  1. I can't say I really agree with that. Two forums, yes, but weaker? I think it's pretty clear from the attitudes of all the various parties that Tip.It was very fragmented. Separation, at the very least, means there's less hurt to go around.
  2. Funny story about that. I put many hard hours into putting together a guide for Nex, actually, and have asked several of my team mates to contribute their time and effort to helping me make it as comprehensive and informative as possible. It was meant to help us instruct new team mates, but we always figured that eventually, when the guide has reached a certain level of quality, we'd share it with this community. But it's becoming quite clear that very few people within this community can appreciate our efforts. So why bother? Several players are now separating themselves from Tip.It. These are all people who can and have contributed much to the knowledge pool of this community. And the dominant message from staff and community members alike is "don't let the door hit you on your way out." If this is the kind of appreciation people get for trying to help others, then you can count me out.
  3. The same problem as having terms and conditions that require you to sign over your immortal soul to the corporation. Just because you can get people to sign it without noticing it doesn't mean it's moral or just. Sonikku, I appreciate your sentiments, but the fact is, Tip.It administration has as much respect for knowledge and intellect as they claim people like Bladewing, Grimy_Bunyip, and so on have for them.

  5. Of course it's okay. Guidewriters aren't people, remember? They're all efficiency trolls, and everyone knows that intellectual property rights only apply to humans.
  6. So you'll go ahead and allow these pointless posts and threads but you'll ban users based on newly established rules that shouldn't be retroactive? Can you do me a favor and sort your s*** please? Das has heard the cries of inconsistency. Das is working on ironing those out. Thank you for saying we rock, it means alot, I think it's beyond stupid to lock a thread like this. Precedent has shown in the past we have allowed them.... At the very least, doesn't this belong in forum feedback? There is very little discussion to be had here, none of which pertains to Runescape...
  7. Great example there. Totally the same as the topic in question. 1) Pick a goal. 2) Attach senseless, irrational, and asinine requirements to the goal, that do nothing but impede progress. 3) ??? (Otherwise known as ask help & advice). 4) Don't profit, because you followed the worse advice possibly offered in the thread. Oh, and in response to the people who would inevitably insist that "he just wants to do something different!" or what not, [hide][/hide]
  8. That thread is a perfect example of why sometimes I feel "efficiency trolls" should have the quotation marks removed. wut.....? One gave gave honest advice, the OP declined it and gave a reason as to why, which is fine. The original advice giver responded saying he didn't understand the decline, and why, which is fine. And then 2 people jumped on him for being an efficiency troll.... Not once did the advice giver troll, insult, instigate flame, or patronize anyone in the thread. Nice try though. I see one person repeatedly asking why OP wants to charge orbs by himself. I see two people giving genuine advice that actually answers OP's question. I see another person making snide comments and I see one mod trying to stop it before it got out of hand. I see the OP twice trying to explain why he wanted to do it his way, instead just getting the whole "your way is stupid" thing. Hello, I'm 90 Strength and I would like to get to 99. However, I will only train on God Wars bosses, and only with an Adamant Scimitar set to "Defensive." What would be the fastest way for me to do this? Sometimes, a question is ridiculous enough that there is no good advice beyond "don't do it."
  9. In your opinion. But that doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. In what way you have fun is not stated by a definition it is an opinion. Research provides the best known way to do something. Is that an opinion? Best known mathematically, but that isn't how some people have fun. If you're idea of fun is to get the most exp/gp/points/rank out of your time, so be it. Some of us don't think of it like that. But that's not the point. The point is that you can't measure how an individual has fun, and you can't really tell someone what will be fun for them, and what will not. It's quite hypocritical. For instance, look at fast dungeoneering versus slow dungeoneering. Undoubtedly there will be people who say that slow dungeoneering is less stressful, more fun, etc. What they're missing is that there are people who feel exactly the opposite. Fast dungeoneering is less frustrating, less repetitive, etc. Fun isn't quantifiable. Something that's fun for you isn't necessarily fun to someone else. Therefore, advice should never be given in terms of what method is more fun. Advice should always be towards achieving the goals presented, and having fun isn't really a goal anyone can help you with. I have seen many threads where players asked other ways (fun ways) then the efficient way to train a skill . Why should advice not been given in terms of fun if the player asks for it? Player A has fun killing Armoured Zombies. Player B has fun playing Castle Wars. Player C posts a topic asking for a fun way to train melee. How can you honestly answer this question? If you're Player A, can you automatically assume that Player C has fun the same way as you? Or do you have to assume he has fun some other way, because Player B always complains to him, "Armoured Zombies aren't fun!" If it's not right for an efficient player to always assume that other players have fun playing efficiently, it's just as wrong for someone to assume that someone doesn't have fun playing efficiently. Even if they ask for a fun method, you can't really give them proper advice on it.
  10. * I live in a cave and cook game over an open fire. I've never known the luxury of living in a modern house with bathrooms, kitchen appliances, electricity, etc. But I'm perfectly happy living in a cave, so why would I need to try it? Just because you like something doesn't mean you can't find something that serves your needs better.
  11. That's not helpful advice in the slightest. If someone posts asking advice in achieving a goal, the advice given should always be in an attempt to achieve that goal in the best quantifiable manner. That is to say, something fast, something cheap, or something that takes less effort. If you dislike being told what's fun, then you should understand that you are doing EXACTLY that when offering advice that's inefficient, on account of it being "fun". Fun is not quantifiable. There is no method that's inherently more fun than another to each and every person. You say you don't like it when people tell you what to do for fun, so stop doing it to other people, and when you offer advice, focus on something that IS quantifiable - how much money you can make in an hour, or how fast you can train in an hour, or how much you can get for your money, or how much experience/money you can get for your efforts.

  13. Thanks guys, I think I found it. This one actually feels better, except for one thing. For some reason, I can't walk up or down the hill going east-west. It's okay though, I can at least walk through the fence.
  14. Anyone know the best spot to cannon Suqahs? (region + cannon placement) I had a good spot before, but someone put a farm in my way.
  15. Not necessarily. Trolling is posting with an intent to bait others into responding in an emotional manner. Sometimes, they're just giving genuinely bad advice. They're not trying to annoy or infuriate other people, they just aren't knowledgeable about the subject matter.
  16. Lol @ 35 Fire talismans from dark beasts. That's 4 more than Nex gave me. :(
  17. Yes, the Zamorak enemies will attack you if you don't wear a Zamorak item. Pernix / Virtus / Torva / Zaryte Bow automatically count as all four types of god items, which is why I said get a Pernix Cowl and Mercenary gloves. If you can't afford the Cowl, you'll probably need a Zamorak item.
  18. Get a Pernix cowl and Mercenary gloves (the former boosts unicorn healing and counts as all god items.) Use a Divine, Elysian, Spectral or EEKS. Chaotic crossbow > Rune crossbow, Ranger boots > Infinity. Get that ring imbued. Get Rigour. If you can afford it, Pernix body / chaps greatly increase unicorn/brew healing as well. With 3 people, you shouldn't need Saradomin brew. Bring 2 in case you get into a pinch, but you probably won't use them. 2 Overloads for every Unicorn pouch you bring, fill the rest with prayer / super prayer.
  19. If you knew it had nothing to do with row, why would you have asked: Unless you're implying they would've found the bug testing RoW on Corp. Which is not the case, because the bug only affected lootshare, which obviously would not have been used to test RoW. I do know what I'm talking about, thank you very much. There was no reason whatsoever for Jagex to randomly test what happens when you lootshare a specific boss monster, after an update that shouldn't have had any effect on lootshare.
  20. Why don't you try actually knowing what the bug was before acting like a smart-ass to a Jagex mod about it? The bug had nothing to do with RoW besides being released on the same day of the RoW upgrade. The bug was purely with the drop table misbehaving in lootshare. You could have a whole LS team using Berserker rings, and you would still get a Sigil every kill. Of course Jagex should've tested it. But hindsight's always 20/20. Here's an update to an item that DOESN'T WORK in lootshare. So of course they'd test it non-lootshare. Maybe they'd kill one or two random monsters with lootshare on to see if RoW has a glitched effect on lootshare (which it didn't), but there's no reason to suddenly think one specific monster would have its drop table accidentally changed.
  21. A lot of people. I'm always on lunars, except for: - Do no evil quest - Dagannoth Kings - Ice Strykewyrms It's great for farming and allows all ancient, lunar, and normal teleports.
  22. Protect from magic / Deflect magic doesn't work against any type of metal dragon.
  23. Sounds more like you just want more money. [/greed] I'd make him Advertise me on the front page as well as make him CW with me for 12 hours flat to rack up my games/rank and/or make him gimme the highest CW armor, since I've gotten 700+ tickets without a clan since 2005. (Surely that must be a accomplishment of some sorts with welfare gear) LOL. The last thing we'd do at Nex for more money is invite someone who doesn't know what he/she is doing. XD
  24. The Jagex Mod should come Nex with us with reasonable equipment and stats. I want to see how good J-Mods are at killing their own creation. ^_^
  25. 1) Nex has never been confirmed to drop Ancient ceremonial of any sort. That's coming from a personal experience of over 500 Nex kills, as well as going through drop logs with thousands of kills. 2) Nex drops 375 Onyx bolts (e). Not 250. Have seen this drop over 40 times and I'm pretty sure I can get a screenshot if necessary as it's a fairly common drop. 3) Nex drops 5000 Blood rune. I don't know if the 500 is a typo, misreported, or from the rare drops table (and thus a separate drop). She also drops 5000 Death runes. However, both of these drops are fairly rare (had each of them twice in the ~500 kills). 4) She drops 2400 Coal, not 500. She drops 400 Green dragonhide, not 200. She does not drop Frost dragon bones. She drops 375 Magic logs, not 200. She drops 80 Runite ore, not 30. She drops 12 Torstol seed, not 4 or 5. 5) She can either drop 30 Saradomin brews and 10 Super restores, or 30 Super restores and 10 Saradomin brews. 6) She does not drop random herbs. Instead, she can either drop 75 Grimy avantoe AND 75 Grimy dwarf weed together, or 40 Grimy torstol. 7) She does not drop two Ancient effigies. She can potentially drop one, like any other monster. There are several other drops on the list that I've personally never seen or heard of, but they could just be exceedingly rare like the Blood/Death runes. EDIT: Err... I think this belongs in bestiary. I haven't posted many corrections before.
