  1. Been a 7 year-long journey of on and off play, but finally got my first 99 tonight Hopefully I'll be trimming it with summoning (haven't crunched the numbers on whether it's possible, but I'm hopeful).
  2. It's faster to glory to edge and then using the fairy ring west of the GE (for banking)
  3. If your crew application rejection took any longer than 10 seconds, I would probably attribute it to them being unable to find the "hell no" key due to shaking from laughter. Your ego at creating a thread about this is incredible.
  4. Why people don't cannon their spectre tasks is beyond me.
  5. While godwarring, nothing. I closed all other apps and tabs in Firefox to make sure I had zero lag. I'm not on the computer having problems at the moment, but my speedtest usually run about 300kbps down and 75kbps up (line is a 1.5-3.0MB DSL line). Java[Caution: Executable File] starts out occupying 66mb of memory and then increases to 179mb (I don't know if it's increasing gradually or [bleep]ing) and my computer just chokes. Sometimes I can ride it out and my cpu usage drops back to normal levels (from 100%) and sometimes it just stays at 100%.
  6. Whoops, yes. Java[Caution: Executable File] goes from using 66-179mb of memory/virtual memory. It's a 1.6ghz centrino with a Mobility Radeon 9000. The thing is, I'm playing Runescape on the absolute minimum possible graphics (standard definition with all the graphics options turned off). It runs perfectly until java goes absolutely insane and my computer just chokes up.
  7. After dying for the second time at Godwars thanks to system lag.... Occasionally java[Caution: Executable File] will go nuts and go from using about 66K of mem usage to 179k (same difference in Virtual Memory size also). This causes insane lag and has gotten me killed twice. I'm running the latest version of Java on Windows XP SP2, old 1.6ghz laptop with 2gigs of RAM. Any suggestions or answers or explanations?
  8. Weapons: GS (preferably of the saradomin flavor) > Z spear > Sara Sword > Whip (gargoyles being weak to crush)
  9. It was definitely why you weren't building any potential
  10. The ONLY reason to ever buy a saradomin sword is to train strength as a focus (since the whip can only train strength through controlled).
  11. *Translator online* Mine-x!!! I can't stand the thought of automation being added to a skill i clicked a few million times in, because I am so competitive and jealous (that I can't STAND the idea of someone else getting to my level by doing less work!!! I'M GONNA JUST GO AHEAD AND COMPLETELY IGNORE HOW MUCH EASIER MINING HAS BEEN FOR ME THAN FOR PEOPLE WHO PLAYED RSC, BECAUSE THAT WOULD JUST MAKE MY ARGUMENT LOOK STUPID!!! I HATE YOU JAGEX!!!! *Translator offline*
  12. Apparently by your standards the following skills have been ruined: Fletching- fletch X, previously manual Herblore- Make X, previously manual Fishing- Back in RSC, I had to click to catch each and every lousy fish Smithing- See Fishing Cooking- See Fishing Woodcutting- Hell, back in RSC before members, there weren't even any different trees. Just 1 log per normal tree. Crafting- See Fishing I will now start crying and ranting that all the skills previously mentioned have been ruined because of the addition of an automatic feature, followed by some meaningless nostalgic rambling and a few grumbles about how much more of an achievement a 99 was back in the RSC days and how every 99 in RS2 is meaningless.
  13. Not really. It's still impossible to switch before the tormented demon hits you once after the demon changes attack, and it's still not that difficult to get the prayer in before the second hit. This only slightly helps people who were too slow to swap prayers before the second hit, and they weren't the ones that could last for 20-50 kills per trip anyways.

No. You do NOT need the full set for the 2x. Each set will give you 2x exp (combat) and will last different amounts of time (hats don't last as long as bodies). So, the exp rate is 2x....but they'll all degrade after a certain amount of exp gained.
  15. yaks- void aviansies- depends on whether or not you can tank them with void. If you can survive easily, then void will get you faster exp dragons- armadyl is better on steels, blacks, kbd, and mithril. Void otherwise.
  16. The noncombat SC is an agreement, not an actual game you can play. The players agree to not pickpocket or fight each other and work as fast as possible to collect all the clay on the map. Depending on team size and skill, games can end as fast as 7 minutes into the game. People that do try and join the noncombat clan chats to pk usually get barraged into nonexistence, or the group will just hop into the clan side and lock the pkers out.
  17. Everyone who is saying that it increases your chances of a rare drop are DEAD WRONG. As explained by Jagex, the ring of wealth increases the quality of your drop if you're lucky enough to get a spin on the rare wheel. Imagine a roulette wheel- every single slot is filled by a drop. If your ball drops into the green slot, however, you get tossed onto a second wheel (the rare wheel). It's on the rare wheel that the ring of wealth has an effect- no one knows exactly what the mechanism is, but the wealth probably increases the number of slots for the monster's top drop (a visage in the case of iron dragons) or eliminates a slot or two of the "bad" rare drops (teeth and loop halves). Yes, it's worth it to wear one, but it does NOT increase your CHANCES of getting a rare drop.
  18. His example isn't a table of dropped item value (your opponent losing 10m guarantees you a drop of at least 10m). It probably is that if your opponent loses 10m-25m then you probably get a drop from the "high" table, which inclues a variety of gear. This would make it incredibly risky to RWT by losing BGS's, as the killer might end up with a dragon spear.
  19. The reason you're wrong and dumb is that most windstrikers did it while afk (doing homework, doing something else, sleeping). Can you make that 5-150m while sleeping? Thought not.
  20. If you can use a smoke devil, CT dagannoths all the way. Zero question about it. Quick approximate math: 192 dagannoth Spent: 3 prayer potions (24k) 1k smoke devil scrolls (177k) Total: 200k Gained: 100k in stuff (hides, gear) 48k in alchs 44 crimson A few greens A few blues Total: 148k Result: Task completed in 25 minutes Approximately 50k loss
  21. Anything that drops herb seeds can drop spirit weed seeds, and I'm fairly certain that nothing drops spirit weeds. But if you were ever thinking of actually doing anything like planting spirit weeds or whatever, the words "don't bother" spring to mind
  22. He's level 3, the skeletons would murder him, or any rev showing up would 1hit him.
  23. They promised some sort of addition to the kingdom, which turned out to be the relleka diary boots.
  24. Your analogy is miserable and completely irrelevant to the discussion. The damage has already been done, whereas a recall is designed to prevent further damage. I won't lie, I both cringed and laughed when you decided to bring racism into the discussion- as if a few people losing a few pixels was anything comparable.
  25. 1) If you fail a hard one, you won't get the experience. Repeat until you do- better to spend one of your 10 tries doing the hard ones than succeeding the level 10 for the measly amount of exp you get, which is why you should start from hardest. 2) Emotes do NOT affect experience 3) Costumes do NOT affect experience
