  1. You can discuss the afterlife without religion by bringing metaphysics into it.

I had that code originally. The @import was just my last attempt, and as it worked I left it.

I'm having some problems applying CSS to my website. djp :: main page ... This is what I've got so far (as far as importing .css files is concerned). It worked the first time, but adding in changes and re-uploading my .css file doesn't seem to be working. Does it usually take a while for changes to take effect?
  4. Are you talking specifically about the lack of religious threads? No, I'm talking specifically about the lack of argumentative threads about things that matter to people in real life. An argument about a video game subforum pales in comparison to an ethical argument like Saddam's hanging (the last decent thread here imo, and it was locked).
  5. There are no threads with potential for disagreement. There are no threads about topics that actually make a difference. Everyone was so anxious to avoid conflict (topic starter included, I believe). Well, now you've got it, and I guess you don't like it. Lack of conflict is proportional to lack of interest.
  6. But he inadvertently controls lightning. Which makes sense, as thunder is simply the sound lightning makes.
  7. St. Catharines hit 12 yesterday :( I just want the ponds to freeze over...

Center Ice is the way to go. It has 10 channels of Hockey so you don't miss a game. (Unless your a Chicago fan because they don't bother televising...) / end advertisement. Yeah, I would love that, except that StarChoice doesn't offer it as an option. Every other satellite/cable company does except for StarChoice :|

If you have a song that you composed, then you shouldn't need advice on how to play it, as it's your song. If you don't have a song yet and you're running out of time, learn "Valentine" by the Get Up Kids. It's easy and relevant :P
  11. Christian metal? Project 86.

Raycroft hasn't exactly been stellar for the Leafs. Man, this is so bittersweet. Every game that the Leafs do well is shown on this stupid LeafsTV and blacked out for everyone that doesn't subscribe to this $123409/mo. channel. Not to mention in 10 goals Sundin managed 1 point, Kaberle 2 points, and McCabe 0 points. It would have been nice to see our "stars" pad their statistics a bit. Not that there's anything wrong to see Stajan and Steen producing, as they were long past due.

Toronto needs a win against Boston tonight. They're a point ahead of Boston, but Boston has 4 games in hand.
  14. Hey, I never said killing people was wrong. I said murdering people was wrong. I believe I explained on the first page (or second page) that using the word killing in place of the world murder, or vice versa is equivocation.
  15. Please explain why you like to use loaded language. The judgement being hypocritical, torturous or just is completely relative, depending on your beliefs. I might not believe in capital punishment but that doesn't stop me from respecting rulings which involve the death sentence. People hold different ideas of what justice is, you need to get over that the world revolves around you and let people just be. Firstly, what's loaded language? Loaded language is using emotional terms that haven't been proven true to try and make a point. In this case, the word 'hypocritical'. It has been explained to you time and again that Saddam murdered innocent people, while killing Saddam isn't considered murder because he is not innocent. Thus it is NOT hypocritical to kill Saddam and using such a word is fallacious and designed to stir up emotions in other people that don't realize that it isn't hypocritical.
  16. $1000 wouldn't buy you a very nice pool table, so I suggest ping pong. It's loads of fun, I had a ping pong table, and then we ditched it for a pool table, and I'm happy with both. BUT, that's because we have a nice pool table... a bad one just isn't fun. I'd suggest getting a nice ping pong table.

Exactly. We play all goals are one point each. If you score off the "face-off" without the opponent touching the ball, the goal doesn't count.
  18. Your questions are irrelevant in that if people take pleasure in hearing "Saddam is dead", it's for the exact same reasons that they take pleasure in watching him die. It's the same argument, just without the video involved. They're taking pleasure in justice - some like to hear the story, while some like to get it for themselves.
  19. You can't make blanket statements like that. You're assuming he enjoyed watching the video because he likes watching death. That is a hasty conclusion and one that you did not support. Perhaps he just likes watching justice being served. He enjoyed watching it. Death of someone should never be enjoyable. Ever. Let me repeat myself. He wasn't watching the video for the sake of watching someone die. He was watching the video for the sake of watching justice being served. You're assuming it was the death that was enjoyable - I'm assuming that it was the justice of the act that was enjoyable; it just so happened that justice was served in a generally non-desirable way, but it doesn't change the fact that it was justice, and that is what is enjoyable about it.

  21. What do you mean decent. Im having a pretty damn good life here :P Ditto.
  22. So he got shot because he played a bad game?
  23. You're equivocating murder with killing. They aren't the same. Saddam murdered people - when Saddam was given the death penalty, I would consider that killing Saddam, not murdering him.
  24. That's it. Thank you very much :D
