What's wrong? The abyss was always intended to be dangerous. Hence the skulling, and prayer drain. And why it was released in the wilderness in the first place. The reward, fast(er) RCing, was well worth the risk. At the moment, there is almost zero risk. And it's just as boring as any other RCing, because there is no threat whatsoever. The PKers made it fun, believe it or not. And besides, you can just BUY your pouches back now, no need to waste time killing abyssal creatures for them anymore.

Why's everyone whining about that not being the ingame graphics? Looks a lot like what we have to me. It's not like that trailer was an HD CGI. The only thing that we don't have is that quest, that cutscene, or any weapons and armor or spells that look like that. And of course we view our characters from above instead of at cinematic friendly angles. This could very well be a vision of what is to come though. I'd love some quest cutscenes to be rendered like this :thumbup:

Yeah, I forgot about that one. And also, items like claws and other armor should drop in price because they are dropped rather than destroyed. Will be nice to see claws and other expensive items in drop piles instead of "Lool gf claws, gf bandos".

You can call it fighting too hard, but to me giving up freedoms is tantamount to surrender. And of course I saw it coming. It dosen't take a seer to figure that out. Sure I couldn't possibly forsee the specifics of how it would happen, but people will ALWAYS find ways round restrictions. No exceptions. The only way you can prevent it is if you take away all forms of player interaction, all trade.

Yeah I think OVLs and extremes will be in new wildy because honestly how can you even stop it? Tell you to GTFO at the wildy wall? Stop you from teleporting into the wild with them? But what if you want to fight KBD or choas elemental with extremes?

Really? Because removing the wilderness and free trade in the first place looked a hell of a lot more like surrender to me than this. With this measure they've just finally realized that "Utopia" does not justify the means that they've employed, especially since they've not stopped the problems they were meant to stop anyway, and they've brought about problems of their own, ie manipulation clans, unbuyable items, and things like that.

All I need to know is that junk trading and manipulation clans will be gone. Scammers didn't really affect me because I'm not stupid/absent minded enough to fall for their cheap tricks. Those two however affected everyone. X is being merched? Too bad, you can't buy X until they dump it. X has "street"? Too bad, because the likelihood that anyone even has enough junk to cover it is low, and you probably would have to offer other items with "street" or "risings". Items like divines obviously won't have prices in the 1b+ range. They only had a "street" of over 1b because, surprise, junk actually has some value. It was useful for lending out big ticket items for 600k/12-24h. Of course when free trade comes again junk will be useless because you can lend for whatever you want without balancing the trade. I'm a bit disappointed that Jagex didn't put free trade and wild in two separate polls. I'm not sure I like wild coming back to all worlds, though knowing that I would still vote yes for the sake of free trade. I hope they bring back free trade soon instead of waiting to release it with wild, because as they said bringing back the wild will entail moving a lot of content out of the wilderness, like the quests, minigames etc.

From what MMG has said graves will stay outside of wildy, and as you said will likely "drop" from the grave after it degrades. I hope it isn't like this though. Because if it is, nobody will bless your grave, hoping that it will degrade before you get there so they can steal your stuff. I could see this happening even on GWD teams, especially PuG's of course.

They have quest requirements, which for some bizarre reason excludes them from the lending system. Wait just a damned minute - dosen't the dragon scimitar require monkey madness? According to rswiki you can lend those...

It's not really a matter of deserving, but it would definitely do some people some good. You don't conduct trades near the wilderness for the same reason you don't go meet your friends at the local slum. Sheltering people from the realities of the world is a lot like teaching them to be complete germaphobes. In the longrun, it dosen't prevent you from ever getting sick, it just severely weakens your immune system.

Prepare for hearing that sentence a lot more in the future then. Now they have to choose an item, start buying it out, wait several weeks for the price to rise and then sell. Without price ceilings, they buy out and are able to sell immediately. Notice the text in bold please. So basically they try to buy all of one item and then essentially raise the price on it. OK, but at least people can actually buy it if they don't want to wait instead of having to go through this junk trading nonsense. And that's assuming everyone still uses the GE after free trade. I imagine lots of people would start using trade worlds for some of the bigger items rather than just selling them on the GE.

Oldtime merching without restrictions nor price ceilings WITH the ease of buying your stock in the GE. :unsure: And you think this won't mess up the market... (ever heard of price manipulation? those manipulators have more cash than ever before in their hands to play the market) Lol with GE you can manipulate prices and you don't even have to lie about anything. Just buy out something, and watch the price rocket up. I'm sick to my eyeballs of hearing "Why can't I buy X", "Because X is being merched atm".

They never said graves would be removed. Or even that wild would be in all worlds. And as for scamming and luring, who cares? It might actually do that naive 10 year old some good. Better it happens in a game than something similar in real life.

I don't see why divines and other spirit shields weren't made lendable in the first place.

If removal of free trade is justified by less rwt, scamming, ect then I guess limitation of free speech and similar restrictions would justify security and such IRL. Which is a complete farce of course, because no matter what kind of draconian restrictions you put in place, people will always find ways around them, and more often than not the only people you end up inconveniencing are innocents. I think it's high time we said down with manipulation clans, junk trading, and this 76King nonsense in favor of the return of scammers. Because if you fall for the same scam more than once, you deserve to be scammed. It's a hard lesson to learn, but it's a practical lesson that can even carry over to real life as this "IRL" mmo is absolutely swamped with scamming, corruption and the like. Maybe when little billy gets scammed out of his full rune, later in life he'll be less likely to believe that he actually won a contest that he never even entered.

Looking at the goings on today I've come up with a theory as to what Jagex has planned: This vote is only a preliminary vote, not a final decision. Why you ask? Well looking at TIF's vote on this thread it's quite clear that the RS community as it is now is pretty much 50/50 on this issue. Or 60/40... whatever. But you have to consider that a LOT of people quit following the 2007 updates. There used to be a lot more people online during peak hours prior to that. So perhaps this vote is just to get the attention of the entire runescape community, including those who quit, so this issue can be taken to a PROPER vote. The networking site links along with the encouragement to spread the word indicates to me that this might just be the case.

I too would like to see a one person, one vote poll on the subject. I'd actually be curious to know to what degree people are in support or against it. Do they want it back as is? With modifications? Just free trade and no wild? What about staking? Jagex's poll seems to be just "do you want free trade and wild" without any kind of advanced options like they usually have on their other polls.

Cool, finally a prize that isn't membership. Well anyway you probably have a 10x better chance of going to dust devils once a month, killing one of them, and getting a dragon chain than winning one of these prizes. I think a better way of rewarding loyal players would be looking at the backlog of how many months total each account has been a member and giving them one entry per month of membership for 12 months.

Consider the fact that the door has been there since the release of godwars. Why is there a door with the symbols of all four gods on it? Where did the Godsword come from, anyway? Without speculating further, those two unanswered questions alone open up the possibility that zaros was beginning to re-emerge near the end of the god wars, and was sealed away.

Thanks. And as for 90 farm/con, well not the most useful skills IMO. If I can get 99 herb on bonus exp weekend and get 1500 OVL's out of it, that would be pretty useful. I'm actually going for 85 farm right now anyway, which will be useful for farming lycopus in dung. Con will be raised to 85 as well when I have the spare cash. Not going to buy the torstols right now, they're still dropping from the last bonus exp weekend. I guess I just gotta cross my fingers that they won't announce the next one before torstols drop to 35k each... and that Jagex dosen't totally nerf herblore on the exp weekend like they did summoning.

After this Ima probably horde like 1.5k torstols away for bonus exp weekend for 99 herb.
