  1. Looks like we're both right. :) http://searchstorage.techtarget.com/exp ... 07,00.html As it says there, normal desktop solutions are one drive to one port. But in a commercial environment (server) you may be able to use cables like the one you posted. With I assume special hardware/software. Much more information here: http://www.sata-io.org/portmultiplier.asp If you like reading. :P Oh I have seen normal desktop motherboard with these, but very few on them. The motherboard was also like $300. I selected that because I was too lazy to look through the motherboards. Anyways, thats why sata hard drives do have master and slave pins for the odd occurrence you would use them with a raid card or an expensive motherboard.
  2. So what would you give your girlfriend if she asked for something? "Happy birthday! I was too stingy to get you something nice, so i got you this coupon for a Macdonalds Happy meal, nd a bag of half eaten dog food!" I doubt I'd be dating her if she expected me to buy her expensive presents. Isn't each other enough? If you read the original post, he said his girlfriend wanted, he never said she expected one. He didn't have to agree to get one, but he did. You never know, for his birthday she may get him a DS or something else in that price range. You think this is like a middle school relationship that lasts for less than a month. They could be pretty serious, but I'm sure that never crossed your mind.

I found a page that has the system requirements for the game. They are estimated but look about right to me. http://www.crysis-online.com/Informatio ... uirements/
  4. I think it's going to be awesome. The first farcry had amazing graphics so I can't wait to see how this one looks. I think it's going to be using the crysis engine and we all know how that looks already. [hide]This new game I have a feeling will have many twists in it because I think Val is in on the "farcry" project because of the papers she had at the end of the last game.[/hide] On another note, you just played this game now? You really missed out for the last 2 years.
  5. You can raise the song with the program audacity. You can get it here Or if your playing the song in itunes you can right click on the song and click properties and there is a volume management in there.
  6. Here's a raid card that has sata cables that support 4 drives, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6816151018 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage ... +supported)+and+JBOD+-+Retail There are a lot cheaper one but I picked this one because it was easy to find and has a good picture showing the cables.
  7. Well they have a bigger screen. The imacs now start with a 20" and not a 17" like before.
  8. lol, you have no sense of humor. if you like women so much, cut your penis off :ohnoes: and get steroids to grow boobs. :XD: :XD: :XD: :XD: EDIT: W00tz, 4 posts in a row! Wow i really need a hobby... You don't need steroids to get boobs, you just have to eat at McDonald's at least once a day. Good point, but make it twice a day :P Your both wrong, to get boobs, or bigger boobs you need to eat these :P . http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/ineffective- ... 286386.php
  9. Famous Last words by My chemical Romance I think thats the name of the song, anyways, if it's not, I know it's by my chemical romance.
  10. First of all, the memory on the graphics card does not determine the speed. Go to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest to check and see if the game supports your hardware. It's a great site, it has every game you can imagine and it's an automated system that checks for you.
  11. Backing up a game is legal if you own the original copy. Soon as you sell that original copy, you must destroy the backup copies. Oh and to play these backups on a ps2 you have to softmod or install a modchip in the ps2, which is also illegal depending on where you live.
  12. Too bad it's illegal and is stealing. Anyway, my suggestion is Mario Kart. Oh, and have fun with that pony game :P . I'm just kidding
  13. Very close :) . It's run then type in "dxdiag"
  14. Well I don't think it's that good of a deal. The processor is weak being only the E2140. The core 2 duos are cache dependent and the processor only having 1mb compared to the 2mb-4mbs on mainstream cpus. The ram is good because you want to have 2GBs of ram for all computers today. The hard disk I consider large but other may suggest even bigger (we have some storage freaks on these forums). If you want to play some of the newest shooting games then this computer will not be good. The 7300 card is weak. It's pretty much the worst dedicated card from last generation to be brutally honest. If you want, you could build a computer for the same price that is a lot better.

I imagine the gamecube version will be quite different to the PSP version.... PSP = Better functionality, better internet capability, better graphics, vidoes / music, endlessly expandable memory. Battery life is short, its a lot more fragile than the DS DS = Better game library overall, touchscreen is nifty, does not feature as many functions as the PSP, battery life is better and it is a lot more durable. However If you're prepared to take the risks of doing the homebrew approach then a PSP is much much much much much much much better.. and when the slim comes out... Imo that wins hands down. Video out will make it the best handheld ever because it basically becomes a portable PS2. Also, if you want a great PSP game that will occupy your time. Monster Hunter Freedom, (1 and 2) The best single player RPG I've played in ages. By far the best of its kind i've ever played. Thank you for the long and informative post! :) I know about this "homebrew" scene, but what exactly does it do? You downgrade your system so you can play older games? Why would someone do that? Or you can play your own softwares? Are there any real pluses for "homebrewing" a PSP? What kind of things can you do with a downgraded PSP? Well now with the custom firmwares you can have the best of both worlds. Have the newest firmware features and play homebrew. Homebrew is a term meaning an application that is not made by a company and is made by people. This can include emulators to play sega, n64, and other old games or even brand new games that developers made just for the psp. Applications can include something for internet radio (called pspradio), make the psp so that it can control your tv (IRshell). Basically in short, it expands the features of what the psp can do.
  16. I used something like this up until 8th grade. Seriously, it's a calculator. Some people think it's a life or death choice here. All you need, especially for middle school, is a calculator that can do the 4 basic equations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). You may also need a fraction button but that's about it.
  17. My god you have the most programs running and starting up I have ever seen. Go to Start>run>type "msconfig" > startup tab. Disable everything you don't need to start up. Things like Abode reader and other crap that you can load on your own when you want to use the program. Again you have 2 anti-viruses running at the same time which are probably conflicting with each other and is giving you less protection. Un-install one of them, it will keep your computer safer and free up resources. I don't see any virus, worm ect. in the log. My guess is that you have low amounts of physical memory and Vista is using the page file and has to increase it to a large number and thats what is taking you disk space.
  18. Well it's highly unlikely that the worm got into the restore partition of your disk. Atleast I have never seen it, read it, or heard of a worm like that before. I have a feeling there is nothing wrong and Vista is just doing some work in the background. I also noticed you said you have 2 virus scanners. That may make the detection worse, not better. Un-install one of them, I recommend getting rid of Nortan because it's a resource hog. Are the definitions updated on all of your scanners and did you scan with them after they were updated? Post a hijackthis log which will show if theres something running that shouldn't be. Download from here
  19. It could very well take up 2GBs of space if you start including the office updates in. If you went online for 5 minutes without a patched Windows installation and no anti-virus programs, you may likely have a virus already. The first thing you do with a new windows installation is to install all windows updates, then download anti-virus. Don't check here, or your email or something before that (not saying you did but thats how most people do it). You could have done what cruiser suggested already and post a screenshot of the windows spacemonger gives you. Then we can see what it taking up the space.
  20. He will not have to scn with them because it would have removed everything. Akthough your right, he needs to install one asap. Since you just restored it, all of your Windows updates are gone, re-download them, it will fix many security holes.
  21. No, don't restore it. Just a note: You will not lose Vista, what this means is that it will restore the computer to the state in which you got it. This could get you your Office back if it came pre-installed. If you think it's a virus, scan with your virus scanner and spyware scanners. AVG Free is a good anti-virus program. Ad-aware and Spybot are good free anti=spyware programs.

Thanks for your awesome help  . You know the ps3 is a lot harder to carry around to play games on then the psp. Of course the ps3 is going to have better graphics, it's played on a tv and is 20x bigger than the psp. Your second piont isn't even valid because the psp has wireless capabilities too.
  23. blade995 replied to Abelmisi's topic in Off-Topic
You can not do this with the psp functions that Sony supplys. You can however do this with a homebrew app called IRshell. It's a really cool program, if you have a homebrew capable psp you should check it out. I use it as a remote control for my tv.
  24. Well yes they are supposed to be set as masters on newer motherboards that run the sata ports in native mode. Since your motherboard is kind of old judging by only having 2 sata ports they are probably working in IDE mode which would require the jumpers.

Well it's a good choice to buy a psp now because the psp slim just came out which improves many things on the psp, including better battery life, it's a lot smaller (same screen size), tv out, more ram for a better internet browser and sorter load times, and a faster umd drive which will also improve load times. Good games that I recommend would Call of Duty, both GTA's, Tony Hawk's Project 8, and Need for Speed.
