  1. Can't beat Italian Suns but I started legends at lvl 67 and completed it at lvl 68 - went up a level during the combat parts of legends. :( I think I have a piccy of it if proof is required. Helios Gamos Current Aims To reach 1600 total levels at level 86 combat - 1573/1600 All Quests done - Complete Range 85/90 Mage 83/85
  2. Kat I always play in low detail mode (leftover from a laggy connection 18 months ago and haven't got out ofthe habit) I wasn't sure what people were complaining about with the flashing light thing. However I can confirm you do not get the flashing lights in low detail mode.
  3. Kevin - your last sentence is the key point and upon which Duke has based his assessment of Construction costs. There is currently no other way in RS to obtain oak planks, cloth, marble etc. without spending money in a shop and thus 'returning' the money to Jagex. The exchanges between players is irrelevant to the model posited by Duke. HTH
  4. I'd just like to clarify this - we did not publish this, per se, as much as we removed it from the forums, which were rapidly grinding to a halt due to the unexpected load that was put on them, onto the web-site, as a static page, which could handle considerably more connections at a time than the forums could... it's almost made quite obvious that this was done, and why, and that it was, by no means, something that we agreed with. ... just thought I should clarify that, as you make it sound as if we posted it up as a Tip.it Times article :P Clarification accepted Grin - I guess the weight on the forums meant the option of doing nothing was rather like trying to hold back the tide. A much clearer statement denying responsibility would have helped - i.e. not hidden in the body of the text.
  5. Well said. To me, Tip.it made a big mistake in deciding to publish such a fawning interview with a complete idiot (both the interviewer and the interviewee) Yes, RS is 'only' a game and yes the items are 'only' pixels but as we all know there are many who play the game, get so wrapped up in it becasue of the time they have invested etc. that they treat it very seriously when they lose items they have 'worked' for. As the father of children who play this game, I would not have wished to deal with the fallout of Durial's actions had they been victim to them. It was totally immature and irresponsible to be so thoughtless and selfish. Calling the guy a 'legend' is madness - The Rat should be ashamed especially as I understand he is a lot older IRL and should know better. Is there any excuse for Durial's actions ? No, messing around trying this bug out amongst friends who understand what is happening is one thing (I still don't approve) but deliberatly targeting those wearing expensive items is sick. No amount of 'I am sorry and of course I would give the items back' comments made after the event cut the mustard with me. I am glad Jagex have banned him (or at least banned on this character) - I just wish they had a way of permenantly banning him from ever playing this game again because he has shown he evidently does not have the right attitude for playing RS. There are too many playing this game now days who have a bad attitude in game - it is nowhere near as friendly a community as it was at the start of RS2 (didn't play RSC so can't comment on that). THe sooner these people are kicked out of the game the better. PS - I've seen the video and all those encouraging and egging him on are just as bad and Jagex should seriously consider banning them as well - their attitude is not what we should expect in this game.
  6. I estimate my level 85 character has a net worth of about 15 million but I would say that this could well be unusual. Skill levellers who source all their own materials (like me) will tend to have a higher net worth than the more combat orientated players (stakers and pure pkers excepted). This is simply because of the value ofthe finished goods they have accumulated. The items I have that add up to 15 million - 2.5mill in cash, another mill sitting in my kingdom, a mage book (5mill), 200 4 dose prayer pots (2mill), zammy plate (1mill), 1.5k of yew longs (1.2mill), 15k of pure essence (1 mill), 5 sets of full rune (1mill), 1k bloods (800k) all made or collected by me - none of it bought !!! So 15 mill is fairly easy to achieve IMHO
  7. Yes - limestone bricks may well give 20 xp and clay only 10 xp per item but clay is much quicker - here is why There are clay rocks in the mine in Rimmington close to the house. and for the cost of 5 (or is it 7) steel bars you can build your own water source in the house to make soft clay. Much, much quicker than walking over to the limestone quarry. Level 2 tool stores will give you unlimited buckets when you get to that level but before that just take a bucket with you.
  8. Couldn't you already get to Canifis with one prayer ever since the short cuts were put in ? Is there any prayer requirement to use the agility short cut next to the Temple of Salve ? I use the short cut but wouldn't know about any prayer requirement as I have 61 prayer.
  9. Congratulations and keep up the great work from a lvl85 (total levels of 1466) skill leveller. One day (sometime in the next decade) I hope to do something similar. Keep going
  10. I believe that the dummies in King Lathas's training ground allow you to train higher than lvl 8 and I think the ones in Burthorpe go higher as well. It so long since I used either that I can't remember the exact figure but lvl 23 comes to mind for the training ground. Obviously no good if you are f2p. (and I am sure someone will correct me if my memory has failed me)
  11. Wally you may well be right with your figures but there is an easier way Rune Arrows - max hit is 20% of your Range Level I can't remember the percentage for Addy downwards I'm afraid - but that is how it is worked out. Interestingly, a crystal bow's max hit is 25% of your Range level. And accurate is better for training with a crystal bow
  12. Like most good ideas, there is the air of simplicity about this one. Love it. Hope that someone somewhere takes a look and implements it.
  13. Some of the Cool/ fun things for me have been 1) Doing Dragon Slayer at 43, Heros at 54 and Legends at 68 on my first account. 2) Getting 144 Tears of Guthix in one go (with 195 QP) then only 66 with 201 QP the next time !!! 3) Leaving an inventory full of cabbages for an ancient mage pker at the abyss. He didn't appreciate my present for some reason!
  14. I have 196 qp (at level 83 combat) just one left to complete - Desert Treasure - started but waiting until I'm 80 mage to finish it (77 atm). All new quests I do within the the first couple of days of them coming out.
  15. I needed Baby Blue Dragon Bones Red Spider's Eggs Slimey Eel Not too difficult to sort out as two items were already in my bank. For the third I had to buy a fishing rod and bait - havent used those items for a long time
  16. I got 109 last night with 195 QP - my highest ever. No pic sorry Average is around the 90 mark, but have known it to be as low as 65 when I hit an unlucky streak. When it first came out (and I had maxed out on qp's), I use to get about 100 tears each time. Now Jagex have changed it, I have to work alot harder to get the tears. BTW I can confirm, it has always been 60 xp per tear.
  17. Curiouser and Curiouser as Alice said. Compare this with Paffie's figures above. 1. What was your reward? My reward was 7000xp 2. What levels were your quest related skills, total (approx) and qp after quest ? Mining 70 Crafting 64 Magic 77 Firemaking 69 Prayer 57 Total 1410 Qp 180 ish - missing Desert Treasure and Monkey Madness only 3. Did you opened (during quest) all 8 door on temple bottom level? YES 4. Did you opened (during quest) all 4 exits? NO - if you mean the secret exits - opened 3 of them 5. Did you bury (during quest) all 5 bigbones from the first boneguard? YES 6. What head you chose to make? the cat god (Icthlarin ) I unfroze the fountain and cleared the furnace with one spell each. I never had to ask Pentyn about the other rooms - is it possible you lost points for doing so - *shrug* doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the reward.
  18. i dunno what your trying to refer to with the "jessie" thing, if you mean me i guess your eyes and hands do not coopperate well together seeing how you misspelt my name. - snip - i find it odd you say my name or attempt to say it... - snip - i just dont get what your trying to state with such a comment that has no realistic bearing on this convo jessie is spelt correctly - nothing to do with you (why is everyone me, me , me these days?). A jessie is an english expression that means a woosie or big girls blouse or one of a myriad other phrases used to suggest someone is not 'manly' - which is what I consider those who melee with a halberd.
  19. As a ranger / mage who doesn't want to get attack, strength or defence any higher so can't wear guthans, Bones to Peaches is great to use for the first fifteen minutes in a multi area (like dags under the lighthouse) or other auto attack areas where the range spot is not 100% safe from all NPCs. It saves me taking any food with me at all - no bad thing as it means I don't have to endure the inane chatter fishing in Catherby. I know this is slightly off the topic but my tuppence worth. BTW, Bloodveld, agree with you 200%, Hallies should be banned - its painful watching a level 40 with an addy hally trying to kill a blue drag. Melee like a man not a jessie.
  20. That sometimes doesn't always work, depending on how certain PKers position themselves. And usually if you get by once and they see you... chances are they'll be ready for you the next time (that is if they're smart). Yeah, I killed a girl doing that one time. I don't abyss PK, but we were same combat and she was being a little too naive running around with only 1/4 to 1/2 HP (I could see from walkers hitting her). It was just too easy for me to pass up. Most Abyss PKers are not smart or don't know how to PK properly. I've only ever been attacked twice in 20k of essence run through the Abyss, and neither time were they successful. Each time, I just teled into the abyss, crafted, removed everything but my glory, nipped via the monastry to refill prayers and to fill up with cabbages. Went back to the PKer and let him kill me, having put prayer protect on. Poor Guy, he wasted about 20 Gods spells for a load of cabbages. Did this to him a couple of times, he got the hint and left me alone to rc in peace.
  21. Not too keen on POHs myself which looks to be linked to the Carpentry skill. However I'll look forward to the time I can sneak into other player's houses and steal their goodies using my theiving skills. But then we will be inundated with the nooby 'I've been burgled - fr33 stuff PLZ' - Plus ca change
  22. I have a certain amount of sympathy with the Editor but I can also understand Jagex's wishes to restrict access to solutions (not guides) for the puzzle. IMHO Jagex were a little unprofessional in their approach to the issue and should really look to creating an 'official' fan site programme. To Tip-it and all the other fan sites - I really wish you wouldn't post walk throughs. As Euph said earlier it is all to easy to read too much when all you want is a pointer in the right direction. There is a web site that has been going for many years providing hints for the PC style Adventure games by using a hierarchy of hints from cryptic to blindingly obvious. see http://www.uhs-hints.com It would be nice to see the fan sites take this type of structure on board so those of us who only need pointers can get them and those who do not have the wit or patience can still complete the quest (if thats the way one wishes to play the game).
