  1. yeah, members has enough scope for everyone to get something out of it. Fair enough if you are not bothered about quests/p2p skills. There are some awesome minigames to do like barrows/CW/BA that you could do just to have some fun (although you will have to do Priest in Peril to get access to Morytania). You might want to have some fun killing dragons/hellhounds etc and doing a few clues. You could use them to make some nice money. Maybe try staking in the duel arena, or explore new areas that you couldnt get to before.
  2. i completed them all a while back (just doing the most recent ones before a quest guide comes out). I'd say that it took me about a year and a half (maybe 2 years), but then I was never in any hurry to do them - i was more interested in levelling.

    Cannon

popular spots are at hellhounds (for good slayerxp/clue drops) or dagannoths (slayer). I tend to not use my cannon that much unless i am on assignment, and even then I only use it on crocs, kalphites and dagannoths. A very annoying location for cannons tend to be on karamja by the lessers. They have good all round drops (but no clues though). I also saw a guide for killing the chaos elemental with a cannon - you might get some super sweet drops from it if you dare take a cannon into level 50 wildy.....
  4. I rebuilt my house from scratch as I realised that my current layout was pretty rubbish. TBH, it depends what you want to use your house for. I wanted my house to be well suited to barrows so my altar is right next to my quest hall (with glory tele) and portal room (with canafis portal). Non-essential rooms like bedrooms and study went upstairs, and the kitchen/parlour/dining room areas are quite a way away from the entrance. My advice to you is to figure out what rooms you want, figure out the orientation of each room (i.e. the configuration of the doors) and sketch a design on a piece of paper that suits your needs.
  5. i hope that if there is new armour, then there are penalties attached, like cursed armour or soemthing. It might drop your base magic level by 5 when worn, or drop your hp by 2hp per minute or prohibit prayer or something. Otherwise, as a poster already said, you are just going to have ridiculous defence bonuses.
  6. have you thought of greater demons in the ogre enclave? you cant get your arrows back but the drops are not terrible either as long as you bring telegrab runes... You could also try elves or hellhounds (if you want clue drops). TBH, I do most of my combat training on slayer assignments and just pick and choose the tasks the i want to melee/range. There are also a few safe spots for bloodvelds, but the drops are not great.
  7. Hopefully, I'll be more useful than the previous poster. My strategy has been to head over to world 78 and trade the recruiters there for a decent world. I tend to join the 90+ or preferably the 100+ recruiters. You might have to world hop a few times to find a decent server though. If you want to do PC for the long haul, you might consider joining Affliction, they have a web site somewhere but I dont know where.
  8. im 103 combat now and have never been tempted to go to duradel. The reason is that chaedler gives some pretty decent assignments that duradel does not give such as trolls and dagannoths (both excellent slayer xp). I find that the assignments are large enough from chaedler anyway, I get bored easily and want to move on to other things after an hour of training on one thing. You can get to duradel by teleing to ardougne, hopping over to brimhaven and use the cart guy (Hajedy) to get to Shilo village. No magics needed (except ardougne tele). P.S. pm me (curanir1) if you ever want to make house tele tablets at my place. you just need to bring the clay and the runes.
  9. There is almost no such thing as a completely original idea. Whenever fantasy is involved, you are likley to have orcs/elves/skeletons/magic/wizards etc involved somewhere. To suggest that Tolkein was the first to think up these ideas is pretty laughable. He got a lot of inspiration from Norse/Celtic mythology, and a lot of the names that feature in his books come directly from those stories.
  10. just to highlight what someone else said, using 3 prayer pots + 10 sharks a trip is completely unnecessary. I use 2-3 doses per trip, up to 4 if I am really unlucky. 12 doses and 10 monkfish normally last me for 3 runs until i house tele and recharge. Slayer dart is definitely a good tactic for barrows. I used it at level 70, but the other people might be right that chaos gaunts are better at your level.
  11. well i think that defender is the hardest (except on level 10 where the path of the runners is really close to the trap) as it requires a lot of skill to get right. It is hard to get points early on as a defender cos there are few to kill and if a couple get through, then you can often be on zero points. This is why people dont like it. Personally, I love being defender as it requires a lot of skill to get it right. With something like healer you get points for healing people and you can let the cannon take out the penance healers so you are always going to get a decent score. Healer is pretty easy, and only gets easier when you level up. ~level 2 defender + 500 points still to spend...
  12. the only option is to range them, but it will take some time as your stats are pretty low. You wont hit often or high. You may suffer abuse from other players for 'taking' their spots being a relatively low level. To be honest, i'd burthorpe the task. This is very slow xp, especially as blue drags are almost always crowded training spots.
  13. Great post. I have put similar hours of game time into it but only as a defender or healer. I found that being a healer was pretty easy until the queen level, but being a defender was rock hard. Most of my games i scored 0 on, particularly in the early rounds as most healers never used their horns so i was generally left to guess work and lots of runners getting through. all the stuff about lag is so true too - especially as the roles change so regularly. The healer is normally too busy to shout out instructions. One of my tactics was to drop a random food on the trap on my way up to the top and destroy the other 2 foods so that i had space for 2 logs+hammer. That way, I could repair the traps quickly. Do you think that the best combination is to have 2 healers? This means that people get regularly healed and the defender has a chance to score points.
  14. highest construction about 2700, lowest strength ~109000 rank (and dropping :( )
  15. I never bank in Burgh de Rott unless I forget my spade. House tele tablets are best as you can recharge prayer at the same time, followed by a canafis teleport. I just take my chances with the Ghasts, losing 1 monkfish is not that big a deal.
  16. *sigh* Getting the 50k ish xp to get to 47 thieving is not particularly tricky. You might find it a bit more challenging to get to 99. Why dont you set yourself a reasonable goal first, then see how much you like the skill? To answer your question, guards, then knights (with gloves of silence if possible) are a good way to get plenty of xp. However, pyramid plunder is pretty ace xp, and from level 51, you might want to break up some of your training with a few trips there. The higher your level, the more that you should spend in PP as the xp is great.
  17. have you tried the shield shops/champs guild? All the armour shops have some addy equipment in - dont know if it will have the square though. Edit- in the bestiary, use "Adamant Sq" as your search string and there are a few monsters that drop.
  18. 67 runecrafting. (i gonna ignore hunter as my lowest skill as it has only just come out and I havent have a chance to level it properly)
  19. As someone already said, I am choosing for the enjoyment/story factor involved in quests rather than the reward at the end. Best: 1. RFD 2. Swan Song 3. Lunar Diplomacy Close contenders were the myreque series, elemental workshop and eyes of glouphie. Worst: 1. Slug Menace 2. Soul's Bane 3. Rag and Bone Man
  20. Apart from the extra bedrooms and workshop, this isnt a bad set up. A few comments though: 1) Remember that you only have space for 20 rooms. If you want a dungeon/throne room/oubliette etc then you are going to need to make space. 2) possible rooms to scrap are: parlour (definitely), games room, combat room. How many times are you going to using these rooms? I am sorely tempted to get rid of my combat room as it is never used. My games room is more popular. 3) The location of your rooms is pretty good. You want to make sure that your garden is near your portal chambers and glory amulet so you dont have to walk far to teleport anywhere.
  21. The problem is that your melee armour has negative magic defense so you will actually be hit less if you are not wearng any armour at all. The best way to take on wizards is to wear wizards clothes (which offer magic defense) and melee (or even better range) them. Haveing a decent magic level will help your magic defense too.
  22. I tnd to set myself lots of short term realistic goals. I'd get too bored if I suddenly decided to go for a 99 in any skill (although I think that I would probably go for thieving if I did). My current goal is 70 in all skills, which I was only about 5 total levels short until hunting came out :( .
  23. Well you could always ask why people play at all? Personally I play for fun. Making vast amounts of money does not appeal to me, I'll never be able to afford a rare, and I just spend all my money on skills like herblore and construction. Another point is that Slayer is one of the ultimate unbuyable skills like agility. It takes a long time to get xp, you cant get people to help you (like rc) and the xp is very slow. Therefore, a high slayer level is like a status symbol, it shows the time that you have put into the game, and shows that you are capable of killing tough high level monsters. I still train slayer in the knowledge that if/when I get to 85, whips will be super cheap and there will be better weapons out, but it doesnt diminish my fun of levelling the skill.
  24. I rarely use the KB. I tend to only use it if there is something new out that I want to figure out before Tipit does it. Having said that, I was amazed (and pretty impressed) how quickly the interim guide to hunting came out. Also I find that the KB (and RS generally) often loads pretty slowly, so I tend to use the TIF a lot more.
  25. I would NOT recommend silk stalls. They respawn twice as slow as cake stalls but do not give twice as much xp. I did cake stalls until about 50, then moved on to guards and knights. Pyramid plunder at high levels definitely - its a lot more fun than pickpocketing/stall stealing. Personally, I found master farmers a bit of a nightmare. I still get caught way too often even when I am about 20 levels above what is required to steal from them.
