Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Obviously the time between the moment that you get a clue, complete it, and get another one form the same monster can vary greatly. So it can be hard to establish an average with this...

The unofficial fletching guild
This could be the first step towards diversifying the trade worlds... For a long time, world 2 has been the main trade world (with literally everything sold and bought there). This could be a first step towards having different categories of items being sold on different worlds. For example, all ores and other smithing related material could be sold on a completely different world.

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Another price update: The more expensive items went down, and some of the cheaper items went up (possibly for set completion, which would suggest that there are more items out there then originally thought). I cant say this means much though. I think all 3rd age items have a long way to go up, still. But this dip in the price can possibly be explained by a few merchanters now selling the items instead of hoarding them. I'm still surprised that the new amulet (with its massive boost) has yet to pass the value of the Santa hat. Can't wait to hear Duke's thoughts on this...

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Have either of you heard of Vender commodities (atleast I think its called Vender)? Those describe certain things that are only popular to buy, because they are expensive, and infact decrease in popularity when they decrease in price. ertain handmade cars or ancient wines would fall under this I think. How do you two think such a term relates to RuneScape items? I think the perfect example is Phats, but thats just me...

Clans of Tip.it
tbh, Bufoman, if I read the clan directory, I see what, a few hundred clans? With each atleast 5 members, thats 500 that should atleast discuss on these forums, that is nto happening. Either many of these clans are dead, or many have the same members, or, at least to me, the most logical reasoning: Most clans just only came here with 1 recruitment post, and drew whioever away from here... I ask which clans are tip.it based. I know Knights of Honor and Guilds are, but who else?

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
No probs... Just surprised to see how, what I thought was a simple comparisson between new and old "rares", turned into a philisophical debate abiout how we interpret the value of things which have no use to us.

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Wow... Duke and Flamma(ble?) are goign at it... Both have vaklueable points, especially when comparing it to a painting of a now dead artist (Mondrian is a dutchy too)... However when bringing in the factor of these 3rd age items, and its popularity being right now being equal to, if not higher then phats, I can only guess that the actual rares will take a small dive, where the 3rd age items will for the time being climb rapidly... Interested to see what more you guys can compare it with, but please try to keep it closer to home (stay on topic and talk about phats vs 3rd age)...

Clans of Tip.it
I know that there are thousands of clans out there. But truth be told, the greatest portion does not come here to meet for whatever purpose (trade agreements, wars, whatever)... Only a handfull do. So that is why I ask: What are the clans of Tip.it Which clans rely almost solely on these forums without giving any regard to the other, by far more popular clan community. And do they have a reason for this? [uPDATE] So far we got (besides mine): PK Masters Militos Deci That makes 3 clans...

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
It IS possible. But if the droprate for 1 item is 1 in 10k, then the chance of getting 2 items in 1 clue, is 1 in 100m! That translates into 0,000001% So maybe somewhere within 20 years from now :P

Now That SwiftSwitch Has Been Changed....
I have on the netgamers network my own channel I use for my clan. Some people came there through SS, some through my webclient (check it out on my clansite), but most use mIRC. Basicly what they did (before allowing you to see all the beeped out stuff again by setting your mode to -f), was effectivly cutting off every access to links and what not. This spurred me on to make my own modified-for-noobs mIRC version with a color layout exactly as my webclient, to make the transition between it and mIRC easier. Thank god that they now put in mode f, this buys me some respite in perfecting my own mIRC version. For those that wish to see links and all the other nasty stuff again using SS v2.39 to connect to the SS chat (which is just another IRC server), you should type and enter this: /mode current username -f

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
I understand that you think it is impossible to know a certain price when an item is in it's stabalizing period. Yes you claim for several items the price during their own stabalizing period, so how do you explain that? Ever heard of price estimates? OMG I THINK THAT IS WHAT I DID!

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Malo2: My argument was that you used examples of high priced items at first who later stabilized. This stabilization of the items you mentioned, or atleast the decline in the price you pay for these items, were visible within the first week (btw, whips went for much much higher when they first came out, read the whole thread next time hmk?). It's been 42 days... 6 weeks... and the prices have only gone up. You acuse me of price manipulation with making such a thread about the price developments, and then you blame the merchanters for hoarding the 3rd age stuff, as to drive the prices up. Get your head out of your (fill in the blank), and think before you are putting your fingers to your keyboard. If I was to guess you are just a little kid who is seeing the chances ever owning such an item slipping through his fingers and lashing out at the nearest possible thing to vent his frustration...

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Malo2: You are absolutely right about 1 thing: Prices of new items are always INSANE when they come out "at first" as you said... The rest of what you said is just hot air when dealing with this 3rd age stuff... This thread STARTED a month after these items came out. And today, the estimated (figured I'd have to bold that word out for you) prices of these new items have only gone up... WAY up!... People make the prices with supply and demand. Demand is high as ever, supply is low at best, so low that you can not get a decent average on what these items sell for. This fact alone makes these items shoot up in value. Now you can acuse me all you want for trying to manipulate prices, thats not goign to actually make me stop discussing them. Take it up with a tip.it or jagex mod if you want. Duke Freedom: Ofcourse I'm going to keep track of these prices, but as of yet it is kind of hard. As for a graph, I'll try to collect the data, but as far as graphs go, you're gonna have to help me out. Everyone else: Having an opinion about the prices and wether or not they are going up or down, as well as speculating why, has no effect on the prices. It is how often these items are handled, who has them, and wether someone sells them or not. Right now it is safe to say that there are only a handfull of items being brought into the economy each day. If you happen to be one of these lucky few, think carefully what you do with it.

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Its amazing how quickly people can change their opinion. Less then a week ago, everyone was liek "nah, they are just new, they will drop in price". Now that they havent dropped, but risen in price LIKE I SAID THEY WOULD, all you hear is "It is (you are) price manipulation!"... I doubt that this thread has affected the price of these items. Get a grip

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
I understand the implication... But if you are acusing me of price manipulation, then youre barking up the wrong tree. I have been trying to get people to realise how rare such a 3rd Age item actually it, yes, but I dont have such an item, nor the cash to buy it. Your theory on merchanters does hold merit, I'll grant you that, and I'm sure many merchanters will thank me for making this thread. But I have not been tryign to manipulate the prices, merely just trying to point out the rarity of such things.

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
First price updates are in: Third Age kiteshield 90,000,000gp - 140,000,000gp Third Age platebody 90,000,000gp - 120,000,000gp I will keep the first post updated with the new prices, but the fact that these items have nearly doubled in value, makes the things that were estimated way off... If these items will continue to rise in value like this, then anyone getting such an item from a clue scroll will not sell it easily. Just because of that, the value will only go up even faster!!!

Jagex' new rares? - 3A vs discontinued - PRICE UPDATE 7/2
Not halting, maybe slowing them down a bit, but that was not the comparison I orginally made. I was saying that the ammount of 3rd age items per active subscriber will eventually decline, just like discontinued items...
