  1. I'm sad to hear that. I recently lost a friend to drunk driving. It's harsh. :( But marijuana isn't inherently as dangerous as alcohol is; I've been in cars with somebody stoned driving literally thousands of times, and I've never felt at risk. I actually feel safer than when I'm in a car with a driver who hasn't smoked some pot. I find that the majority of baked drivers drive slower and more carefully, and are much more "Defensive" drivers than usual. On the other hand, some people have their bad driving skills or aggresive attitudes exacerbated by smoking weed, and can drive extremely poorly or recklessly. The bottom line is some people drive just as well, if not better, when they are stoned. Know your driver, and always wear your seatbelt.
  2. I thought Starcraft: Brood War had a sikkk ending. A new race combining the zerg and protoss is created, the hot, female, alien-possessed, ex-soldier controls the known universe, and alot of the (better) minor characters are still wandering around the universe waiting for Starcraft 2.
  3. Somebody already explained that. Anyway, if USA today was actually liberal they might report the truth.
  4. Exactly. I recommend people actually read the 9/11 Commission Report themselves. Its narrative shows either criminal incompetence in the government, FAA, military, and NORAD, or a conscious failure to act. Those looking for a detailed criticism of the most gaping holes in the report may look to the excellent book "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions" by David Griffin. We need a new investigation, now.
  5. They should give them away, and then sell the games for 5,000$ each.

    Daily Habits?

Early in the morning risin' to the street Light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet
  7. Guess we'll see. I think my theory is supported by the actual events in the book, and just like most of the characters in the book you are fooled by Dumbeldores refusal to give up on people; Snape is not a good guy, in my opinion. He's too ambitious.
  8. Made even more hilarious by how much the media is skewing it out of proportion, and hating on the perpetrators. This Boston Herald article was particularly entertaining.
  9. First of all, Ahmadinejad does not have very much real power within the Iranian government. Second, Iran is not supplying IEDs to the insurgents within Iraq. http://www.guardian.co.uk/analysis/stor ... 28,00.html

  11. Green tea is awesome, but not that awesome. Now take an energy drink like Sobe on the other hand...One sip is worth at least three pack years.
  12. I already linked to a video of a press conference and a news article with many official statements. I believe that the official statements are crap, and that my local government crapped up. Hence, the satirical video, which also contains clips of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, for those not familiar.

  14. Well, your suggestions don't really make for a fair world. The world is completely fair right now, in regards to doing well in school and succeeding at dating, the examples you brought up. If you play sports and practice constantly, you can become one of the "Macho" guys you are whining about. If you studied constantly you could get excellent grades. You ask about free will, free will is the ability to change who you are through your own willpower, without worrying about what people will think or about the strains on your mind and body. Anybody can be a jock and get chicks or study hard and get straight A's, but if you can wait for a girl you really like, and get grades you are satisfied with, you will be a better person for it.
  15. Whatever. Here in Boston the media coverage was intense and stupid. I'm tired of fake terrorist alerts. The government created the terrorists, and now they create the alerts. I don't want to see code red flashing on my TV every time some hippy glues a lite-brite to a bridge.
  16. Snape is obviously going to be the driving antagonist in the next book. He has effectively killed the two most powerful wizards of the century. First, by listening in on and then informing to Voldemort the prophecy, which would caused Voldemorts death. Second, he killed Dumbledore. The potion which Dumbledore drank before Snape killed him was probably the draught of living death. Dumbledore resisted the effects for as long as possible. Somebody in the Black family left a note in the basin that contained the draught and the locket, and Snape hates the Black family.
  17. No...But you can blame the media for their "Up to the second" reporting of the (not so) mysterious packages. And Boston prematurely activating a code red terrorist alert.
  18. Oh, I'm sorry, did I have a point of view that you didn't agree with? I'm sorry my opinion offended you, but I don't really feel that old age is going to be a big party of my life.
  19. The first one wasn't very good, I'm surprised by how much detail was in the new one I just watched.
  20. Hindsight is 20/20...Hitler was doing alot of good things in terms of effectively running a socialist state. Healthcare was great, for example. He built up the infrastructure, supported famillies, etc...It was difficult to predict what happened. Even after the holocaust, it took Pearl Harbour (which was largely preventable, either there was knowledgable failure to act or extreme incompetence) to get the US into WW2, so there was no chance we would have attacked Hitler when he captured some tiny unimportant state like....Poland.
  21. There are currently a new wave of cheaper more effective AIDs drugs. I agree we have a good record in defending US interests, which is not what I meant by American intervention. Forgive my failure to more fully explain, my bad. My point was that it is difficult to find an example of a US 'Peacekeeping' mission that went well. Right. Guns for peace.
  22. There are different kinds of intelligence. School only judges a few kinds. And having lots of friends doesn't mean your smart, just charismatic. Anybody can have charm, it just takes self confidence. Nice guys finish last. That's not really part of the human condition, it's just where you are in life right now. There are plenty of chicks who dig 'Nice' guys, plenty of chicks who dig macho guys, and plenty of chicks who dig any kind of guy. You just have to go out and find them.
