  1. Ok, I'll take back my edit. You are stupid. Do you not know what is meant by "TOP contributors"? Key word there is top. Obama doesn't have the military amounts listed on there because he gets much more from the other contributors.
  2. No, not really...considering Paul doesn't want a Federal government to exist whatsoever. Oh, by the way, how can branches of the military give to politicians? Methinks your picture is a POS  This is a perfect place for a facepalm picture. Are you really that stupid? The military doesn't give campaign contributions, the head of the military is the current President and he would always just give it to either himself or his party. The soldiers are the ones that are contributing, just like the rich bankers are the ones that are contributing to McCain and Obama. EDIT: The calling you stupid was probably uncalled for but you used the rolling eye smiley when you were wrong, and it's extremely [bleep]ing annoying even when you agree with a person.
  3. Obama and McCain both want the bailout to pass, Paul does not. Do you think maybe there is a connection here? The politicians who want the bailout to pass get [cabbage]-loads of money from the people they are bailing out.
  4. I'm not ignoring your reply assassin, I don't know enough about economics to reply well enough though, so I'll let someone else who knows more than I do. We're not talking about taking money from the rich, we are talking about not giving them money that the average person paid in taxes.
  5. Equilibrium. It's a little more than mindless action but the action is great. Hmm, a comedy could be good for me too. Can be anything from a dry comedy like Wes Anderson's movies to a stupid-funny movie like the Jackass movies. Bonus if it is Sci-Fi oriented.
  6. You are repeating the FUD that the rich bankers and politicians in their pockets are saying. If the bailout doesn't pass these companies don't cease to exist, they go bankrupt. That doesn't mean they don't own anything anymore, they still have a lot of capitol. Mainly they will just under go changes including new management (getting rid of the [bleep]ers that caused this) and probably some asset liquidation, which will result in new business opportunities. Oh and GM (or Ford, can't remember) just received a $25 billion bailout just a few weeks ago. This is another example or corporate control over the politicians so that the managers can continue to make millions a year while their companies are failing. If they weren't given a bailout they could finally declare bankruptcy and divide into smaller companies under new management that would actually be forced to make a decent car so their company could survive. Corporate welfare aka bailouts only help the rich, no matter how much fear about economic collapse the media spread you have to remember that.
  7. Probably, I did however think it was pretty cool. The Haitian recovered a little too quickly though.
  8. Except this bill wasn't going to return anything to us at all. Much of the money was planned on being given to Chinese and Middle Eastern banks, with no chance of the American people getting it back. The people who caused this problem, the managers of the banks who were lending out money to anyone who asked are going to be the only people getting anything out of this, they will continue to get their million dollar a month paychecks. This bill will just help the rich, while letting these companies go bankrupt could put us in a recession now that is much better than an all out depression later because the middle and lower classes are being taxed an extra $5000 a year. I'm sorry, I don't feel like getting taxed a few grand more a year so that these bank manager [bleep]ers can keep their huge [wagon] houses and multiple cars.
  9. This episode was much better.
  10. Economist explains why the bailout was a bad plan
  11. EDIT: Oh and I just wanted to put my two cents in, I was against the bill. The main mortgage problem started back in '99 when the Clinton administration pressured to artificially lower interest rates so poor people would buy houses they couldn't afford. Now because of increased prices in food and gas those poor people can barely afford to survive anymore, and their biggest payments (house) they just don't pay. So is this all the poor peoples fault? Of course not, at the time because of the artificially low interest rates they were living within their means by buying houses that they normally wouldn't be able to afford. The Dow going down 778 points isn't as bad as it sound either. Overall that was a 7% drop in a day, right after 9/11 there was something like a 15% drop and that didn't cause a depression. What it just means now is that a decent amount of rich people just became a little less rich. For 95% of the population it's just a bump on the road, when you invest in stocks you invest for long term (like 20+ years) and this won't be that big of a difference. Also if you don't have any investments started and have some extra money lying around today would be a good day to buy before the market goes back up. EDIT2: My first point was just to point out that this wasn't the problem of free market capitalism, wasn't taking a stab at Democrats.
  12. Just ordered Weeds seasons 1-3 (haven't watched a single second of it, buying blind) and Jericho season 2.
  13. I have nothing against remakes, I just don't see the point in remaking this one since it looks exactly the same. Also giving away the entire movie in the trailer was pretty lame.

I watch it too, and I can easily say this has been one of the biggest let downs of a TV show I have seen. It's already formulaic after three episodes. The acting is fine most of the time but sometimes it gets pretty bad. Definitely expected more from JJ Abrams.
  15. Out of curiosity I rolled up all my change, came out to be $173 plus about $3 I couldn't roll. Probably not going to turn it in for a while, I always feel stupid when I do that for some reason.
  16. Just checked SPS again, you are right. I thought they meant the air date was TBA but that was just episode title. Should have looked harder.
  17. [hide=]Yeah, if he hadn't come back then the future he was in was what happened, but since he did come back his future doesn't happen (although the new one may not be better). However, since his future never happened future Peter never exists, which means he couldn't come back to change it. The only possible explanation for this is that future Peter's future still exists, in which case him coming back changed absolutely nothing in his future except he isn't there anymore and our future is just an alternate timeline. That's OK if they want to take that route out but ultimately it means Peter just chose to jump to a different timeline that he thought would be better, and let his timeline fall to even more pieces, screwed up the alternate timeline more, and screwed up our Peter and Parkman. God damnit time travel sucks. Oh and I think Claire is different now because she doesn't feel pain anymore, which makes her even less of a human than she already was in her eyes.[/hide] Do we really need to use hide tags at this point? It's TV season now, there is going to be discussions about each episode. I know in the Lost thread we didn't bother with hide tags.
  18. I use a credit card for most things, so I don't deal with much change. I do get it everynow and then and just keep it, I have close to $150 in change now. Don't feel like taking it to a bank though.
  19. I love thinking while watching television. That's why I'm still a fan of Lost even after most people stopped watching. Time travel is just stupid, there are always plot holes and paradoxes though like I said earlier. When done in a semi-realistic fashion and taking into account multiple time-lines/universes to take care of the paradoxes and plot holes then I'm OK with it. Just look at the movie Primer, which is also a good movie if you want your brain to explode from trying to keep track of everything.
  20. Really? In films and tv programmes? I love it myself. Yep, too many plot holes and paradoxes.
  21. Man, I hate time travel. Absolutely hate it.
  22. First and foremost, comics: That's about 1100 of them, there are around 500 more stored away. I also have a few crazy collections: Every cardboard box comics get shipped in that I order online (currently around 17 boxes) Every shopping bag I get from the comic store each week (about 100 bags) DVD packaging: A DVD usually comes with plastic shrink wrapped around it and then 1 to 3 stickers on the sides to keep it from being opened easily. I have two wads of packaging so far, since after a while the wads get to big to fit inside a regular DVD shrink wrap packaging. TV shows have much bigger packaging though so it doesn't stop there, but the bigger wad is too big for single season TV shows now.
  23. I've watched a couple episodes of south park, and it seems all the humor is cartman and his little kid friends saying jesus christ. Also looks like it took 2 seconds to make. On topic, I just watched the American Dad episode where Bush comes to their home, and even though I hate the series, I must say I was quite impressed by the humor in that episode. Not as much as family guy tho 2 seconds to... stop motion animation takes a hell of a lot of time to make dude Are you retarted? South Park is CGI you idiot.... The average episode takes maybe three days to make. OT: While American Dad! isn't as funny as Family Guy or Futurama, it's a hell of a lot better than Crap Park and it's way better than Canadian Dad!, Mexican Dad!, or Iraqian Dad! Really? i always thought it was stop motion. aw well i was wrong then It was stop motion at the beginning but not for long. Since then they've been using an intentionally dumbed down version of an animation program like all other cartoons do.
  24. What is (was?) Toonami?
  25. The new season started over six months ago, the first seven episodes aired the six weeks after that. The second half of season 12 is planned to start in October, no dates yet though. This was just bumped up to mention that the Imaginationland episodes won an emmy.
