Guess The Movie
Hamlet 2 wasn't even out when this contest started. It was a pretty funny movie though...

Could 'Watchmen' Get Delayed to 2010?
That would suck, but most likely they will just settle with Warner Bros giving Fox some money and releasing it on time.

Kid Kills Himself Recreating Halo
Yep, people tend to blame what they don't care about. Hence the parents blaming the video game, and everyone in this thread blaming the parents/the gun. At 11 I had access to a .22 and even bigger guns, I would have never thought about playing around with one. The main rule of gun safety is never point it at something unless you plan on shooting it, even if you know for a fact the gun is unloaded and the safety is on and your finger isn't on the trigger.

Watch Speed Racer if you skipped on it
Carlo was right, the movie wasn't bad. Looking at the movie objectively it was ok, the effects were interesting and the story was good, the acting was ok. It's a kids movie, don't forget that. But if you want to rate it with it being Speed Racer in mind, the movie was perfect. It is exactly what a Speed Racer movie should be.

Ol' Fashioned Records
The record player I got was probably the cheapest one there, from some brand I never heard of it. It works perfectly fine. The USB one Daan linked to would probably be best to record on the computer, but I just use an adapter cord for mine (red/white to 1/8th inch headphone jack) and put it in the line in on the sound card.

American Dad! :pleasekillme:
Yep, me too. I'm a very big fan of Family Guy, and if American Dad wasn't from Seth MacFarlane as well, I might've liked it. But it's exactely like Futurama: you know it's from the mastermind behind a milestone in the history of television, so you automatically compare it to it and find it weaker than its bigger brother. You trying to say that Futurama is worse than Simpsons? Honestly I found Futurama so much better than the simpsons, it's a pitty it got canceled when it did. What I loved is that Futurama had a pretty good plot line throughout the shows, especially one that really got amazing during the last season. I also think Futurama is better than the Simpsons, the Simpsons may have had 4 or 5 great seasons out of 19 or whatever but Futurama goes 4 for 4 being great, with some episodes being better than great. I like American Dad and Family Guy about the same.

Ordered and received. CD's and DVD's.
Bought a few more movies, strange since I've bought more in the past few days that I did the entire last year. That's ignoring TV shows of course, which I buy steadily. Alien Quadrilogy Sunshine 3:10 to Yuma Shoot 'Em Up Jackass 2.5 The Darjeeling Limited Stardust Once American Gangster

Watch Speed Racer if you skipped on it
Really? I thought about checking it out but also decided not to because of reviews... I guess I'll have to see it then.

the $100 laptop
If you had read the topic you would know it doesn't get plugged in. Either solar powered or a manual crank. Manual cranking? That's a first. It's actually pretty cool when you think about it. If I had a laptop I wouldn't mind being able to recharge it at any time just by cranking a generator around. I don't know what the ratio of crank-time to up-time is though.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Stargate "Stargate SG-1" seasons 1-10 (complete series) Stargate: The Ark of Truth Stargate: Continuum "Stargate: Atlantis" seasons 1-5e6 (currently airing last season) A month and a half ago I had never watched anything Stargate related, except maybe a minute or two of the original movie. Three movies and 313 (42 minutes a piece, you do the math ;) ) episodes later I have seen pretty much everything in the regular Stargate continuity. There's just too much to talk about, so I'll just say I definitely enjoyed it. I didn't think SG1 really picked up until a few seasons in, but Atlantis was pretty good the entire time. The two movies were basically just long episodes, and they follow the SG1 team. The original movie is a Roland Emmerich movie, which explains it pretty well. Neither of the TV series would make it into my top 5 but they are still enjoyable.

Currently Reading
There have been a few book topics around but they usually die after a few pages, we did have a book club going for a while, and by a while I mean we picked the first book and never got any further. I finished the Ender's series a little while ago, while I really liked the first book the rest of them all I could think of was how pretentious they were. Also I was listening to them because they were audio books, and the people were sounding really annoying. Currently not reading anything, just finished The Iliad and The Odyssey circa 600-800 BC and then The Penelopiad circa 2000s AD. The Iliad was about the Trojan war around 1200BC, then The Odyssey was the ten years after that and The Penelopiad was concurrent with the Odyssey. Surprised with how much I liked The Iliad, at first disappointed with The Odyssey but was ok with it by the end, The Penelopiad was interesting but way too quick of a read (took like 45 minutes).

Worst shows on TV?
A few fairly reasonable responses. Most of the time "worst" topics consist of a ton of popular shows that for some reason that particular poster doesn't like, and even though they aren't that bad they get mentioned. That's why I think "best" and "worst" topics aren't really all that great, movies that are mediocre get put into both categories to cause controversy. Much better topics would be "favourite" and "least favourite". "Must see" topics are usually just a person's favourite movies also so they might as well just be called favourite. Now there are posters that will distinguish between favourite, best and must see but they are few and far between. I'm not complaining too much though, there usually is a lot of cross-over between the categories.

What movie(s) did you last see?
Haven't been watching movies very much lately because of going through the Stargate series (currently season 10 of SG1 and 3 of Atlantis) for quite a while now. Anyways went to the theater today to see: Hamlet 2 - This was [bleep]ed up and hilarious. There is some stupid funny in there, and some just plain stupid, but a lot of it is great.
