no thanks i prefer IE, means no arsing around with flash player downloads everytime and everything else...Huh? Yes I think you have to download/install flash again when you install Firefox for the first time, but you had to do that with IE too remember? How is that a big deal? You can update to newer versions of Firefox without having to reinstall flash, and when you download any new versions of flash, it applies to both browsers (I think.) And what might you mean by "everything else" ? I'm not trying to attack you or anything, but if people can tell us why they're not even willing to try Firefox it helps us to market it to those people (eg. you.)

Either my first post or a very early post was about ranged and how arrows worked... also I think I made another one about fishing. Both on the Help board, both of them Ks_Jeppe answered :)

Yeah goldeneye and perfect dark just did so much for console first person shooters, I've spent many hours playing both of them. Only problem is the controllers - you always end up feeling cramped over to the right hand side of it because the left hand "prong" is basically useless on the standard controller setup.

weezcake: Australian dude caught trafficking heroin in Singapore. News story. Timeline. Imho this is an excellent way to reduce drug trafficking, presence and use in Singapore. The fact that the case has recieved so much media attention just means that more and more people will think twice about drugs in Singapore. It is difficult do accept the loss of this man's life, but if it is any consellation, the media presenece probably prevented many others from trafficking drugs into singapore, which in turn prevents many drug related injuries and deaths in singapore.

I don't think the death penalty is a good idea for Australia, but anyone who's stupid enough to smuggle drugs in a country with the death penalty deserves it. He knew/should've known the consequences of his actions and now he's getting it.

Are you talking about the Tip.it chat? (the link at the top of the page?) If so, then that's the JAVA PJIRC client and it's safe, I'll vouch for it :)

Why the different browsers for the different platforms?
-
Click in text box, insert menu -> object -> microsoft equation 3.0 or something.
-
Hmm we may be able to deal with that... give me an example of a site where this happens. And secondly, are you using the Mozilla Suite, or are you using Mozilla Firefox?
-
andy, all the talk is that they've actually released it now, rather than just having release candidates :P As for mozilla.com vs .org I don't much like the idea. It's too confusing for end users and they're still using addons.mozilla.org which is an end user website. There are too many areas where user and developer content overlaps.

Tools -> Internet Options -> General Tab -> Accessibility. UNCHECK all the options in there. What's wrong with Mozilla?
-
Use tabbed browsing and Firefox will use far less RAM than IE. I think there is/was a bug (might be fixed in 1.5) where if you left the browser going forever and never closed it, it chewed up memory over a long period of time (like, days on end.) However, this can be easily solved by just closing Firefox once in a while :)

Do you get username/password requests in Internet explorer too? I'm guessing that burstnet has screwed up their server settings and might be serving your location with incorrect data :-?
-
Perhaps you got banned from using sigs? Pm an admin? (Err, when you get un-temb-banned :-?)
-
What browser are you using? If Firefox, ensure that Tools -> Options -> Content "Load Images" is checked and "From the originating website only" is not checked.

Shoo off :!: Nah, Rick raises a good point, both Firefox and Opera are far superior to IE, but they're different and each have their own pros and cons. Personally, I prefer Firefox (as you might've gathered :P)

Firstly, yes it is safe to download Firefox, 100 million downloads can't be wrong. Firefox has been in the news, and all over the web. Read the download.com review if you still don't trust it ;) More to the point, is it safe to use Firefox? It's time for me to tell you that it is Intenet Explorer which is not safe to use :!: ActiveX and OS inegration make IE an easy target for virusses and spyware. Firefox, however, does not allow AcitiveX to run :) Firefox also has an excellent history of patching security exploits in the browser, wheras Microsoft has often left known security holes in their browser for months on end. Most likely, however, you don't want to hear technical waffle and statistics, you just want the web to work, and as Firefox is streamlined and user friendly, it'll do just that. It's a tiny download (5 MB,) installation takes seconds and it automtically imports your favorites and settings from IE *thumbs up* Once you're off and browsing, be amazed by the simplicity of the default theme, (or download other themes to make it look however you like) and marvel at the beauty of tabed browsing - keep your taskbar tidy and save your PC's RAM for other more improtant things. Are you perhaps sick and tired of popup windows getting through IE's popup blocker? Firefox's is far more advanced. Want a special feature that you think might be useful? Install extensions. Check your gmail/yahoo mail automatically, show the weather in your status bar or automatically download all the links on a page - with extensions it's all possible, but only if you want it. I could go on for a while here ;) Just download it and try it, if you don't like it you can just uninstall and continue using IE as per normal. If you have any questions, please feel free to post back here :D

Would encourage too much spam. And no the admins don't allow username changes.

60 wpm with 100% accuracy... i'm a bit of a perfectionist :P

I've been folding for some time now :) I'm in team Mozillazine. I've done 73 work units and my score is 8442. I don't notice any adverse affects from having the app running.

Again I'll ask, how far ahead/behind does it get? Does it change steadily or in bursts?

Stop posting scam warnings in the announcements section
Vape replied to Hannibal's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
I agree with Hannibal. It "cheapens" the new posts icon for the anouncements board. Users should know that when there's new posts in there, it's important that they read them. I don't believe a collection of them is very useful, but if you must collect them, perhaps on RS General? -
How far does it get ahead? Suggest you go to clock -> Internet time -> and Automaticaly synchronise with time.windows.com. That way it'll synch once a week... The only way I can think of that this could happen is if you've overclocked your pc but windows doesn't know about it so it assumes you're running at the old speed and this affects the calculation of time? :-?

Please post the first part of your log aswell, that's important.

The Wold Wide Web Consortium develops specifications, guidelines, software, and tools to lead the web to its full potential. They're the people who wrote the html specifications and who write guidelines for other web coding standards and also the people who run the markup validation service for checking the code on your page. Without them, there would be chaos (well, there's chaos anyway because MS don't really cooperate with them, but we've got hopes for IE7...):shock:Hmm okay let me see if I can put that a little more simply... Mathematicians have agreed universally on the BEDMAS principle (Brackets, exponents, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction) as the order in which processes are completed. I'm not sure at which point this was agreed upon and by whom, but before it one can imagine that some mathematicians may have been doing things differently, or using different symbols or whatever, and thus when people read mathematical papers and theories by different authors, it may have been confusing. The code used on the world wide web also needs to be standardised so that people know that when they write some code that all web browsers will display it in the same way, and also so that people who write web browsers know that the browser will correctly display all existing web pages.
