Worst shows on TV?
I love that show. Just don't take it too seriously, they like to through sciency stuff around and sometimes it doesn't make sense.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Hey Indie, I see you're a Kevin Smith fan. Have you seen the earlier movies made by Richard Linklater? If you enjoy the Smith movies you might enjoy stuff like Slacker, Dazed & Confused and SubUrbia! ;) Loved Dazed and Confused, been meaning to watch Slacker for a while, haven't heard of SubUrbia but I'll check it out :) .

What movie(s) did you last see?
Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Absolutely [bleep]ing hilarious. Kevin Smith fans will be happy, no Jay and Silent Bob shenanigans but it still feels like a Kevin Smith movie. I think this one would be a good intro to KS movies too for those people who haven't seen any others.

Guess The Movie
Sadly I haven't, always meant to though.

The Offical TIF American Elections thread
I thought Indiana would be a landslide for McCain so I didn't even bother voting for Obama, I voted for Bob Barr instead. Now CNN has Obama less that 7,000 votes behind in Indiana with close to 2,400,000 votes cast. That's something like .03%. I'm going to be pissed if he loses the state by one vote that I was planning on giving him. Not that it matters anyways because it looks like he has it pretty much in the bag already.

Guess The Movie
Congratulations pfilc23! Of the unguessed the only movie I have seen is Vanilla Sky, wouldn't have ever guessed it though :) .

Could a Facist Democracy work?
We've never had a truly capitalist country just like there has never been a truly communist country. Blaming the credit crunch on capitalism is just idiocy. One of the main reasons it happened was the government making it easier for the poorer people to get credit that they really shouldn't have received, and that is not capitalism.

Tipt it and Folding at Home
I thought it was you assassin who made it, but couldn't exactly remember. Looks like I'm not on the team anymore for some reason, I haven't used BOINC in over a year so that's probably why.

Tipt it and Folding at Home
We had a BOINC team here, mostly doing Einstein@Home. It was me and two other people at the height.

Could a Facist Democracy work?
That's a nice quote that's been made thousands of times before. I fail to see what it has to do with democracy though. Yep, everyone likes to repeat that quote for some reason. It always annoyed the [bleep] out of me whenever I tried to debate someone about economics, mostly because I believe it is completely untrue.

Upgrade my computer for $400
Will a PCIx16 V2 card work in a PCIx16 slot? I think I am just going to wait for a while to do a massive upgrade, I'll just buy a video card. Looks like similar pcix16v2 cards are cheaper than the same pcix16.
-
Upgrade my computer for $400
That's what I thought, so if I get a new mo-board I have to get a new processor and new RAM. Although getting one with a PCIx16 v2 slot might be a good idea, since I'm guessing those are better than PCIx16 slots. Then I could get a better video card for the same price as the one I linked to above.

Upgrade my computer for $400
Will a socket 939 processor work in a mo-board with an AM2+ socket? Oh and my dual core Athlon isn't just low end, it's the lowest end ;) (if I remember correctly).
-
Upgrade my computer for $400
What if I just went ahead and bought this and kept everything else the same, do you think ME and GTAIV would play fine on it? Because a new mo-board and all that stuff is really more work than I feel like doing now.

Upgrade my computer for $400
I'd like to play some newer games such as GTAIV and Mass Effect, but I am also kind of on a budget. Specs: Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2gigs DDR400 RAM GeForce 6800GS Those are the parts I want to upgrade, which pretty much means a new motherboard I guess. I have a 500W power supply, case, HDD and DVD drives already. Not going to be doing any overclocking so the power supply should be enough since no extra cooling will be needed. So will I be able to buy a new mother board, RAM, CPU and video card for $400 that would be a significant improvement over what I have? Or should I just say [bleep] it and buy a 360? Also should I go with XP or Vista, since Vista can do DirectX 10, and should I go for the 64bit version or 32bit? Some mods for Oblivion don't work on the 64bit systems so I was just wondering if newer games all are ok with it. EDIT: Oh, it would be cool if the video card had an HDMI/HDCP or whatever they are called output on it. Unless VGA does 720p, because I am using my TV as my monitor. EDIT2: My motherboard has a socket 939 for the CPU so I can't even buy a new CPU for it, also only a PCI express 16 slot, not PCI express v2 16 or whatever it's called.

Why does everyone think governments are evil/out to get us?
While the Bush declaring martial law on election day thing is stupid to worry about, I don't think complaining about domestic spying is a bad thing. Sure right now it is pretty pointless to worry about, but complaining about it now slows down the chances of the programs getting expanded further and further.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Role Models - Another advanced preview, and I'm glad I went to this one. It is by no means a smart comedy, but it is funny and entertaining without being too stupid.

HEROES SPOILER!!
Peter will most definitely get powers back of some sort eventually. Too big of a character to be a normal.
-
HEROES SPOILER!!
He didn't get away with using his powers in front of Mr. Petrelli. Mr. P stated that it didn't seem that Peter hit the ground hard enough.
-
HEROES SPOILER!!
Possible, but that building is full of people with powers that were looking for him and he was close to them. Also he thought he didn't hit the ground as hard as he should have, meaning his fall was slowed somehow.

What movie(s) did you last see?
I've watched a crap load of movies/TV series since I last posted, and a few worth writing reviews over but I'm too lazy. So you get a review of a B-movie I watched instead. The Gingerdead Man - A b-movie horror/comedy about a gingerbread man who kills people. I don't have a lot of experience with b-movies, but if they are like this I can see why people like them. I couldn't watch the same one more than once or twice but that first viewing is hilarious. Drinking a little bit would make it even better. This movie is full of absolutely horrid food-name puns, and stupid one liner jokes. I might write up a review for the sequel, The Gingerdead Man: The Passion of the Crust too.

HEROES SPOILER!!
That's not how Peter's powers work, otherwise he would have gotten all of Sylar's powers also during the first two seasons but he never did.

South park- Season 11 discussion thread
To get the guinea pig thing you would have to have been browsing the net a lot when Cloverfield came out. Basically a lot of people thought that showing the monster was stupid, and that the monster looked stupid. So through the first part of the movie you really don't know exactly what the monster is and that makes it more suspenseful, but after they show it the suspense is lessened. However if they showed it right away then it wouldn't have been a problem.

Ordered and received. CD's and DVD's.
$28, probably wouldn't be worth it if it was any more.

Ordered and received. CD's and DVD's.
Can't remember if I mentioned receiving Veronica Mars complete series, and also Marvel Heroes box set which includes: X-Men trilogy, Elektra, Daredevil, Fantastic 4 and F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
