What do you know yourself to be? Why do you want to seek knowledge and to explore? What would be the point of that. What are you looking for? Pft I assumed the answers were already included. For the first part, that would be waaaaay too long to explain, so that's why I summarized into one sentence. And why? I already told you that. I said that even God wouldn't know why, let alone any of his creation. Your last question is valid. I'm looking for answers. Answers to what I do not know, but heck, I may as well look.

1. Who are you? I am what I know myself to be. At least, as far as I know. :) 2. What are you doing here? Ah, the unanswerable question. I really don't know. However, if I have to give myself purpose for now, it would be to seek knowledge and to explore all the facets of life, while also keeping some degree of happiness and an upright, but common-sense moral structure. 3. What is your purpose? Even God, if there is a God, could not answer that question, for he knows not why he exists, and therefore could not possibly give his creation any meaning.

Oi Ian, about where do you live? City wise, because I'm about 20 minutes south of Dayton in Springboro. :) My thermometer says 2.1 F outisde

I hear ya...same thing's been happening to green dragons in the wildy. Dragon bone prices have plummeted, and d hide prices are down considerably too. On another note, I live in Ohio and I got a snow day too today. :)

Oi I second that statement.

It costs 2-6 times more to kill someone than to imprison them for life.

You know, there are more minorities in the US than just African Americans... 12% of the US population is black, 15% is Mexican, and 4% is Asian. Perhaps you all should discuss affirmative action based on the fact that these three types are all included in it. For some reason, you all have completely focused your attention on black people. And stop calling each other racists. While it may be somewhat true for some people, I'm sure it's not always intentional, and it really doesn't get anyone anywhere. People are bound to make "racist" remarks as they learn, because part of learning is understanding, and that takes time and patience.

No matter what you believe... It's still generally a good idea to reduce pollution. You can't argue with that.

Except stereotypes don't always apply to race. e.g All blondes are dumb. That's why I said the principle is the same. :) To be constructive, stereotypes have historically served to protect. They are only bad when they cannot be changed in light of evidence that they are not true. Initial stereotypes help to protect and help to predict.

I believe you are asking the same question as the thread asking "Is racist prejudice always unjust?" Maybe not the exact same, but the same principle applies.

I've gone from 70 to 77 herblore (I have enough herbs for lvl 80 in my bank) all from manage thy kingdom. Granted, I've been doing this for several months, but it's the cheapest way to do it, hands down. Oh, and I've also grown my own herbs quite often. Manage thy kingdom...just do it while you train other skills. I've barely put any effort into the skill at all other than getting seconds. Takes a while...but it's easy. :)

I want you all to read a little comment I found on Digg (a technology news site). This is a very insightful comment, and it's from the affected party's point of view. "Admittedly, being black myself I often put myself in situations not unlike what was described in the commentary. What people don't understand is that even amongst black people there is something of a "schism" between the classes. Middle-to-upper class blacks want nothing more than to distance themselves from their lower classed counterparts. It's not difficult to pick these sort of people out. Few of their friends are black. They dress differently. Speak a different vernacular. All of this is intended to act as a clue to others, particularly non-blacks, that they are "different" from their lower-classed counterparts. They (we) intend this as a means to differentiate ourselves so that we are more palatable to a society that is otherwise not apt to accept a full integration of typical black ways of dress, speech, and behavior. Unfortunately there is a code of silence. Not only between blacks and whites who are afraid to address issues of race, but even among blacks ourselves. Bill Cosby's words while needlessly harsh and paternalistic, were nonetheless true. We can't expect Tayshaun to go to a college, get an education, and integrate into American society when he instead is captive to the lyrics of 50 Cent, chooses a substandard form of the English language, and drops out of school. It hurts for us to address these issues because we understand that a lot of it is true. I have quite possibly upset many other African-Americans reading this. However, one must also consider that society places pressure of many Blacks in America to "conform" to what society wants them to be. While "acting black" may be cool for the White kid, he can easily morph his way of speech, change his style of dress, conceal his taste in music, I, on the other hand, can never disguise my race. To anyone who doesn't know me, I'm just another Black guy. I'm just another drug-dealing, wanna-be aspiring rap artist, on a one-way path to prison. Society places pressure on Blacks to conform or die. It is this situation that leads some blacks to adapt. That is, dress differently, talk differently, and keep a lot of white friends. Alternatively, it leaves some to not adapt -- that is, to not conform. Therefore, in what can be considered an act of defiance, dress differently, talk differently, perpetuate patterns of poverty because they are unwilling to integrate into what American society pressures them to be. I want nothing more than an open, honest discussion on race relations in America. It is long overdue, yet severely needed. If there were greater dialog perhaps situations for Blacks and non-Blacks could improve. Unfortunately, political correctness and uneasiness about the issue will prevent such from happening."

Is it always unjust? Absolutely not. Stereotypes and prejudice are a defense mechanism, ensuring survival. However, we are now more educated and must understand that prejudice merely impedes progress these days. The world is more...unified, if you will. :)

Where Are All The High Level People From??
gonpost replied to nightspirit's topic in General Discussion
119 combat, from the USA (ohio, if it matters) 99 prayer ftw! -
I just broke 100,000 fire runes about two weeks ago. :) I went to 85 slayer and got a ton of fire runes there, and I had a bunch more from previous training, and then I got my last few thousands by training on fire giants for a good amount of time. I haven't bought any of them. :) One million from pure training though...rather unlikely.

Updated with a table of contents, a very nice map, and some revamped comments. :) Also, I've moved on with combat...I'm sorry but I'm not going to do a f2p section for the sake of my sanity. If anything, I'll add more information than what I have, but only about the current monsters that are on the list.

How do you scam real life money!? Prison is 4 me!

Gamble on the stock market.... :D Although that usually ends up in bankruptcy for about 90% of people. -
Hey guys, I'm back from skiing! I also took about 2 days off for a LAN party and to do some school things...but I'm here for a little while now (until exams anyway). Now to answer some questions... Well, the main reason is that they are hard to hit. They have a good number of hitpoints, but they are somewhat hard to hit at times...also, if you use guthans to heal, this can slow down the process a bit. There are times when I can kill 2 entire demons without healing even once. Thanks for the confirmation, I wasn't entirely sure that I was correct. :) Well, here's the way I see it. Would you rather hit 1 higher rather often, or would you rather hit an extra 20 every so often? It's up to you. Some people prefer berserker helmet/ring, I just prefer the warrior set. Just ask yourself if you would rather have +7 strength or +9 attack, your choice. Right, thanks for that. Let's see...I did a visit to the experiments recently, and let me tell you, I'm not sure they're even worth my time trying. I couldn't find any server that didn't have at least two people training (and i tried 15ish servers),and I killed the experiments too quickly for them to respawn, so I had to run all over to get them. They seem quite slow and only suitable for those with very little defense. Otherwise, should I really do the f2p studies? Would that be worth the time? Should I actually include strategies for killing the monsters? Thanks. :)
-
I won't give you any names in specific, but what I do want to say is that you should make the name MEAN something to you.
-
Of course! Experiments! Thank your for reminding me. I can't guarantee that I can do this too soon, seeing as today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow is Christmas, but I may be able to squeeze them in later this evening. Gromit, thanks for that list, however, I'll not be able to do that many until around the end of December. The reason is that I'm leaving to go skiing the day after Christmas for about 4-5 days, so obviously I won't be here. Anyway, thanks guys. :)

Hmm....at which monsters would you suggest I try for f2p? Good idea. At the moment I can think of lesser demons, greater demons in the wildy (possibly), skeletons on crandor, mossies on crandor, ice warriors/giants... I'd imagine I would have to wear f2p gear, wouldn't I? Oh, and I made mention in the beginning of my post that the exp you get will be different depending on your combat level, of course. :)

Per request, dust devils have been studied for one hour and added to the guide. If you think of any other monsters that I forgot, please let me know. :)
-
Yes, they are extremely close together....that's why they're so good.
-
Lord_Gromit, you make a good point. Later today I'll do the dust devils and add them in here. They are, after all, a popular melee training place. :) Some of you are saying that you are very surprised by the moss giants...well let me say, I was too! Read the notes that I have written under the moss giants. Also, the moss giants on the pirate's cove have 85 hp, which I *think* is more than normal? Well, either way, I could really tell that they were indeed very good experience, because I nearly always hit them when training on them. I'm just saying this to show you that I didn't mess up or anything. ;)
-
Good idea! I'll get on that. :) Edit: Done.
