  1. It's funny how we've moved from democracy & capitalism vs communism & dictatorship, to democracy vs theocracy. Obviously we can't fight theocratic movements with capitalism and democracy is a weak weapon against theocracy, so we are at a dead end. I seriously see no way that we could get the muslim extremists to not be muslim extremists. Their system works, until someone puts it to end with violence, which may prove to be impossible.
  2. Comedy central is a band of muslimhaters who knew the best way to raise "awareness" against muslims would be to act scared of them. That's my conspiracy theory.
  3. Loading, please wait...

  4. I think freshman servers would be an instant success. There'd need to be servers for both f2p and p2p players. Would be nice to see how the economy would build up from scratch and what the community would be like, everybody being a newb again. Maybe they could even release new tradeable discontinued items on those servers  I hardly think they'd ever do it though.
  5. Didn't like the quest as much as I'd hoped I would, but it was kinda fun and very straight forward.
  6. Good for you, I guess. After all the "theological education" I've gotten, I haven't been able to see that. We went through our old holiday photos yesterday and there I had my silver cross in june 2007. I lost it somewhere that year however and haven't had any necklaces/ jewellery since. I took part in my last christian camp that summer (it was my summer job) and my first post in this topic was in november 2008. So something happened there. Thinking that everything is possible, even if only to a supernatural force, I believe, is immensely dangerous to both individuals and the community. Now I have to apologize to Lent, because it is infact possible to make a triangle with two obtuse angles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Euclidean_geometry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%A1nos_Bolyai http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0s620qpNmE
  7. What you said is absolutely correct, but is hardly ever relevant when discussing things like beliefs, faith, values, morals etc. As has been said, they can't be proven, but that doesn't mean they can't exist. This gets us nowhere. I'd say no one is that kind of person; everyone believes some things without proof, it is only reasonable to do so. Nothing wrong in it, is there? Unless they clearly say "no, I don't want to hear what you have to say, go away". Awesome  If you can't fill the void, you gotta learn to live with it. Which understandably may be hard sometimes.
  8. I disagree, in my eyes Internet debates have value, because they are debates. Troll & spamfests don't have value, but there are real, valuable debates on the internet. And because there are always new people asking those same old questions, they must always be re-answered, no other way around it. We don't have the power to make people read through the last 15 pages of the discussion or the books that would explain the arguments and we can't stop them from asking the questions... So there's no point complaining about it. And it doesn't de-value the discussion. I've learned that if you can't explain something, or you don't know why you are doing what you are doing (example: "why exactly must we study matrices?"), it must have something to do with quantum mechanics. QM is like the troll under the bridge, or your worst nightmare, you can't fight it, it will get to you when you least expect it. Now, you mentioned human logic, my question is: is there some other form of logic other than human logic? and if there is not, there's no need to call it "human logic" as if it was somehow lesser than the real, "absolute" logic. It doesn't matter in this debate, but in general I don't like it when people use the word human with another word to convey a negative tone. The idea that we can (/are allowed to/ are able to) assess the existence of God with logic is important. I salute the philosophical goldfish. This is exactly what this topic is about: showing people that you can ask questions, it doesn't matter wether you are going to get an acceptable answer or not, asking the question is what matters. No. There is no evidence about the supernatural, if there was, it wouldn't be supernatural. If there was proof, it wouldn't be called religion, but science. If there was proof of the existence of God, we'd hardly be here discussing this matter further.
  9. that's messed up what's the system used?
  10. If dragon bones keep going up we are nearing the limit when it is worth it to take the time to bank your dragon bones from metal dragons (granted, some already do this at the new metal dragon spots)?
  11. You can't discard history when condemning those who live today. What I mean to say is that we aren't getting anywhere with these blunt comments, but instead we should try to understand the reasons as to why the world is what it has become. - History of the religions, geopolitical shifts, natural resources etc etc, dating back hundreds/ thousands of years. There are (good?) reasons why those rogue/terrorist nations are not (yet) democratic, and why there are extremists and what not. (posted & edited in a rush but I'm done now... move on)
  12. Can I obtain the shattered heart runecrafting rocks when I rc in the great orb project minigame?
  13. A few months after the release, what is mag like? Have there been any patches or major fixes, eg I heard something about some maps being unbalanced and sver was the dominant group etc, has anything changed? Not that I'd be getting the game but I just find the idea of 256 players interesting and something to keep an eye on, seeing how it works and how succesful it is in the long term. Got my mum Lego Star Wars (all six episodes in one!) for her birthday lol. It's fun (/ but also frustrating) watching someone who hasn't played videogames all their life learning the ropes.
  14. playing old games that aren't worth mentioning cos they are so old finished uncharted 1 on hard, nearing 50% completion in gtaIV. Three leaf clover was epic & fun. Hating the "moral" decisions where you have to kill a character... but I really like em all and don't want to kill em =( Played through the prologue in heavy rain at my sister's
  15. I seriously thought Stephen Hawking died in 2009. Damn rumors & fake news. Personally I think it will take aliens thousands of years before they'll hear our broadcasts, so I wouldn't get too worried. Our "domestic" issues are much greater than these intergalactic ones.

    Today...

Today, when I walked from the canteen back to my department, some random dude asked me if I spoke English, I said yes because I thought he was a tourist or something, he started casual smalltalk (how much coursework I got & how long till summer holidays etc), but soon enough he asked me quite straight if I believed in God (first time I've ever been asked by a complete stranger irl). What surprised me the most was that he didn't try to convert me or anything, but instead we had a great (if such discussions can ever be great?) albeit short discussion about laws of nature & the creator, wether some famous physicist were believers etc. It was kinda fun, but also creepy and weird. Then when we were at my department, he didn't even give me a leaflet or anything, just turned back to where we had came from
  17. I just realized what a horrible person I am. (Blue jeans, black t-shirt & a brown zipper hoodie)
  18. Civ2 manual was a whole book. Don't remember if it was written in other languages or if it was just in english, but it was still very long. It was also quite compulsory reading if you wanted to be any good in the game in harder difficulty levels...
  19. There are a few creepy songs, but most of them are relaxing or otherwise perfect for a building/ resource management game. I wasn't very good in the game, but now I've built a city of 100k people for nostalgic reasons, never done so good in the game lol. We used to play with cheat codes with my friend. Good ones (my favorites): These start off slow and weird but build up: Mostly weird ones: Secret of monkey island intro/theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjvD3C_nvBk (Also the most epic pirate song)
  20. Simcity 3000 soundtrack & Secret of monkey island theme
  21. great stuff, the best part of the game was these portraits. (3x4) has two faces?
  22. High cmb lvl really opens you up to more mature (and also high leveled) partners, I've found. Duo-ed lvls 22-29 today, I honestly can't remember how fast or slow hunting was, but farming must've been slower and construction and summoning were faster than this. But it isn't too slow. I'm getting over 1k xp now in the floor 13+ area. Soon I'll have to reset again I think. 2 vs 1 small dungeons = fast and easy progress
  23. VICTORY ! Congratulations Green. Now give each other a good elbow bump and don't forget to disinfect your keyboards. Tis swine flu season afterall. cool game, more?
  24. Nope, there was the random death bug a few years back when people reported deaths at gargoyles and tears of guthix, which resulted in 2 rollbacks if I remember it right. I completed the same clue two or three times and got a different reward each time. This was before 10/12/2007 Coming back to fix my statement after some vigorous google action.. The instant death glitch (2006) was not the reason for the two rollbacks (http://goldchronicles.blogspot.com/2007/07/crash-and-burn.html), but instead a server blackout (http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Server_blackout) that occurred on the 15th of july 2007.
