  1. the ring of stone increases your speed while in rock mode by 900% i swear
  2. See, all the mod has to do is fill in the blanks and maybe add something about third party websites and presto, another customers service reply is born. uhh, the mod obviously read the writer's suggestion or he wouldn't have said anything about the third party website. just because it sounds like a "generic customer service reply" doesn't mean the mod is just sending out random replies. It REALLY looks like he took the time to read the sender's message and didn't use a template. The mod's have STRICT rules in how they can talk to players, that's why the message sounds so generic. What do you expect? do you expect jagex not to spell check?? Or do you expect them to speak in incomplete sentences? Or to speak casually to you even though you're talking to someone repping their company?? come on now. You're just suspicious of it because of how professional the response looks. Which is ridiculous
  3. 200m exp in every skill is getting level 99-in every skill- 15 times over so if you had a maxed out character with 99 in everything, he would 1/15th of the way to being a 'totally maxed out' character. Plus since the game is still growing with new skills i'd imagine his actual distance from totally maxed out would be ridiculously higher than that This post prompted me to go look at the highscores and it astounded me how many people have level 99 like 8 or 9 times over  kinda sick how 100,000,000 attack exp isn't even good for fifth place. I can't even wrap my head around doing that. If you somehow found a way to exp for 10 hours a day and get 1 million exp, that's 100 days of that. so nasty
  4. yes, but instead of making pentagons, this made nothing. Thank god someone wrote this so I didn't have to. I was bored yesturday and drew out the lines of Glory teleports. Relised it was an arrow and expanded from there. wow you got lucky to find such an amazing pattern on the first try  Thats brilliant! you're insane. I spent like 10 minutes trying to come up with a good response telling you why you're insane but there's so much insanity going on that it would take me forever to cover all the points. I'll just leave it at this : there's so much arbitrary conjecture in this post that it goes beyond sense. now... the guy who first said florida looks like a wang, there's a sharp guy who has his PHD in pattern recognization :XD:
  5. eh I don't see it as very useful. Even for pest control I think initiate armor is much better for an 'all out offense' character. I guess if you are 59 defense or less it would be the best armor available though but for the wilderness : it's so hard to get that even if you could pick it up in theory, it'd be like bringing a fire cape into the wild and risking it. I don't think you'll see them all over the wilderness just like you don't see firecapes or the autocast guthix staff from pest control. It just takes too much to obtain these items, and adds too little to your character's strength to make it worthwhile but I could be wrong. edit : I_d_r said it better than I could in one sentence
  6. I'm trying to figure out how that would work.. but i can't. In RSC, you needed to hold down the mouse button on the coins to put how much you wanted. It would be blatantly obvious that somebody was trying to scam you. I think he's saying the person put it up and instantly took it away before quickly accepting the offer, or using a macro to accept, in order immediately send it to the final confirmation screen. I believe what he says, the trade screen in rsc moved MUCH faster than it does in RS. you could get thorugh all the screens almost instantly and if you weren't paying attention ouch. My most idiotic stuff : Selling last 2 greens before they hit an INSANE price jump. oldschool idiocy : Keeping a santa hat on classic hahaha...I still have it there. I don't know exactly how many santas I had when I kept one on classic, but I'm pretty sure it was >10 since I kept one on classic. Those were all sold for probably around a mil or less \ oh well i was online for both drops and could've horded them for <20k each (probably a ton less if i hit up lumbridge and just offered n00bs 1k for their santa/halloween stashes) at least i have a pretty decent excuse for selling em. How could i expect them to be worth tens of millions when i saw them myself FALLING FROM THE SKY (almost literally) and then every idiot around wearing them around for the next few months because they were so common. There's no way I could picture something i saw fall from the sky, with my own eyes, as being a great investment opportunity
  7. Should a mathmatician have EVERY theorem memorized? Should a chemist know the entire periodic table by heart? just because he's level 120 doesn't mean he knows everything, just like you wouldn't expect the chemist to have the atomic mass of polonium memorized. I could know the atomic mass of polonium just like you could know how to ecto. It does NOT mean i'm better at chemistry than the chemist or that you're better at runescape than the 120 AT ALL. you seem to be under the impression that learning every small nook of the game is important...with 30 skills and over 100 quests...not really To answer your questions, pretty much yes. And pertaining to the second boldface part, with the usual year or so it takes to get 120 combat (or at least it should), one generally picks up things like how to Ecto. Not every 120 is going to know where every single elf spawns in the forest, but Ecto isn't exactly a trivial matter like that. Before Gilded Altars Ecto was the best way to get Prayer experience, the best- I wouldn't call that a "small nook of the game." That's why his post is significant. to this player, ecto is clearly a trivial matter. I'll say it again : with 30 skills and 120 quests it is up to you to determine what you find trivial and not. if you don't see something as important you can simply ignore it to level 120 and beyond as this player did ;) And it's perfectly acceptable (clearly) Regarding the first part of my last post : You answered my VERY retorical questions with a 1 word response. wow simply stunning. I'll say you're in 8th grade, 9th grade tops.
  8. you're a little more than 1/4th of the way there and you won't see a vast increase in your exping speed the whole rest of the way. It's so linear that you can probably oddball the amount of time it's going to take by getting 100k exp at that spot and multiplying it out to 13 million. Would give you a nice over-estimate of how long it will take. good luck... Sick to see a 100 combat pure f2p. I couldn't imagine not having attack potions, dragon weapons, barrows, whip, all the nice training spots, pest control....

  10. Pest control is an automatic win if you hold out for 20 minutes. When is the last time you A.) Saw a game that lasted more than 5 minutes? and B.) Had a game last more than 5 minutes afterwhich win or lose people didn't leave to another world because "this world sux". The entire concept behind pest control is a lot of fun, but not when people play it the way they do where every game is over in under 2 minutes. even with bad players pest control ends in under five minutes. I don't know what you want? a long drawn out pest control game isn't fun to me *shrug* for those laughing at the wilderness abilities of PCers, a 'pro' of playing pest control : you get a LOT better at controlling your character than you would sitting at bandit camp with Guthans. You might say "wtf? you just click where you want to go" WRONG. The path-finding in runescape is notoriously bad. There is a huge difference in someone controlling their character sufficiently and being really good at it. last time I checked--the wilderness noobs AREN'T the ones who can move around good, have very pumped combat stats, and can switch dagger very smoothly (I know i can, I practice it every pc :) ) think of how good you got at moving around PC with all the moving obstacles and how much better you are at it today thank you were the first time you tried pest control. Youll be that much better at it everywhere in rs too ;) Also, to say you get to know the world better training outside pest control...Give me a break! after 80 you just slouch at the best spots with your dharoks or whip for hours on end. With the time i save playing pest control i could explore the world a thousand times over. If jagex put in a way to train combat that had a social aspect like pest control i'd be all over it. Sadly I don't enjoy sitting alone under the barbarian village farming ankous all day
  11. the minigame is gonna be awesome.. that is until it becomes empty..like castlewars...and pest control... why again do we have 100+ servers of empty mini games again?? Its not like anyones running pest control on server X right now (where X is any number over 10) How about only putting the mini games in SOME of the servers so they're never empty because 6-8 months down the line the game gets repetitious and the popularity of the game goes down. The popularity will go down over time--that can't be helped--But why should the minigame not continue to be played? (or be played on a much much smaller scale) really sucks to not have 100 vs 100 castlewars anymore. World 2 castle wars used to be the place on friday night it got MASSIVE. I distinctly remember resubbing for it one weekend when i was bored and not being disappointed. Now I go there and it's just like what the heck, this isn't the castlewars i was playing >1 year ago. 15 on 15 is zzzz compared to the old school stuff for me. I can't find a good pest control world anymore. And don't really want to run it with a clan ( that would be maximizing all possible repetitiveness of the game, no thanks ) Oh well I'm gonna just be glad they add a new one everytime they let their old one die and be sure to play this new one a lot. I bet they've actually learned a lot from the last 2 games. I noticed a lot of things i liked better about pest control over castlewars.
  12. The warrior master on tut island is in full dragon 8-)
  13. preettty sure my 1 smithing 1 cooking at level 97 has everyone beat only got fishing exp because of evil bob :( oh and I started as a miner and was 10 mining up until a few weeks ago  how sick!
  14. uhhh, this just in : the game has been easy for a long time it isn't free lumbridge teleport that is making the game easier, it's dharoks, whips and dragon items and all of the new areas added for training (PC) This game has been a lot easier since runescape 2 came out, you need to chill out. they didn't add anything that made the game groundbreakingly easy, they just added stuff that makes the game easier for new players. If you cry yourself to sleep at night over THIS update because you think it makes the game easier, then you should've quit when they added pest control
  15. Yes, the people who first evented the "pure" and better pking tactics were the so called "geniouses," but most pkers are just people with alot of gold pieces who drop trade loads of stuff to noob accounts, and go kill other players with them. :XD: ive never understood this argument. Even if drop trading were, somehow, impossible--people would make a new character and make money off something like mining or fishing to fund their pure. the drop trading just speeds up the process. without drop trading pures would take even more time for an average player to make and--therefore would be even more lethal because they'd still be low combat level but would take even more invested time and would be FAR stronger than the majority. (a drop traded, well skilled pure of level x may take 500 hours, one built from scratch may take 2000 to get to same level x) imagine being one of the few pures amongst your level group?
  16. wow what a bore this update is going to be aside from the sound update which is pretty good but I think most people listen to music while playing. does anyone remember when they used to add mechanics to the game instead of a quest with some reward, and extended the map a little? ...pest control was a few months ago they can stop riding it and come out with something new again, or at least tell us there are plans to come out with something other than a quest & slight map extension for the rest of runescape? why even do "behind the scenes" if they're just going to tell us that its more weekly quests =P Use that space for updates that are new and exciting maybe? It's more along the lines of " small backstory of our next crappy little quest" than behind the scenes #-o i dont want to know what monsters are lurking where and what I can do this month to stop them--i wana know what happened to having clans in game and wilderness tag!!! :wall: I feel like whatever part of my 5$ goes toward developement is wasted on months like this, but I'm pretty sure im the minority :boohoo:
  17. Sort of on topic : Never tell someone you're too busy to hang out because, secretly, you're busy playing runescape. really, just never do it, it's foolish. As for school, I never had trouble really balancing school and runescape because not only do I not play much, but I realized early that the key of learning is 1% taking notes and 99% understanding the concepts of what the professor is talking about and how they relate to other concepts--and that taking notes is generally a waste of my attention. I know there are kids out there who automatically whip out their notebooks and write every word out of the professors mouth because all the other kids did it, but I never realized how much attention to detail I could retain if I just sat and listened. I'm not saying to go into a class and not take notes, but that you should find out what learning method works best for you by exploring things OTHER than sitting and scribbling notes. School will be a breeze if you have a sharp mind and it will free up a LOT of your time.
  18. looks like an anime villian and doesnt really fit with runescape but whatever. Only one I didnt like is the ice giant, doesnt seem to fit
  19. you don't know anything, seriously. And I'm not saying this to be mean or anything but you really don't know what you're talking about. The models have been extracted on hack sites. They're definitely rendered 3d models and not a series of bitmap images  (not that we didn't know this prior to playing runescape for 8 seconds) please, dont try to rebute my claim. The game would never run 1/90000th as fast as it does if the game were made as you say. Flash applets use the method you speak of (and no one draws it in a program like paint hahaha... most import any in game models using a 3d program and then fake the 3d) and look at how slow it is. google "tile based worlds" along with the name of a programming language (actionscript is my favorite for this one) it will shock and awe u :P
  20. I see. So, skrezz, there is still value in treasure trailing even if you are limited with the locations you can visit? Or was my first level 3 clue a fluke and I probably won't ever be able to complete many of my future trails? Or so few it isn't worth it Thank you for the replies, by the way.
  21. about 30-38k an hour on ankous with 83 strength 77 attack and dragon long ( :( ) reg str and attack potted im thinking 40k-45k with whip :) It probably isn't THE most optimal spot for me right now but it's also 80k-100k an hour in $ so it's an excellent spot for broke pures to level
  22. is it possible to be sent to an area you can't presently access, because of an uncompleted quest, when you are on a clue? I'm guessing they've made it so you cant get stuck trying to find a place you aren't able to access because think of the frustration you would have finding out you cant do the 5th step of a very comprehensive clue. But i could be wrong And yes, I'm aware that clues often send you to quest areas, but I'm asking if theyll send people who havent completed those quests to those areas as well or are they omitted i did a level 3 clue yesterday and actually had to start a quest to get access to mort. but i was wondering if theyd send me to like, the legends quest area that i cant get to?
  23. monsters need to stop showing a full red bar but be alive. They are rounding the amount of green on the bar down when they should round it up. When you redbar a monster and it still continues to attack you, it's perhaps the most annoying thing in the world because monsters get redbarred when they die AND when they live... this is particularly annoying in single combat when u go to attack the next monster and it says you are already under attack I know this is nitpicking but you would think they would do small fixes before adding the stupid, meaningless quest each week
  24. level 3 and 130 death/71 bloods in run 1 (400k from treasure trail) sick good spot  It's probably a better hourly rate in $ than tzhaar and tzhaar is so inconsitant oh my! :3>
  25. Copying other Adventure games, like WoW maybe? ~Aussy yesterday i was reading the story of warcraft (dont ask i was that bored) i found alot of things that rs may have took for warcraft :-k thats off topic though i think these new spells are a waste of runes they may have some purpose like healing but not in my opinion :? Runescape has been out literally years before WoW came out, and I don't think you can name a feature in WoW that isn't in another game I'm pretty sure even castlewars was out before WoW had their capture the flag type game. so maybe you're confused as to who is copying who ;) Not that it matters, because runescape is doing many things, much better than other companies are. On topic, this update seems SO lackluster. very few spells that seem to be worth it. The one that lets you share pray pots is very cool but jagex refuses to add clan support so everytime I see them add something that is useful to a GROUP of people I just sigh and think about how much better it would be if we could have a clan system with a clan chat and clan tags....
