Nope, there was the random death bug a few years back when people reported deaths at gargoyles and tears of guthix, which resulted in 2 rollbacks if I remember it right. I completed the same clue two or three times and got a different reward each time. This was before 10/12/2007

There is a ghost fremennik walking around the place (he was near the tents but I dunno how far he wanders), no options to talk or examine him, someone with ghosthunting gear could try and see if he says anything. Got bored of high-lvl f2p dunq for now. Soloing lvl 20 ice monsters with tier 5 sword isn't that much fun after a while.

For those getting their first reaction (where the hell is kyrzwhat?) Sounds interesting, gonna see the slideshow ->

The problem today is that there is no practical way to lose all that hard earned cash, once you get hundred of millions of gp all you can do is get some more 99 skills. Earlier you could just stake it at the duel arena. Ofcourse you could try playerkilling in 3rd age armor but that would be stupid. Risk vs reward balance is lost for high levels nowadays, if it was balanced we wouldn't have to think "am I playing for fun or just because I had fun playing last year?" all the time.

Someone lurking the official funorb forums could see if a jagex moderator has confirmed that there won't be bandos etc campaigns.

A Thousand Tickets, Half the Trip
Perakp replied to Laura's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Congratulations! So what's your position in castle wars? do you like to defend/ attack/ score flags/ pk? The first 1000 tickets is the easiest I think  -
Their personal beliefs don't make any sense :( If the beliefs were consistent, logical, honest, had some explanatory value, had no derogatory implications, etc, it would make life with them much easier.

the forum is fine as it is.

When religion has a large effect on a group's politics, one way to attack these politics is to attack the religion. Good for them if they see it that way.

from http://forum.tip.it/topic/260057-reflection-on-atheists-vs-theists-in-modern-times/ Lets have two separate topics, one for discussing which side is more annoying and one for discussing the existence of god? sounds epic. Yes we do admit we can't disprove gods. Obviously there is no need for faith in a deity?

My biggest complaint is the combat system (ps3). It gets repetitive, feels like hack'n'slash and has little to no strategy in it. 10-15h of playing, two background stories and 15% world explored so I don't know if it gets better towards the end. Best thing about the game is the talking/ story. The background stories could've been longer (obviously, that'd mean the game was longer/ deeper/ more replay value) Definitely worth the 40, going to spend 100s of hours easily.

Just for fun I guess, it seems like a very effective and unique language. Na I'm not.
-
That quote means "With each language you can speak, you become more of a man." Correct me if I'm wrong.^^ Yeah but it doesn't sound as good, as elegant, when it's put in English. When I was younger my parents would speak in bits of swedish, english and german when they didn't want us kids to know what they were talking about (I guess they were discussing our christmas presents etc). I think this must've motivated me in my language studies a bit. I'd like to learn spanish, russian or sign language atm.
-
The Finnish system is that you start with English at 9, then you have a chance to start a 2nd foreign (usually german or swedish) at eleven if you want to and Swedish (2nd official language) starts at 13. The obligatory swedish raises political conflicts from time to time, people don't need it, it's hard for the students, there'd be more important subjects to study (russian for example, some argue), etc. Personally I think from a minority point of view, obligatory swedish as a 2nd foreign language is a good thing, even if you never needed it. Seeing what kind of minority related problems other european countries have, I think it sends out a message that we view them as a legitimate and respected part of the community when we teach their language to everyone. Our german teacher had a good quote on her classroom door that I don't know how to put in English: Mit jeder Sprache die du kannst, bist du ein Mensch mehr. It's true.

A few things/ ideas I'd like to share on this never ending topic... - Science vs Bible first: Both the use of scientific method and interpreting the word of the bible are ways of getting information about the world. Science, naturalism (whatever you want to call it) comes from the pre-assumption that THE only way to learn to understand the world is to look at the world. Religions come from the pre-assumption that their holy scriptures are THE most important source for all knowledge and if the world and your own experiences contradict the scriptures, obviously the scriptures are still right (one way or another). Because of this underlying difference between the two stances, you can't really say which is right or wrong. But you can (and you should) decide which sources of information you want to base your worldview on; the word of God that explains the world, or the world itself. If you find a way to incorporate the two pre-assumptions (in a rational manner, so that others can come to the same conclusion without the need to ride an invisible pink unicorn), then I salute you. Personally I believe (firmly) that it can't be done, because if there was a way, we wouldn't need to be here discussing this topic. - The existence of free will, pre-deternemism, fatalism and suggested omnipotent god I study physics. I believe in causality, that there are a set of laws in nature that can not be broken. The idea of cause and effect implies that everything I'm going to write in this post is already decided. The idea of not having true free will is both fascinating and frightening. But the other way, that the world at it's heart is completely random, is crazy as well; try to imagine an irrational, lawless machine, that operates unexpectedly and in an unexplainable manner. Although I think the future in a way already exists, this doesn't mean I should become careless about tomorrow. Although my decisions in the future are there, I don't yet know about them. I think of life as a movie, where the story and characters are set, and you just sit there watching it. Except in this case we are very much a part of the movie. Now, I do not know what caused the "initial push". There are theories that try to explain it, but I don't think they are testable. Because of this I prefer to think of myself as "religionless" instead of being an atheist. I can not deny the existence of an omnipotent deity (or the matrix), but I'm very firm that any scriptures don't tell much anything about it, and I don't think that the "pusher's" opinions would need to be considered when we decide our morals. - Theists, atheists and new atheists This is maybe what interests me the most in this debate at the moment. I think we are not living a "rise" of atheism at the moment, at least not in a large scale. There may be more talking about the subject, but that's mostly because people are talking more in general nowadays (that's what comes with the information age and all). I doubt the "fighting atheists" that "come out of their cupboards" will achieve much, except for those profiting from book sales. The ideas and arguments are old and if people didn't get them earlier, why would it be any different now? Of course this doesn't mean debating this topic would be pointless. Even if we don't get anywhere (on a national or global level), individual fence-sitters are still looking for these arguments and it's important someone is there to spread the good memes onwards. That was a good read, thanks :)

I am concerned that some 10-20 years from now our kids will find this topic :ohnoes:

Is there a point in trying to "conserve" nature and save species from extinction, when new species could emerge any day? And on another note, shellfish breeding could be pretty exciting.
