Magic - I don't really remember. For the most part, I've never really tried to get magic levels until recently, as I want 83 eventually. Much of it probably came from Superheating ores, and High Alching the things I smithed from that, or the things I Fletched. Runecrafting - Don't remember any early levels really, cept making my own minds and airs sometimes. I've crafted Natures and stuff for money though. Construction - Mostly Oak Larders, like everyone else. All my early levels mostly came from larders before oak. Hitpoints - Never actually tried to train it, just happened with everything else. Agility - I remember doing the Gnome Course many a time, and being excited to get to move on to other courses like the Wildy Course. Herblore - Can't remember how I've trained this really. Mostly herbs from Farming and Slayer I'm sure. Thieving - Hmm... I remember trying to get to the level where I could pickpocket Master Farmers, mostly in Ardougne I think, Cake and Silk stalls and whatnot. Since then it's been mostly Master Farmers and the Wine Stall in Draynor, and for only a few very recent levels, Pyramid Plunder. Crafting - I made a LOT of Hardleather Bodies in f2p. I spent lots of time killing cows to get hides, and I spent a lot of money to get hides also. I tanned almost all of them on my own I think. I've done some Green and Blue Dragonhides in p2p also. Fletching - I often cut normal trees and made them into arrow shafts, in Catherby while I was farming. Made a lot of Willows into unfinished bows, and bought Yews and Bowstrings (sometimes flax), to make into bows to alch. Slayer - I don't remember the specifics of this skill, but I remember being really excited to start this skill, and then it being the best skill ever, and I still love it. :XD: Hunter - Started training it the day it came out, but found it awfully boring. I stopped for the longest time, until I made it my goal to get all skills to 60+. I caught a lot of Salamanders, and now with my goal to get 70+ skills, I've got even more Salamanders until I could catch Red Chins, and thats all I've caught up to this point. Mining - Was my favourite skill until I got members. I mined coal to sell, a lot of the time. In my early days, I mined stuff, smithed it into armour at Doraks (or whatever his name is), and sold to the general store, or a nearby specialty store if there was one. I powermined from 79 I think, until 85 for Runite. Since then, I've mined Rune, and Superheated a lot of Mithril Bars in the Mining Guild. Smithing - Same as above! Fishing - Fished a lot of Lobsters in f2p, often for money, as I didn't train combat much then. In members, I fish for all of my food, and that's where most of these levels have come from. Cooking - Never tried to get a cooking level before really. In f2p I tried hand-baking pies, by gathering my own wheat and turning it into flower, making the pastry and what-not. I sold them to the general store then for money, all while using the old Cooking Guild. :XD: Firemaking - Can't remember really. Recent levels have mostly been my MTK Maples. Woodcutting - I remember going for the Woodcutting level to be able to cut Yews, as everyone thought it was the ultimate money maker back in f2p. I cut Yews for a long time after that for my money. In p2p I've cut Yews and Magics for money, and to train my Fletching. I'm cutting Yews while I'm in f2p again for a while actually, to raise my fletching and woodcutting. :XD: Farming - Can't remember too much really. I remember planting Ranarrs for money, and buying Watermelon seeds more recently to train it. I've also bought Snap seeds to make into Super Restores once I had the level to do that, and made some money off of them. Used most of my tree seeds from MTK too. Summoning - Haha umm... followed the guide on the tip.it site I think, for my earliest levels right after I finished the quest. Made a lot of those Rocks Crabs I think, as Iron was easy for me to get. Magpies with my gold rings that were sitting around from MTK, and Spirit Terrorbirds, as they were pretty easy to make, and are quite useful. I really just want 68 for Bunyips, and then eventually 70 for my all-skills-70+ goal.
  12. Skills Necklace has a teleport there. (Enchanted Dragonstone necklace, if you didn't know.)
  13. I would definitely love that. :D Mining is one of my favourite skills, and a dragon pick would just make it even better. :)
  14. As has already been said, it's a supply and demand thing. Snapdragons and Ranarrs make potions that everyone wants. Plus, not a lot of people really enjoy farming apparently (I do, however), creating even more of a demand which there are fewer people willing to fill. However, you can use those low level seeds for basically free farming and herb exp, if you collect your own seconds, or very cheap herb exp if you buy the seconds. Endless possibilites!
  15. I also agree with slaying! Best skill ever, imo. Best way to raise combat, without wasting exp, and you still get the charms. :) Someone suggested going for 95 slayer. I think thats a good idea also. However, no one says you have to keep slaying RIGHT NOW, if you're bored of it. You are free to do whatever you want. :)
  16. I remember that too. I'm pretty sure it was in the Archive of Wisdom, but I couldn't find it when I went to look for it. Maybe you'll have more luck if you look there?

I can't say I've noticed a huge problem, but a few new servers couldn't hurt. No one likes having to hop around to find an empty world, especially not if we pay to play this game. I'm sure it wouldn't be a huge challenge for Jagex or anything either. I think they should do that. :P
  18. I definitely agree. I don't have a problem with rocks only having one ore. There are a ton of rocks, and I think they all do fine in supporting the amount of miners. I really don't like how everyone complains about how the skills are too hard, but quests are too easy, and when a hard quest comes along, it's too hard, and the requirements are too high, and NO ONE is ever happy. I love this game how it is right now. If it was never updated again, I might be slightly disappointed, but I would still have a lot of fun with it. Seriously people... stop complaining!! NO ONE is forcing you to play this game. If you do not like, go find something better to do with your time. ... [/rant]
  19. Mining is definitely one of my favourite skills. If you don't like, don't train it. No one's making you use it.
  20. I personally would recommend banking them. Why not? You can use them to get smithing exp after. Can make the iron into knives, and use them to get range xp, or sell them for a profit. :)
  21. Why not just go try it out and see? Even if you did get the password... since it's banned... wouldn't that make finding the password useless?
  22. The RSOF Events forum usually has something like this that you could use. Just look for like an 'open house' thread, and check to see if they have a gilded alter.
  23. There's one huge plus to everything everyone thinks is a bad thing: all the autoers are gone!! I don't have a beef with any of the new updates anyways though. xD GE is great, and the trade limit only makes trading easier. :)

I would say yes do them. It would give you the range exp you want, and some summoning exp with it! Why not?
  25. I don't think I really chose it, it just happened. These forums are really active, and there's always multiple good discussions going on, and something interesting to read. I like having something else to do with runescape. :P
