Good ways to work out?
If you want to lose fat around the waist area, run. It only takes a month of running half an hour per day (every other day) to start finding a noticeable difference in your waistline. As far as working out, what are you hoping to achieve through it? Do you want to lose weight or gain muscle?

NHL
Watching the Penguins game tonight has been so much fun. Crosby's got 5 points, and this is before the game is half over!

Have you been sick this winter?
I never get sick. I don't worry about germs, washing my hands all the time, I don't take vitamins, I don't drink orange juice, and I eat unhealthy. I think the more you worry about it, the greater chance there is you'll get sick :P

A New Law in Ontario.
They didn't make the law because they thought dropouts were unfit to drive. They made the law to discourage people from dropping out.

Firefox
That happened to me when I updated my Tab Mix Plus extension. I just disabled the extension and I got all my favourites back.

A New Law in Ontario.
It's those that drop out of high school that the law applies to. It's not too hard to get your high school diploma. Plus, in Ontario, it's pretty hard to get any type of job (including trade) without a high school diploma.

Texas: You just can't make this stuff up anymore.
So how does the bill look in it's not-insulting-to-americans contexted form then? EDIT: barihawk did a better job than I. Look below.

Texas: You just can't make this stuff up anymore.
You're taking a bill out of context to try and insult Americans.

Can God Hate?
There's more, but I just wanted to throw one example out there.

Worst Thing You've Drank
Am I taking this out of context? Because, I really don't think most people in the world are lactose intolerant.

Stumped Teacher.
At least he had the balls to admit he didn't know. Most teachers I knew in high school would make something up or say "that's too complex for your level".

Changing Your Style, Parents Hate It?
That's kind of what I did. I lived away from home for 9 months, and coming back home was like stepping back into childhood. Since then I've found independence in every way except for shelter (which requires money). I pay my own insurance, gas, toiletries, clothing, social stuff, entertainment, and most of my school. Only thing I don't pay for is rent and food. Aside from that I'm totally independent, which is as far as I can get until I get my degree.

Changing Your Style, Parents Hate It?
I get the feeling you're not telling the whole story. From your parent's point of view, have there been any negative side effects to this "style change"? (and yes, I'm assuming there has been a behavioural change as well, which may be the source of this negative feedback from the 'rents)

defining/catagorizing people, right or wrong?
I think so. There's a bunch of people in my program whose names I don't know. They have now become "guy with glasses", "guy with hat", and "guy with beard".

Not what I had in mind...
That's like saying "beans taste good, no?". It totally depends on the person, the course, and the specific area within IT that is being studied.

How was your year in 2006?
Good: -I survived the hardest semester I'll ever have at university (with honours to boot!) -Made some new friends -Am gaining/have gained experience in my future field -Exams will be over in 4 days and then I can do whatever I want for 3 weeks! Bad: -Lacking a social life at the moment. A few of my friends are being quite exclusive with their girlfriends but I know they're just in the "infatuation stage" so we'll start hanging out again soon. -Currently do not have a summer job lined up. I know it's December, but hey, I like to have my bases covered.

Not what I had in mind...
I think he said it was boring. @Krunk; if you make a decision, make it fast so you can get your second half tuition back. If you're in first year, losing one semester total isn't a big deal at all (happens all the time around here; i have a friend that has switched his major 3 times) and you could always work during the 2nd semester that you'll be missing to pay back your parents.

Not what I had in mind...
Any way you could stay at the same school to become an EMT and use the classes you're taking now as electives?

Anybody play normal games?
Me and my friends play alot of Boggle, Monopoly, Risk, Settlers of Catan (Seafarers, Cities and Knights, etc), and Axis and Allies.

Rules of Thumb
A teacher who teaches the subject of "IT" (no specialisation) at secondary school or below. I had two high school IT teachers. One was dumber than a door nail and the other, while he was a terrible teacher, knew quite a bit about computing. I was just making sure you weren't including professors in that rule of thumb though :P

Wii...Not original?
I don't get it though. It seems like I could just make up an idea for something like a wireless lightswitch and then sue the company that makes it in 50 years? Pretty much so long as no one's done it before and it's not obvious :\ Even if I have no intent to actually make one? Or any idea of how I would go about making one?

Wii...Not original?
Whether or not the company suing Nintendo actually ever planned on actualizing their patent should play a role in this, but probably won't. This is just like RIM (Blackberry) getting sued because some company in the US patented "email through a phone", even though they never planned on actually making a phone with those capabilities. It's when people start patenting general things that it really starts to bug me. Like why don't I go and patent the idea of game controllers and then sue Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony? I hate companies like this...
