Vape replied to eurofighter's topic in Tech and Computers
Stickies ftw. -
That's the great thing about wikipedia - people can write articles about anything and everything :)
-
You've been #darkwebzed.
-
btw png or gif images would be far more suitable for those images - jpg is better for photos ;)
-
where at? say i have this... thats the link first, followed by the picture. where in there do i put the at? make sure you close that a tag, and if you're using xhtml, the img tag should end in ="0" />

See the sticky on the help board my friend.

My bad  In zonealarm I think there's some options under adblocking about images which aren't from the originating website, and I know that there's also some regarding animated gif images. In IE, you might try tools -> options -> advanced tab -> multimedia and make sure "show pictures" is checked. With regards to Firefox, what happens if you create a new Firefox profile? Close all firefox windows, then go start -> run and type "firefox[Caution: ExecutableFile] -p" (no quotes) click "new" or something (can't quite remember) and then go from there. Don't import settings from IE. Do you see no images at all or just some images? Do you have an ad blocker?

Hmm.. I never get any popups here... you using 1.5 I hope?
-
Firefox should block all popups automatically. Could you please link to a site where you're experiencing popups? If you seem to get them at random, it may be that you have some spyware/adware installed on your pc. Please download Ad-Aware SE (google for it) and run a full scan. Then download hijackthis (google again) click run a scan and save a logfile and then copy and paste the log to here. To block flash ads, a useful extension is Flashblock - it replaces all flash content with a clickable button which you can click if it's something you want to see. It also allows you to whitelist sites which you don't want to block flash on (if for example, you enjoy watching flash movies or something.) If you must block all ads, go no further than the Adblock extension. However you should note that many websites are supported by revenue from ads (including tip.it!) You should consider this carefully before you block all the ads on the site. Perhaps just blocking intrusive ads like popups and flash ads is enough? If everyone blocked all the ads on that site, then the webmaster might be forced to close it. Oh and by the way, the usercontent.css file needs to go in your profile folder. If you're using Windows XP, that's at C:\Documents and Settings\%yourusername\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\8charndm.%profilename\Chrome (note that 8charndm is an eight character random string.) If you're using another operating system, here's instructiosn for finding your profile folder.

I agree with Mementh, only old batteries had the dexribed memory effect. A possible reason that the battery is not lasting the 14 hours that apple claims is that the 14 hours is when you just set it to play all songs and then don't touch it. Every time you change the volume, skip tracks, navigate the menus etc. it uses mroe power. Also the backlight uses a fair bit. Oh and also the little battery image isn't perfectly accurate of course. One thing that really flattens your battery is the music quiz, as the harddrive has to be constantly moving and reading different sections.

Okay, Thank you very much. :) Edit// How/where do i get Windows XP SP2? Right click on "My computer", select "properties", and it'll tell you what version of windows you're using - that would be a useful piece of information for us. You can get the latest windows updates from http://www.windowsupdate.com

I believe google video relies on flash.. what happens if you go here?
-
Dude your post was already at the top.. or like second from the top  Is your firewall zonealarm? In Firefox, go Tools -> Options -> Content. Make sure "load images" is checked and "from the originating website only" is not checked.

I was just wondering.. what makes this mile run topic any more "official" than any other mile run topic?

Got the latest version of Quicktime? Try investigating your quicktime settings? make sure your Firewall is allowign quicktime access to the internet?

Do you mean you can see the little image thumbnails but when you click them nothing happens, or do you mean that you can't actually see the image thumbnails at all? Does the issue occur anywhere else? When you say Mozilla do yuo mean the Mozilla Suite or do you mean Mozilla Firefox? Do you have the most up to date version of Internet Explorer (go to http://www.windowsupdate.com to find out) and the most up to date version of the Mozilla Suite (1.7.12) or the most up to date version of Firefox (1.5)?

Jagex have coded their sounds so they only work in IE :( http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=352242 Although you could try playing in the new netscape, which is based on Firefox and IE... I don't think it'd work but it might be worth a try.
-
Does your bible have the book of Mozilla in it? If so, chapter 7, verse 15 ;) ^ True that.
-
Firefox <3 :) I am, however, forced to use the official Runescape client (based on IE) to play Runescape (which I do very rarely,) because I quite like to hear the sound effects and Jagex has only coded Runescape to work in IE :(

I believe there are some concerns with privacy. I don't know the law in the USA but I'd suggest that the first thing you should to is talk to the employee in question about your concerns. If she continues to be secretive, you should get some legal advice as to what you can do about it. At the least, I'm guessing you'd have to notify her that you intend on installing some tracking software on the PC.

make yourself an ico file (I believe they involve similar encoding to png files, but you can make them easily using irfanview) and put it in the root directory of your website. Call it favicon.ico. Then, in the head area of your code, add this code ... ...

why doesent tip it have an item guide yet?!?!
Vape replied to demonworshiper666's topic in Off-Topic
Could you plz (sic) post on the correct board, and before posting, actually read the sticky regarding the item database (which is under development.) The reason it isn't released yet is because tip.it gets all their info correct and polished before they release things ;)
