  1. Your absolutely correct. I do know Jagex has something like that in place. I believe it's like 10 attempts before your locked out. This was when I played over a year ago, it may have changed. What some people may do for a Runescape bruteforce attack is not to target directly one person but a large group of people. What they will do is have a list of 10 commonly used passwords to try onto every account they give the program. Thats why you should have a very strong password consisting of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  2. You will need to go into the router's settings. Type this into your browser (any will work): 192.168.1.1 This will bring you to a web page with all your router's settings. It may ask you for the router's password which you will need to find out.
  3. Too bad Youtube doesn't offer a download link directly. Anyway, to the OP, have you tried downloading the youtube video from another download site and have them work after 5?
  4. Just because all you do is "eat stuff" does not mean the game is bad. There are a lot more to ratings than gameplay. What about graphics, Sound, Presentation, or how well the game was designed? Seriously, it's like your smoking something because of your obviously a movie video game fanboy. First a thread saying they get a bad rap then a whole thread saying how your beloved movie games got lower scores.
  5. Be warned though, it's a highschool party so somebody may bring alcohol. If you don't want any at your party, just tell the guy to leave. Anyway, you have a lot of years to drink so don't do it. Oh god, I'm a hypocrite now
  6. How is the ps3 $450? I know it dropped to $500 but I got news for you, it's not staying there. Pretty much they dropped the price of the 60gb model to $500 then are introducing the 80gb at $600 then are going to be discontinuing the 60gb model.
  7. Ok, I just have to post this: :D [hide=Warning, contains mild language.][/hide]
  8. I also would not recommend one for a laptop. You would have to plug the wireless dongle into the laptop, which would draw power. Which if the laptop is running off of the battery already, it will drain faster. Then the hub would need a power source, such as batteries. It's more trouble then it's worth for a wireless one, just get a wired one. I suggest searching Newegg.com for this stuff. They are usually the cheapest around.
  9. I disagree, Sony will probably have the least profits from console sales and software. Sony is losing a heck of a lot of money on each ps3 sold. I believe when the ps3 was released it cost them $800+ to make it while selling at $600 then dropped down to $500. It's still costing them over $700 but they did manage to shave money off because the blueray laser are more mass producing. Microsoft, was losing something like $150 on each console. By now they are breaking even or actually making money with it being out the longest and switching to 65nm processors. Although they are going lose 1billion on the warranty extending. Nintendo is the smartest one of them all. They never take a loss on a console they sell. They are making money from the start. Granted it's not that much, something like $20+. They are probably laughing at the fact that Sony and Microsoft lost billions selling their consoles.
  10. ^^^^^ Well if he said it's been happening since January I doubt he will want to do a system restore because he probably has installed many things since then. My suggestion is pretty much going with the above. Un-install any programs that look like a virus scanner or anti-spyware scanner that you have no idea what they are. Install Ad-aware 2007 (you said you did this but make sure it's the new 2007 version), install Spybot, and then install a virus scan such as avast or AVG. After installing all of those, update the definitions. Boot into safe mode and scan with all these scanners there. To get into safe mode repeatedly press f8 while booting the computer.
  11. I get what you mean but for somebody who does not know much about computers or the series of tube joke (if thats what you were referring to.), then he will have no idea what you just said. Anyway to some it up in my words. Bluetooth is wireless that is used in short distances and is used to connect devices to one another, such as a cell phone to a bluetooth headset or wirelessly connect a device to your computer. The ps3 also uses this for their controllers. Wireless is for the internet and networking of computers. It can be used over longer distances and I believe it's faster. Although bluetooth can be used for the internet and to link computers but is not as good as wireless G or N.
  12. Just because all of your Sony products have lasted you, doesn't mean everybody has had the same luck. My ps2 has died twice, the ps2's were unreliable for the first couple of years after launch. Can you say disk read errors? Of course the ps2 would be reliable now, it's been out for 7 years.
  13. Half of those questions you could have answered yourself by reading the tech specs on the web page you posted. The other half by google. 1) Whats turbo memory? If your talking about turbocache that Nvidia uses on graphics cards, then yes it does have it. 2) I don't see it on the web page you provided, so no. 3) 8 cell found directly on the page. 4) google it. 5) Go to the acer website and check if there are more models available. 6) Nobody knows when stuff decreases in price. If your always waiting for stuff to decrease in price, you will always be waiting.
  14. I agree with that a little. FF2 was definetely rushed but the others were very detailed and had alot of thought put into it. Even if they have detailed graphics, thats not everything to a game. Most movie based games I wouldn't say rushed, but aren't up to the same standards as normal games. Movie games are usually just a way for the movie studio to get more money from the movie, thus are sometimes rushed out the door to get out as the same time the movie is released to generate more hype for the movie.
  15. Blue-ray is not useless, it's going to replace dvds. It's a good format and is actually winning against hd-dvd. Even so, Blue-ray raised the price of the PS3 and has no benefits to offer the console (other than a blue-ray player). All the extra space makes developers lazy and then they design bad games with sloppy code. Tons of developers have proven a dual layer dvd disk (what the 360 uses) is plenty of space for todays games. One thing to add about the PS3 games, Madden 2008. Madden on the 360 runs at a steady 60 fps while the ps3 only runs at 30 fps and dips even lower to make it choppy. The game has gotten lower scores on the ps3 than any other console it was released on. So if the ps3 can't run Madden at 60 fps but the 360 can, then how is the ps3 superior?

I used that excuse that I was a freshman when I was late for class for like 3 months :) . It was awesome.
  17. Well it depends what your going to be using this computer for. I'm guessing that it will be for some gaming if you were going to upgrade the graphics card. How old is your computer? The specs would be nice to see what you would be upgrading from. I'm guessing it's pretty old (1+ years) because dell now has pci-e slots on their motherboards. If you can re-use the hard drive, and cd/dvd drives that could save some money off the price of you building a new computer. I don't know why dell would rivet their motherboards. Joe are you sure about that? I always thought they were just weird design that were mini-atx form factor. That wouldn't be a good business move if they need to replace a motherboard on warranty.
  18. If it's not reliable then thats not a good thing for a server. It will be fine if your just going to play around with the server, and see if you can set one up, host a website ect. If you want to set up a website and make it popular, then having your server go down because your isp isn't reliable is bad, people will just go somewhere else.
  19. So once you shrink, they'll be a new option to create a new partition? When you shrink the partition, you will see a block of gray space at the front or back of the full drive block. The gray space is unpartitioned space, click on that space, select how much you want to use of it, then just following the rest of the steps to get another partition. It's very easy, I have used it many times on Vista, nothing bad has happened.
  20. Well all motherboards today have pci slots, so that will not be a problem with you using your old cards. You will need to give us your computer specs so we can see what kind of motherboard you will need. Include what your processor is and your computer model number. If you can, tell us what socket your processor is, if not, you can google the model number to find out. The ram will work if you get a motherboard that supports it.
  21. Vista has a good built in partitioner. Right click on my computer icon > click manage > then on the left hand side click "disk management"
  22. Well first before you even start setting up a server in your house, read your isp terms of service. Some ISPs strictly say you may not run a web server off a home internet connection, and must get their business plan. Make sure it says nothing like that so you don't need to explain to your parents as to why your internet was shut off.
  23. Yeah but it's a mac, so it's worth it. I have to agree with you, half the mac users think it's some lifestyle. I got news for all of you, it's just a computer, not the second coming of God. Apple is really all about the design of their products, which is good up to a certain point. When people start caring more about how a computer looks than what it can do is when people have a problem. The example of the new mac keyboard, yes it's thin and the design is good, but it's still just a keyboard that will be used the same way that all the other keyboards are used for. If it was like that optimus keyboard that actually changes the functionality of what a keyboard does, then I would start caring.
  24. The amount of pins the ram has. I put it there so it's easier for you to tell what type of ram you need.
  25. If you put slower ram with faster ram nothing will go wrong except the faster ram will need to downclock to the specs to the slowest ram in the laptop. If your laptop has 667mhz ram, do not get slower than this because it will make ram performance worse. Get the same speed or higher but it will do no good because it will downclock. 667mhz ram would be DDR2 ram. The 225mhz stuff you said would most likely be DDR, which would not be compatible with each other. Make sure it's laptop ram and not desktop (that should be obvious). I believe laptop DDR2 ram is 200pin.
