  1. Because nobody wants them. Personally? I've never had a cashpile bigger than 20m. My (melee) combat stats are damn near 90 and up. I think we have different definitions of "easy". Sorry for a double post. I have a friend right now who's around level 125. None of his melee stats are over 90. He only has one 99 skill (ranged) and used his WGS experience to finish it (kind of an odd choice, but whatever). He barely hunts bosses, since he's completely outclassed combat-wise by your truly and his other friends who hunt bosses. He's a slow dungeoneer (so am I but that's beyond the point). He doesn't stake, but he does occasionally PK (sometime with a mouse toy, othertimes with a magic shortbow and black hides). He can kill frost dragons now, but only has a war tortoise. He's got most of the way to Overloads paid for. He's also going to have at least a 100M bank after 92 Herblore is completed. No offense, but either you have never tried to make money, or you're a feckless spender. You've got multiple 99s according to your signature, and your combat stats are more than enough to camp dragons or whatever else happens to seem fun and makes money. I don't see how getting a few hundred million is out of reach at all... Its not out of reach, we just can't be bothered to reach for it. I don't like moneymaking, I like training skills, hence why I have fairly high skills, but have never had more than 30M gp. Hopefully people figure out a fast way to gain respect because that is the only way I'd train at this place since LRC superheating is ftw. :shades: But even training skills can be profitable given you do enough of it. Like I said, I've only gone 90 to 93 fishing so far and I've already earned around 8M doing it. I'll probably have earned close to 30M by the time I get 99. Runecrafting can be fairly profitable to. When I went from 75 to 80 recently crafting nature runes, prices were way down for Nature runes and fairly high for rune essence. Despite that, I still made around 10M after factoring costs for the Graahks and other stuff. I also earned a good 3M just off 77 to 80 mining. Not a lot of money, I'll admit. But it's there. In fact, absurd as it may seem, even firemaking can profitable (although I highly suggest against actually doing this). A short while ago, ashes were worth more in the Grand Exchange than the maple logs. Obviously neither a good way of making money nor a good use of time, but it just goes to show that almost any skill has profitable approaches (with a few exceptions, primarily money-sink skills like Construction).

  3. I am well aware of that, I was merely correcting him. Just because it isn't a great money maker doesn't mean you can't make money that way. Runecrafting and Fishing, for instance, can still make money eventually - it'll just take more time. Just going 90 to 93 fishing casually while watching videos and doing homework has earned me ~8M. I made a fair bundle training slayer so far too, and will probably make more on my way to finish off 99. The point is, someone who likes fishing but hates smithing can eventually make his way to a full Virtus set just by doing something he likes. Same for RC. Same for any number of other methods that make money, be it small amounts or large amounts - flax picking, collecting herblore seconds, killing Chaos druids for herbs, hunting dragons, etc. However, someone who hates herblore will never be able to get Extreme potions unless he sucks it up and just does Herblore. Back when Amulets of Fury were released, people with high crafting could profit. I would much rather skills be useful for their tradeable products and money earning potential, than encumber combat with a dozen skill requirements for untradeable overpowered items.
  4. Some pieces are already down to under 200M. Even without very high stats, you can make that pretty easily doing slayer, camping dragons, certain skilling methods, and so on. I remember Bandos chestplate and tassets at 50M, and tons of people levels 100 to 110 had them. That's already a third of the price of a Virtus mask right there. Virtus robe legs aren't too much higher. That's why tradeable rewards > untradeable. Even if you don't like the activity involved, you can still attain the reward by doing something else profitable, preferably something you like doing.
  5. Glanced at your high scores. At least get 99 magic. Nex tends to focus on people with lower magic defense, and ideally damage is evenly distributed across your team so the whole team lasts for the full length of the trip. Most of your team mates will probably have 99 magic, so get that. Shield could be improved. Lately people have stopped using EEKS - Unholy Book, or even Book of Law is better. Ideally, get a Divine / Elysian. Void is sort of hit-and-miss. Some teams love it, some teams hate it. Unless you're going with a void-only team, you want a normal armor set too, since being the only one in Void is absolutely terrible.
  6. A platebody offering +5 strength would be pretty game-changing, as that outclasses both Bandos and Torva armors in that facet (which is probably the biggest reason people buy Bandos armor at all). Maybe if it offered +3 strength, but then people would complain it's not good enough. Honestly, smithing does have its rewards - armor repair costs. Instead of creating new rewards that wind up messing with current game balance, why not just improve an existing reward? 92 - Permanently repair a barrows helm 93 - Permanently repair a barrows legs 94 - Permanently repair a barrows plate 95 - Permanently repair a barrows weapon 96 - Permanently repair a Virtus mask, Torva full helm, or Pernix cowl 97 - Permanently repair a Virtus robe legs, Torva platelegs, or Pernix chaps 98 - Permanently repair a Virtus robe top, Torva platebody, or Pernix body 99 - Permanently repair a Zaryte Bow or Frozen Key Wouldn't have to be for free, could charge a price maybe 5x the normal repair cost or something. If you're PKed with it, it's treated the same way as degraded armor (barrow gear turns to 0 charged). Untradeable. Creating new armors just blurs the line between a combat and non-combat skill (many people still argue that Herblore should be included in your combat level, and frankly, I agree), and creates imbalances that result in restrictions (Extremes banned in dangerous PvP).
  7. high level nowadays entails 100+ dg (all chaotics + rigour), around 80m+ in gear at least, 99 summ, 95 pray, maxed combat i view sub 100 dg as a huge weakness. having chaotics to throw around is very convenient. you should MH. it's at least 3m an hour. nex is around 10-20m/hr. From that list, I have everything but 100 dung. I don't have the contacts to have a steady team in order to dungeoneer (apart from DGS, which lately aren't doing the floors I need), or to boss hunt. Boss hunting doesn't require a team anymore, except Nex and maybe Corp.
  8. Nah. That's my first Virtus split ever. Jett's data doesn't point to Virtus being that common honestly, either.
  9. To be fair Ancient hasn't died in the past 50+ kills, and I've only died three times in ~200 kills.
  10. Dark Bow special with Dragon Arrows does a minimum of 80 damage (56 after divine) per hit. 7 Dark Bows = 784 damage minimum guaranteed. He's got less than 206 LP left to survive the barrages and any extra damage on the Dark Bows.
  11. First time ever getting the drop (and thus the adventurer's log message).
  12. I know, they're terrible. But it's the fastest way to get accustomed to basic things. Essentially, you just want to get in the room, see Nex's various phases and attacks, and get some firsthand experience of what it's like fighting Nex. You don't need to be successful or anything. I would never suggest teaming with RSOF teams full-time, but it's definitely good to do it once or twice, just so you're not going into the room completely blind when a good team offers you a spot. You're not even really looking for strategy. You just want to get used to the pacing of her attacks, the way she moves around the room, etc.
  13. There are too many ideas being tossed in the air for a definitive "best" method at the moment. Honestly, it sounds like you have pretty much everything you could need except Karils, Void, and Ancient ceremonial robes. Get those, follow some RSOF teams until you become acclimated (just follow their guidelines, and practice a bit), then start looking for a real team to go with.
  14. Is it? That's good news... I guess. ffs why get 4 man plate without me btw were you guys doing 4:3 with curses? No. We normally go 4:2, but last night, we went 4:1.5 thanks to Will Smith.
  15. Is it? That's good news... I guess.
  16. This. It's lulzworthy when someone tries to lure a Divine tribrid who basically goes down there expecting to tank all three kings for most of the trip.
  17. Just remember to never accidentally bring your ancient ceremonial robes or your frozen key into the boss room. And always recharge your key when it falls to 2 charges. Also, there's a reason I said just LS normally. It's not for drops, just for learning really.
  18. DFS is a waste. You could try Rapier + Dragon Defender - I've heard that with a defender, Rapier isn't bad. You should consider Rigour though. I was fortunate enough to find a team here on TIF that gave me a chance, and I'm pretty confident I've been pulling my own throughout, but a lot of teams aren't so flexible. Rigour + CCB + CLS / Maul is pretty much the standard at the moment, the less you deviate from that, the more likely you are to find a team that's willing to get you started. Also, it might be better to start with RSOF teams (not splitting ones, just LS ones perhaps) until you get the basics down. Hate to break it to you, but spamming Slice and Dice is pretty much essential for beating Nex consistently. Also, difficult to kill doesn't necessarily have to mean it takes a while to kill.
  19. What armour were you using? I'm going to try out Karils + Neitz helm + curses on my next trip and see how smoothly it goes What weapon are you using? Dwarven helmet and Fighter hat may be better choices. May want to switch with a Pernix Cowl too.
  20. Lies and slander. I'm not the one who had the hots for Will Smith the entire trip!
