27 March 2007 - What Lies Below
It doesnt have a name, i checked... it was called adventure which is the standard music for Varrock Palace as far as i care... Its like the music you hear when entering the school in Dorges-Khaan, no name to that music, not even in the music list.... just a catchy tune... :)

Translation to the letter we're not supposed to read.
During the new quest, you get to send a letter form Rat Burgiss to Surok Magis, its this one: I've finished translating it: This begs to wonder that the second Surok Magic learns that he is being warned again, you still get ordered to run back and forth to Rat Burgiss by Surok... Jagex dropped the ball on this storyline?

27 March 2007 - What Lies Below
Is noone here seeing the option of a FAST FREE DOUBLE CHAOS company? Chaos runes ARE used, and in somem pretty common spells too: Ice, Blood, Smoke and Shadow Rush and Burst (8 spells) Crumble Undead (in the Temple Trekking minigame its pretty powerfull) That and it can be sold for Tokkul to get yourself a nice onyx gem. This would be used by low-mid lvl people who cant be bothered making chaos runes or the money for it, and would be crafted by lvl 75+ runecrafters for double chaos... I know 1 person who'd be a crafter :)

lvl 30+ combat clans post here
I'm afraid that the return of clans that actually reside here on tipit will be limited at best (I can only think of 2 atm)... Generally people use this forum to post their recruitment topic and then leave... Theres only 4 clans that have a memberbase on these forums (instead of RSC), and those are: Militos Deci (combat) P K Masters (Combat, obviously) GUILDS (skill community plus) and mine...

A shortcut to the Kalphites
It IS fast if you use the 1-click-tele of the Tele-shere that brings you back to dorgeshuun... It gets better, if youre fast enough (really requires some skill), you can even do without a lightsource. If you run fast enough youre safe and sound back in the Kalphite Tunnels before the little bugs come out that slowly kill you... This means you can bring, compared to Shantay, TWO extra praypots/tunapotatoes, and have a quick tele close to the KQ shortcut... The only thing that would make it perfect, is a prayer altar in Dorges-Khaan...

Clash between the Titans.
That sounds quite realistic... for runescape then :)

The new Cannon [WARNING: LONG READ]
The hitting would work the same as with ancients.

The new Cannon [WARNING: LONG READ]
Battleships Cannon Cannons are a powerful weapon, and although they have been around runescape in various forms, they've always been kept out of the wilderness because they were too powerful. I think I have found a solution. The Battleships Cannon can be constructed and smithed after talking to Bill Teach (from Cabin Fever), and Nulodion (the dwarf that allows you to use their multicannon). After this the components of the Cannon can be constructed: =The Barrel, requiring 10 steel bars and level 70 smithing. (untradable) =The Wheels, requiring 4 oak logs and level 40 crafting. (untradable) =The Cannon Balls (which you can already make, but these require a different mould, obtainable form Bill Teach). (tradable, stackable) =The Fuse, which is simply the Cleaning Cloth, a cloth woven from 4 balls of wool dipped in Karamja Rum. (tradable, will be made stackable) =The Stopper, fletched from a regular log, you get 5 from each log. (tradable, stackable) =The Gunpowder (tradable, making a vial with 4 doses) requiring lvl 70 herblore and; -Ground up charcoal (untradable once ground up) -Ground up sulphur (obtainable as in Regicide, so untradable) -Some saltpeter, which is made by adding ash to supercompost, and leaving it for a while in your inventory (untradable) Not all these items are required for a complete cannon though. Adding the barrel to the wheels would not complete it, you need to add a rope to it. Then the complete and empty cannon is tradable, and will be dropped if you die, ready to be picked up by the one that killed you, in the same degraded state. Once its put in your inventory, you, much like a different animation with the barrelchest Anchor appear to be dragging the cannon 1 square behind you, so it always shows if you have one. YOU CANNOT RUN with a cannon in your inventory! Your energy will be drained to 0%. Now the best part ofcourse, firing the cannon. Purchase a tradeable ramrod from Bill Teach, you will need it. Step 0: Install the Cannon, making it visable for everyone (much like the Dwarf Multi Cannon, and requires lvl 60 range) Step 1: Use a dose of Gunpowder on the Cannon Step 2: Tap it with the ramrod Step 3: Add a stopper Step 4: Tap it again with the ramrod Step 5: Add the Cannonball or other charge (see below for charges) Step 6: Add the fuse Step 7: Use a tinderbox to light the fuse Step 8: Cannon fires Step 9: Clean the cannon with the ramrod Step 10: Start over at Step 1 This takes about 12 seconds. Note that ANY any green or blue dot on your minimap can do Step 1-4, 6 and 9. Damage: You can only fire the cannon in straight lines (so only eight directions), ignoring all normal obstacles. The Cannonball or other charge (see below) will hit the first yellow, white, green or blue dot that occupies a square they encounter up to a maximum range of about 30 squares away (well beyond what you can see on your minimap, so a scout is usefull here). They proceed to hit a target area behind the first target it encounters, which i've made a pretty picture for: COMING SOON! Basicly once it hits something, the area of effect damage is right behind it, and at the end of its range, it comes down and hits anyways. = The Cannonball (tradable, stackable) hits about as hard as a Crystal Bow in all squares, but I've come up with more charges; = The Sleeping Gasbomb (requiring level 74 herblore to make, with Cave Nightshade and 3 ground Dwellberries, tradable, not stackable) lowers all Attack, Strength, Defense, Magic and Range stats in the affected area by 10%, no damage. = The Poison Cluster (requiring level 72 herblore to make, with 10 Cactus Spines and 2 Poison Ivy Berries in a vial of Karambwan Paste, tradable, not stackable) poisons everyone in the affected area exactly as per p++ poison, no damage. = The Pestilence Swarm (requiring level 65 herblore to make, with 2 Sweetgrubs from the Trouble Brewing minigame, ground Raw Beef and ground Raw Chicken, both from the undead farm northwest of Port Phasmatys, tradable, not stackable) makes everyone diseased (starting at 12) and immediately gets attacked by a Swarm random event. = The Stun Grenade (requiring level 60 herblore to make, with 15 Swamp Paste and 3 Caveslime Soups from the new city of Dorges-Khaan, tradable, not stackable) stuns everyone much like you get stunned while pickpocketing, lasts for 6 seconds. That is the weapon right there for you. Some obvious things ofcourse: It can't fire out of the wilderness, nor from the outside into it, the package will simply dissapear if this happens. You can not defend against this, because you can pretty easily side-step this (so multiple cannon crews for maximum effect). You can line up cannons next to eachother, but not place one on top of the other. One more thing: The Cannon can BACKFIRE, doing the damage to everyone adjacent to it in a 3x3 square. The chance of this happening is 1 in 20. When this happens it degrades 10%. When the cannon is completely degraded it dissapears. Cannons can be repaired in POHs costing 30k per 10% it needs to be repaired. And since it is so incredibly heavy, teleporting with it is out of the question, by any means (even the Ardougne level or Obelisk), it would break down all the way. Opinions please? Support please?

20 March 2007 - Dorgesh-Kaan
Reasons you'll come back to Dorges-Khaan: You can make 1-click teleports that go there. No-noob agility course Finally some good xp on crappy slayer tasks Extremely easy access to the kalphite lair (see an earlier post of mine) Have you tried the caveslime soup yet? :P

Filling Deserted Areas with people
Rellekka is the Fremennik town. One could also use Fairy ring code DKS, walk down the mountain, and enter there. That together with the Miig carts is the fastest way to get to Keldagrim. However, if you have talked to the dwarf ambassador just southwest of the council chambers in Dorges-Khaan, you know that they are preparing some means to travel fast between both cities, perhaps even a 3rd cart track :)

Another sinister plot...
Lucien was a Mahjarrat, but he was one of the many that betrayed Zaros and sides with Zamorak... Btw, are they on top of a place where you need 70 agility to reach?

20 March 2007 - Dorgesh-Kaan
There is onyl 1 oil still as far as i know, and it is at the chemists house in rimmington... The anchor was nerfed last time with a minor strength increase and a big speed decrease.. Once again: Ur-Meg is west of the market behind the wall... To the north of him (still behind the wall) is another yoda look-a-like and he is the bone collector (as well as snail shells and tortoise shells)... Talk to him for access to the market...

Whip and rune defender vs. Anchor
Actually, in the long run, whip is better. In the short run :P you can count the specs effectiveness. Whip has a slightly increased attack that drains run energy. Anchor has DOUBLE the chance to hit, and that hit lowers target's Attack, Defense, Magic or Range level by 10% of the damage you inflicted. That and the fact that you can augment the whip's accuracy with a warrior helm, where for added crush bonus I believe you are stuck to one of the highly valuable waterbirth rings, one which is also available to add more slash attack bonus... So to sum it up: for training, stick to the whip and rune defender, since you can hit more often with only slightly decreased max damage... But for PK-ing or dueling, I'd take the anchor any day, since then your opponents armor is taken into account as well as how quickly you can deal your damage. And with 2 specs where I DOUBLE my chance to hit massivly on you, I doubt even a DDS spec can beat it.

Potentially new skills? Im brain dead....Cant think of any.
How about a maritime skill? Allowing you to navigate your ship through some "wildy" waters, with a ship you and a crew have built together or bought from another shipyard worker. With cannons smithed that work much like those found in Cabin Fever, operated by a crew that would require a level of cooperation that greatly surpasses even that needed in BA. Allowing you to transport people much like thats now done with the charter system, only then operated by players... Making your own pirate vessel, or betetr yet, your own fishing trawler. Canoeing is obsolete, make way for Player Owned Ships!

The bonecollector guy who also collects giant shells is just west of the market, at the end of the hallway

20 March 2007 - Dorgesh-Kaan
Ur-Zek (the head of the market) can be found directly west of the place where all the gourmets wander about... Its behind the wall into one fo 3 small rooms.

20 March 2007 - Dorgesh-Kaan
A whole city full of Yodas.... The cave goblins seem particularly interested in gnome foods, its gotten me a sweet geepee already... Im hoping that the route between Keldagrim and Dorges-Khaan is another rail way. It would increase the traffic to both towns (Jagex must have taken that into consideration). I dont think that this city will die out fast, since it provides a 1-click tele to it (the sphere you make with 2 laws and 1 molten glass), and with the bank nearby it provides easy-ish access to the slayer monsters on steroids as well as the KQ lair. I've tested it, and you can run fast enough into the part where you need a light source and back out again at the KQ end without getting hurt much at all (the bugs that come out in the dark dont hit you right away). All the lightsources you buy already have oil in them so you can buy ready-made bulls-eye lanterns (there goes that market). All in all, its better then Keldagrim or Shilo, better then Lletya even, but its not yet a Yanille...

Price of Flax and Bow String
Tip.it Forum RUles~Tripsis> Warning, this post may cause a slight shift in what drives the continuous influx of gp into the economy: alching yew longbows... Ever tried standing in Seers bank selling your flax? Its next to impossible these days at 100gp each, unless you have 10k or more. But then how often do you find someone buynig 10k of flax all at once... With Manage Thy Kingdom update since Royal Trouble, flax prices shouldve dropped, but they havent. Instead everyone now gets their own flax from their islands and noone just buys anymore, no matter what price you sell it at... Spinning it into bowstrings is not much of an option either, its tedious work, with not much xp per item processed (face it, smelting silver is even faster xp). So people want to get some good geepee in return for all that "effort"... Not going to happen either. People who use bowstrings are those that fletch, and since making your own bowstrings is still both the safest and easiest way to make one of the key ingredients for a Yew Longbow, people often prefer to do just that. Key ingredients for the geepee influx in the RS economy are: Yew log (provided by the many autoers, so easy to buy) Bowstring Nature rune (again easy to buy from shops and from the few people who still manage to outsmart the morons guarding the Zamorak mage outside of edgy)... So what do you guys think? Will the price of flax go down soon? I've already seen it being sold for 90gp each. What about Bowstrings, will they also fall, simply because few people buy it? In the end, flax/bow strings was always one of the easiest ways to make money as even the person fresh out of torturial island can pick something up and hoard it into an ammount to sell then... Personally, I think flax will come down somewhat to match the price that Miscellania charges you (40gp at best, so flax could settle at 75), where as bow strings will take a lot longer to react. As flax costs less, spinning it into bow strings yields more profit, which in turn gives some breathing room to lower the price of the strings, just so you can sell it easier...
