  1. I'd be selling on forums if I had junk, but in the meantime I think I'll hold onto them and see what they do. They're supposedly a very rare drop, so I anticipate they'll go up in price pretty quickly, especially if their special is as useful as I hope it is. They can't go any lower at this point and I doubt they ever will. damn jackass! nah' just kidding smart move actually, go to dual arena and test the special :D  I am atm. I LOVE THESE THINGS. They have 13 more slash attack than dragon dagger + defender, and 11 more strength. And let's not forget that they have def bonuses ; like +10 more than defender, so that beats defender too. I'm utterly destroying people. Even a guy with a DFS+ whip got 2 hit. 5/5 duels I 2 speced them. Yes, this time they had armor on.

  3. :D :D :D [hide=][/hide] Like my second dragon drop, ever. I took them to the duel arena too. Shredded some people with no armor, not sure how it would fare against someone WITH armor (probally not to well) but if it's as accurate and fast as a dragon dagger, and it has the same number of hits for the special bar but in two specials... defiantly a solid 1up on it.
  4. I agree. I think most people finished it in around 6-7 hours without a guide, and I'm definitely wanting a harder quest for next time. Hopefully we won't have to wait long for the next Grandmaster quest (maybe number 150? :) ) Yeah, remember when they said they were working on a huge quest? The first time? They said "Not necessarily for release in '08". I can't be certain, but perhaps they were alluding to this huge quest being a sequel to the one they released this year? And yeah as you mentioned, 150 is coming up, and they did something special for 50 (legends) and 100 (RFD) so it stands to reason they would do something extra special for their 150'th.
  5. Couldn't agree more. The only dragon items they did right were the ones that were sold in shops or are otherwise easily obtainable. The only boss monsters they did right were the ones that actually have unique drops (GWD, corp, DKs). I mean c'mon. The KQ's drop: D chain and 2h. Bronze-Steel dragons: Dragon leggings. Miths: Dragon full helm. Chaos element: D2H. Rofl. Now these demons: Dragon plate pieces and claws. Dragon, dragon, dragon. Who really cares about it anymore. Every piece they end up releasing with a boss monster as a ridiculously rare drop ends up being so stupidly expensive for its usefulness that the only people you see wearing it are rich showoffs. A lot of the useful dragon weapons had quest reqs, I don't see why they couldn't have made the armors and ect. buyable as a reward from quests. That would not only give you some incentive to quest, but then you'd actually see people using it as ARMOR instead of a status symbol (which by the way we have pleanty of. Rares, 3a, you name it). Or, ya' know, they could have just made dragon items drop at a more reasonable rate from bosses and give those bosses unique, useful, and very rare drops in addition.
  6. Melee is probably the best. If you're having that much trouble hitting it, try veracs. Just make sure you super set + piety also and you'll be able to kill it in no time. By the way, watch for when it switches combat styles. When it switches to a particular combat style, it will stay on that style for a little while, so you can keep switching protection prayers when you see it switch to melee/range/magic to avoid a lot of the damage. If you don't use protection prayers though, it won't switch combat styles, though I'm fairly certain if you try to safespot it while its in melee mode it will switch. I could be wrong though, worth a try if you're really desperate.
  7. I believe someone said that you use fire blasts (or maybe fire waves) on the dragon skulls in the orb room. Don't take me completely at my word, but I believe that's what someone meant. Not true, u cast the spell and have nowhere to use it, no option HELP APRECIATED THX Use fire wave on the dragon skulls. I just did it.
  8. I'm just wondering right now where the dragonkin forge fits into all of this. And the room beyond the mithril door with the huge orb... thing. It was never used during the quest :?
  9. I hope the sequel doesn't take like a year to come out. After doing that quest, I can't wait to get my revenge on lucien for killing all of those prominent NPCs. Especially that guy from dream mentor. I mean you teach the guy to overcome his fears, and he gets snuffed out, just like that. Pisses me off. And I want that stone of Jas back... after I've had a taste of its power...
  10. Epic quest was epic  Best quest by far. By like, a hundred times. The 400k exp and 10m was really just the awesomely awesome icing on the awesome cake :D
  11. I don't know if anyone's figured this out yet, but to fuse the key together you use it on a mithril dragon, which yeields a dragonkin key. I then used that on the mithril door which unsurprisingly opened it, revealing a room with a large orb in the center surrounded by skeletal dragon heads hanging from the ceiling. No exactly sure what the use of the room is yet.
  12. Yeah, I'm stuck on the part where Reldo asked me to find an expert on Karamjan animals or something. Who do I talk to?
  13. I think the price on nats has fallen enough, thank you. I know unlike other processing skills the products of RC are actually consumed en masse, but if you made RC as fast as any other processing skill you'd have tons of people with the ability to craft multiples. Even if you produce less along the way to 91, it simply can't remain (very) profitable if you have too many people trying to make money off of double nats. The insanely slow exp is a good thing for this skill. It's prohibitively slow enough that only the most patient will ever achieve 91 and beyond, and thus the crowd of people with that level remains relatively small, which keeps it very profitable for much longer.
  14. Ancienting is fun. After 20k points has been reached, which is really easy to do, there isn't really much point to try and get more since you're only allowed 1 tool per game. PKing = free magic exp. And hell, you should really get as much of that in before Jagex takes that out. No telling how stingy they'll be on the combat exp bonuses for the gear.
  15. Yeah I think that would be a great idea. Somehow I doubt they'd ever do that, but they would certainly be wise to... I can't remember where I heard this story, and I'm basically just paraphrasing, but there was a University that had a problem with students not walking on the paved walkways and cutting across the grass. So what they did was they tore out the pavement and observed where the students walked. So they paved the paths across which the students walked... and they never had a problem with students walking on the grass ever again. If Jagex would be more open to their players about the fine details of their future updates and listen to the feedback of the people that actually play the friggin' game I don't think they'd ever have that big of a problem balancing things out. Of course the final decisions would still be theirs, but at least they would know where they stand before they ever even released something.
  16. I'm hoping they put a bank or something in the SC lobby. Having to run to BH to get my tool after every game so I can add 10 more charges to it is annoying. I wonder if the combat weapons will give double combat experience? If it does, it might be worth using even if the stats are like a rune scim what with all the insane bonuses you can get at the level 85 zombies. Knowing Jagex though it'll have some annoying catch like having to wear the whole set to get the bonus
  17. Wow this is the second filler update we've gotten in anticipation of the new quest. Twice now they've made my adrenaline kick in for a few seconds after viewing frontpage updates waiting for this new quest. I swear they're messing with us on purpose. :wall:
  18. It's so hard to choose. Just about everything they've released lately has been skimpy on rewards to the point where they're never revisited, and let's not forget their oh-so-necessary nerfing. Some of their minigames play more like a chore than a game, yet they still come with next to no reward. The SC game is actually fun I'll admit, but yet again, very stingy on rewards. Makes me wonder if the new quest will have anything worthwhile.
  19. Also got 134 combat with it. Yes I'm going to get it to 99 eventually, but I only have 42m cash at the moment and... I'm getting carpal tunnel just thinking about it. Going for all 80+ skills at the moment; working on hunter. I'm coming up on 2100 total too, so expect that soon(ish). :
  20. This is a bit of a stretch, but perhaps they'll allow for the crafting of elemental/cataclysmic runes? Along with this they could make special high-leveled spells that specifically use cataclysmic/elemental runes... possibly even make it to where you have to be wielding the staff of armadyl to use them. As to how the runes would be crafted, the most obvious answer to that would the the ZMI altar. It's broken atm, so maybe you can fix it during the quest allowing you to combine one of each rune together by channeling them through an omni-staff... or the staff of armadyl.
  21. ^ Yeah, if it wasn't obvious enough that you were using your name to censor evade, that pretty much puts the nail in that coffin. Perma-ban seems a little harsh, but hey, you broke a rule, you have to live with the consequences. Sorry. :|
  22. I've been feeling like this a lot lately, too. I even posted something in "leaving tip.it" because I was so sick of the attitude toward newer members... and yeah, I got bored and came back within like 3-4 days -.- . I'll admit, I haven't always been the nicest, most mature person, and even now I do have my moments, but it still sickens me when I see one of these so called "noobs" being treated like scum. They're just kids. They have every right to be playing this GAME that we do. I think some of us just take all of this way too seriously.
  23. Yes, just now as we're expecting a huge update they put this up there. And I get a tad excited when I see it before I quickly realize what it is. They always do that... :wall:
  24. Wow, this thread is oold. I have that much in pure cash now. And that's after I spent a bunch of my cashpile on skills. Combat: 133 Total: 2078 Networth: ~120-150m. Not exactly sure. Haven't gone through the bank in a fair while.
  25. Guides mostly. Only quest I've ever done without a guide was RFD, on the first day. It was hell. I think quest guides are great for people like me who just want the storyline and rewards and don't want to spend hours trying to figure something out. I get a kick out of people who use guides and say quests aren't hard enough though... quests are plenty hard when you don't have someone else doing all the thinking for you.
