  1. I can't believe how crazy your skills are. wow I remember being like omg dude ur on the top 1000 for prayer on the old highscores that only went to 1000 (i think ur pray was in the 50s haha) gj -kos_cowien :D
  2. how would this prove anything? that has nothing to do with your or his argument. It's not like you said he was going to be banned for making all these hypothetical statements on a private forum. And it's not like he claimed that was an ok thing to say that in game that wouldn't get him banned. your request is beyond ridiculous and contributes nothing. nothing
  3. You just admitted you would break two rs rules. Nice. In the time you wasted picking apart his post and singling him out you could've reported 10 autoers. There are approximately 5 million people you should have a bone to pick with before this guy who's only statement was hypothetical
  4. If jagex isn't completely confident in their cheat identification program then they should remove all safespots that you can get to with little or no risk. I'm not saying remove a daggonath safespot or dangerous safespots, but there are some spots just screaming "macro me" am i the only one who feels this way?
  5. you are wrong on both accounts there was a stat whipe, and when I made my current level 100 he was a miner. You must've started playing after they changed that playing since 2000, really? seems like it was released in 2001..
  6. You were online for both the santa and halloween drops You knew empror1 long before he even had 99 firemaking I didn't sift through this whole thread but..."you know what the underground farm was". Ha here's a huge one I just remembered You remember when paul gower would post on tip.it While it seems unbelievable...I'm sure some old timer can back me up on this. Back when lightning was a big gun around here Paul used to post quite a bit oh and heres another small one...tip.it had a section for dark age of camelot...haha ohhh here's a funny one too When you had to sleep in beds located all around runescape, there were jokesters saying that there were sleeping bags that you could carry in your inventory...So someone wrote a letter to jagex asking about it in the postbag and Jagex's response is basically "HAHA don't believe everything you hear!" and like a week later they release sleeping bags in runescape...it was awesome, they even had a corny 3d graphic portraying sleeping bags in runescape (poking fun at how ridiculous it would be) I found it
  7. then why do you choose to absorb the words of random pks in runescape? Just ignore them. You don't have an obligation to anyone to respond. Even though they don't kill you, you're still giving them a lot of satisfaction by recognizing their supposed power. (Yeah I'm cool, I just scared off a higher level and he acknowledged it...'pwned') Pretend you don't have chat on and keep walking, laugh at how far they follow you out of the wilderness.
  8. Of course people wouldn't exact follow the rules, but knowing you're in a world where the majority of people are similar in age would be good. I'm 16, I just want a more mature world to play in. you do realize, that by many standards, you are in a demographic that is considered immature by default :D This would be interesting. Often times I'll deal with 3-4 people in a row who I can conclusively say are between the ages of 9 and 12 and it's a little unsettling Also, in any given game, the general consensus is that the role playing servers will have slightly more mature people playing on them ( I haven't tried them out in RS yet though, I assume it holds true for the most part though)
  9. and one of the worst things about mining is you can't even train it without either banking your items or dropping them all one by one (unlike in rsc where you could just keep mining and your ores would fall underneath you if you had a full inventory) I guess it's to prevent autoing, but that really turns me off on this skill now that it's like this. mining hasn't gotten much easier since rune classic. (probably to make it so that mining isn't an amazing $ option--but still a stable one for those starting out) my point? mining is monotonous and boring, and thereby, hard.
  10. been playing since early rsc this is easily the best set of updates to the client and the mechanics of the game since runescape 2 came out "Clan Chat - rubbish - just so the children in their little elite clques can talk to each other frustrated " the "elite cliques" have been talking on IRC since before you started playing...seriously "Themed worlds - whats the point - it only produces uneven usage of the servers - we will soon have rants like - "I can't get onto world so-and-so Jagex MUST provide more worlds" (even when there are other non-themed worlds available) or "Stupid Jagex I can't get onto my Home world now"" these complaints seem very insignificant to the vitality jagex has put back in all of its mini games (especially those like castle wars, who would never muster the numbers they once did) "Sorry - must disagree with you (and obviously the majority of the forum). IMO the main updates so, far have been rubbish. " The people playing in the 100 vs 100 castle wars and 250 person fight caves battles seem to be enjoying the updates the popularity of the themed servers speaks for itself. "rubbish"? load up the client and take a look at any themed server.
  11. For having the majority of their staff in customer support they have a really really bad customer support. really?? Looks to me like they caught you breaking quite a few rules. good eye jagex They caught me? Nah. Jagex never catches anyone breaking rules cept macroers. You c, some1 reported me, Jagex didnt catch me, they just read a report. And if ur satisfied with Jagex's customer support, u r ezily satisfied if you feel this way, then why do you even want to return to this game run by these people? according to you the game is corrupt, everyone is out to get you etc etc...so why bother trying to get your account back?? isn't it only inevitable that jagex bans you wrongly again  you've already admitted to breaking the rules, now take your punishment like a man If you really feel that way then you're really foolish for playing this game. I would never play a game in which I thought this were true of their customer service
  12. For having the majority of their staff in customer support they have a really really bad customer support. really?? Looks to me like they caught you breaking quite a few rules. good eye jagex
  13. it was controlled by smithing for a long time. A LONG time There was a time when there were only 3-5 level 99 smithers and a rune 2 hander was the best weapon to use
  14. I'm not so hardcore into the game that I'm gonna get IRC, and go on message boards on sites other than jagex.com to find a clan and like post in the clan message board all the time and stuff like that. It's just been too cumbersome to join a clan without clan support in game I guess for a lot of you who have clans already this won't be a big update but now anyone in game can get into a clan or start a clan with relative ease which is going to be a huge change to game play (even for lower levels, IMO) if you ask me, this is the most necessary update in a long time. What mmorpg have you heard of without clan support?? Also, I'd just like to add I've always thought it was absolutely [developmentally delayed]ed for them to have clan forums without anything to even do with clans in game. Like you think it's a good enough idea to have forums for but not enough to develop for? stupid.... also, people who don't realize they're still chatting in rs are going to get banned...
  15. i know the perfect place to train melee at 100+cmb getting you 72k+ xp an hour with normal rune equipment, and using no food or pray. problem is ive talked about it so much on irc that people who know me know too much about it. it beats pc anyday. :D you failed to mention that you also need a mound of crack to stay awake while training on monsters This update would have taken months, thus making your argument completely invalid. Who's to say it would've taken months?? I don't think you can really invalidate my argument based on how much time you think it would theoretically take jagex to implement... And you're wrong anyway, there could've been an intermediate update that lessened pest control exp while they figured out any imbalances. Instead, it went from OMG FREE EXP...to wow this is horrible, good job handing out free 40/1/99 pures for >1 year and then saying oh wait nevermind. how about cut exp to 60%?? (or do you think this would this take 10 years to implement??) Cut exp based on the average level if it's too high?? (30 years at least) letting a big mechanic like this go for well over a year and then nerfing it is inexcusable in my opinion. And even if it would take "months" to do this as you say ( I don't buy that anyway) Last time i checked "months" is not equal to "more than a year". Your argument against my complaint is invalid anyway because they should've never released this in the first place if it was truly broken as they say it was--never mind that they let something broken exist for over a year...Why were have we been playing "pest control beta 1.2" for >1 year...bah inexcusable to the max to make a drastic modification like this is an admission that the product wasn't finished. 'yeah sorry guys, that update wasn't working as we intended it to for abouuuuut 15 months, but after testing we're ready to release the real pest control...' to which a level 86 with 99 strength replies 'yeah I was actually more into the pest control beta, but thanks for that, and thanks for the uber char' also, can you give more than a smug one line response next time?? I completely appreciate it
  16. How can anyone be sure that jagex didn't find another way to nab tree cutting autoers, eliminating the need for a tree cutting random??
  17. this is a BAD update. If they wanted to make this update, they needed to make it less than a month after pest control got released. jagex dropped the ball on this one badly. Not because of the mechanics of the update, but because now anyone who wanted a quick 99 stregnth got it LONG ago and now I get to be at a disadvantage when training? forget that, I'm not resubscribing so i can work at 60% efficiency that all those before me finishing pc games in 30 seconds it was pretty comforting to know there were 5-6 PC chat rooms that I knew of that would help me level any combat stat i wanted at level 100. I had two still bookmarked Oh and jagex...relying on low levels to balance the game is bad? SO IS PLACING TIMERS ON WHEN YOU CAN ATTACK THINGS -.- The fact of the matter is, pest control was the way it was for over a year. if you wanted 99 strength and you could stand pest control, it was all yours. Everybody got THEIRS...now I have to work that much harder to get MINE?? just to be equal to all those who have been "abusing" pc all this time? no thank you. Don't fix the problem after unleashing thousands of new players with 99 strength, i'm not interested in your untimely solution to a problem you should've seen in pest control's second week of development someone once said something about not fixing what isn't broken..Don't fix what isn't broken and certainly don't leave something broken for a year and then some--and then tell me it's broken i know the perfect place to train melee at 100+cmb getting you 72k+ xp an hour with normal rune equipment, and using no food or pray. problem is ive talked about it so much on irc that people who know me know too much about it. it beats pc anyday. :D you failed to mention that you also need a mound of crack to stay awake while training on monsters
  18. Oh, Really?? I thought friends expressed sympathy relative to the amount of worth your friend would assess his own loss. If your friend treasures items in game, and you're my friend, you better be sympathetic if my account gets cleared and all my items get taken. Otherwise, I don't want you as a friend. Anyway, I could already see a major hole in your argument when you said you wouldn't give sympathy to people who suffer an ingame loss, but you would sympathize with a friend who lost something in the material world. You've basically already admitted you know your argument is wrong because of the special privilege given in your argument (I'd feel differently if it were "a friend", but a common person--I dont really care about any loss they have) You can't be very sympathetic if a person experiences an in game loss?? What if the person is your sister, or your friend, and it meant a lot to them? you would just say "eh" at their years of lost work? Yes, really. I think anyone, not just friends, deserve that sympathy for losses out-game. My dissent was not about "special privileges" given to people. Your post twists the whole argument by manipulating my real meaning with just one word. I have already answered why I would just say "eh" at "their years of lost 'work'" if it is "work" at all. The answer is elaborated in the whole of my dissent, and I advise you to read it, because I think it has been made clear. I think that it could be universally applied. I have never said that I hold friends and family in higher preference. Again, you are manipulating the general meaning of my post in a negative way. That is not the spirit of a positive argument; in fact, it encourages misunderstanding and premature assumptions. This paragraph is somewhat not so clear, but I get the gist (friend/close friend?). It would be great if you could clarify that. My second post up there should help enlighten any misunderstandings... I hope opposing viewpoints are welcome here̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ but my hope is disheartened after this altercation, Irool. 1st. You write so pretentiously that it just makes every sentence you write VERY awkward. (even though you probably think you have the most amazing vocabulary in the world, you use the word dissent around forty times--a word I expect to use once a year in a year when I overuse it) C+ for writing skills. 2nd. You didn't respond to ANYTHING i said. You only claim that I twisted what you wrote the whole time. 3rd. If ingame accomplishments can't be classified as work--Then I would like it very much if you would PM me your username and password asap. Put up or shut up please :) 4th. Altercation? Not once did I get personal prior to this post, I don't see how a response to your points classifies as an "altercation". Then again, you probably just don't know what the word means 5th. You seem fairly misguided in life. I doubt you have any real friends IF you wouldn't feel sympathetic toward them suffering a big loss in a game that is important to them. (but how could I know that? you didn't even respond to any of my points or examples) I know you already explained why you would say "eh" at years of lost work, I'm asking if you would do that to the face of your best friend or your sister?? How would you expect those people to react to the loss of YOUR years of time put into runescape? (assuming they thought it meant a lot to you--As most RS player's accounts mean to them, as you can see from all the responses) your thesaurus is probably almost worn out, respond if possible. Thanks for the runescape account in advance :)
  19. Not everyone trains combat either  Why shouldn't it take both skills and melee to access a dragon large? Rather than exclude players, I think jagex should include as many as possible in the new update if it's for high level combat. I mean, considering that skills only open up the area, and you're still going to need good combat anyway. What would be the harm in having low skill requirements to let as many experience it as possible ( I say this fully knowing that later this month I'll be excluded despite being over 100 combat :) but I don't mind ) so really i have no good reason why it should lowskills/no skills :P. it's just mad dreams
  20. Oh, Really?? I thought friends expressed sympathy relative to the amount of worth your friend would assess his own loss. If your friend treasures items in game, and you're my friend, you better be sympathetic if my account gets cleared and all my items get taken. Otherwise, I don't want you as a friend. What if the person is your sister, or your friend, and it meant a lot to them? you would just say "eh" at their years of lost work? FYI, talking about special privileges given to friends or family in an argument about ethics is basically an invitation to be told you're wrong. If what you're saying can't be applied universally, then you aren't making a legitimate argument in the LEAST bit. I'm not saying that every time you see a random person you should cry over their loss. I'm just saying that you should understand the impact of a loss on a random person, just as well as you should understand the impact of in game loss if it happened to a good friend. (as opposed to only feeling bad about something when it happens to a close friend)
  21. I'm really getting sick of jagex's monthly developement plan If they want to implement a big change to the game, it's SO untimely for them to do so because they're expected to put tiny expansions to the game out monthly and keep developing new skills on the side. this is why we aren't seeing anything like a new chat system or clans getting implemented and why we had to wait so long on housing. Just to illustrate my point with an extreme example : Just imagine if they did daily updates, it would feel like everything is so insignificant. I can't help but feel that way when jagex is too stubborn to skip a month and drop a big update on us like you see in other games I have a feeling I'm the minority, but I just had to state how I feel.
  22. I don't respect those with 99 construction at all. those are just the people with unbelievable amounts of money who are just hording 99 skills and probably don't even like it. They likely just raised it to 99 and moved on just to have a high total (generally speaking) Of course there are probably SOME wealthy people who actually enjoy construction and have 99...but I'm be pretty skeptical of why most of those with 99 construction have it. you're lying to yourself if you think those who horde 99s are legitimately interested in all of them ;) Most of those people defined their goal with an end result, achieving 99...but that isn't the point at all.... i'm not hating on them, but why would i respect them for getting 99 in a skill most of them don't even care about :?: Those with 89 construction are probably infinitely more interested in the skill than those with 99 and simply lack the means to take the skill further...backwards, isnt it? -.-
  23. First off, 3000$ lost from 600 members quitting would not even show up as a blip on their radar because of how quickly new players are coming in the game. Secondly, it's no wonder your article wasn't chosen for anything special. You have no statistical data to backup your claims. All you have is here-say. Infact, I posses statistical data that says the exact opposite of what you're trying to say. Infact, the graph of the # of members is consistant with exponential growth ;) just an fyi, according to a reputable news source... andrew gower is worth 32 million pounds or around 64 milion dollars source : http://business.timesonline.co.uk/artic ... 14,00.html Ive seen other articles estimating similar figures, but this is the only one I could find.
  24. I'm fairly confident I'm the only one posting here who saw you get 99 firemaking in RSC at your party in draynor 8-) U owe me like 40 addy plates I dropped and the santa i gave away for your party LOL \ GL m8 ~Kos_cowien ;) honestly, I'm pretty sure your timeline is off...I remember speaking to you on my original character who was made before year 2000 IIRC
  25. holy crap this post was falling toward the bottom and normally I wouldn't bump something this far down BUT you've gained 4 million exp on FREE TO PLAY from jan 2 to jan 20th (starting with 85 str) !!!!!!!!! good god. Well done sir  =D> =D> In the days of runescape classic, you would IMMEDIATELY be called a macroer for this post. no question youd be accused of macroing
