  1. The actual cost of the server rental would be about £50 per month totaling at £600 per year. This is taking into account the total number of servers (they would get discount due to the numbers) and the cost of a dedicated well equip server. The real cost comes from maintenance and startup costs. This is the cost of setting up the server in the first place and ensuring that they are up do date. Lets say the server is already setup and 1% of the full year requires maintenance. Say 4 full days requiring one person paid £20 per hour, £1920 lets add a total call out fee of say £2000. So its £600 + £1920 + £2000 totaling at £4520 per free to play server. Lets round that to £5000 per server. 85*£5000=£425,000 Lets say with F2P content, F2P support and a few other F2P things it comes to £1,000,000. With a 2.2 million from adverts there still making 1.2m from F2P. In effect each F2P server gives jagex £14,117 profit. This give you a rough idea of the how much a F2P server generates.
  2. You have to choose the save for costume option then go to varrock cloths store I believe.
  3. I don't think its possible to get the number of players since the login method change. Speed depends on the server running the extraction, how complex the extraction is and the load on the RS server. viewtopic.php?p=6463721#p6463721
  4. Thanks red_Fat1. By potting I meant boost chefs delight (I've not changed the post accordingly). Looking into it I think it might be much cheaper then I thought.
  5. Hi, Ok I got lucky at the GWD and I not have about 3m to spend on training. My goals are to eventually gain the quest cape, but I've split them down to the following as a short term goal; Complete RfD - only have the monkey left - Best way to train cooking to 70 Defender of Varrock - Hows best to train smithing from 41, hunting from 47 Dealing with Scabaras - How hard is the contact boss battle and hows best to train from 53 to 60? Lunar Diplomacy - Best way to train crafting In short. 1) How hard is the boss battle in Contact? 2) Cooking from 58 to 70 and is boosting from 66 possible? And 58 to 80 (for sharks) 3) Smithing 41 to 54 4) Hunting 47 to 51 5) Thieving 53 to 60 6) Crafting 57 to 61 7) How much is this going to cost? I was thinking 2) Tuna then lobsters at 68. 3) Steel arrow heads 4) Orange salamanders 5) PP? 6) Green vamps
  6. The switch happened with neither of those things. I hit the general he chased me to the mage then switched to a player, no-one in the team had a ZGS or used the spec :ohnoes: . A few things I noticed With your setup your risking the war spear (1m) Never let your health drop below 60 (2 range attacks will wipe you out) Always try and keep your melee stats above 60 when your healing, as too many sara brews can make healing near impossible. If your going to pray at the alter, do it right after the generals died. If you leave it to late you'll be running a lot and risk missing the lure. Granite mace is only 26k, counts as a bandos item and has no quest requirements. The art of killing leechers is very nasty, but funny to watch. Explorer ring 3 is handy if you happen to forget a teleport (you take no damage during the animation and its 1+ prayer bonus) Snake skin boots are not better then rune For prayer I used piety (seems to reduce a lot of the damage and helps a lot with healing from the mage), protect item and protect melee. You should used the tip.it map of the GWD to show where to stand in the boss room as it would have helped me on the first few kills.
  7. I could make love to you right now. After reading this guide I thought I would give it a go. So raised enough money about 2 hours a go and brought guthans and a few supplies. Looking for a team I got lucky a AGS/120+ GS coin share group from RSOF forums was looking for a tank. After learning a few things which I'm sure all tanker know I got into the hang of it and 10 more kills in Bandos Hilt Split between 5. Followed by about 150 to 200k in items. I'll post a screenshot tomorrow. Cut it short your guide just made me over 3.5m within 1h 30m. PS. Have you ever seen the general switch players mid fight? It happened to me/my group just. Its the first time a guy whos been there 5000 kills has seen it happen. PPS. Thanks so much for this guide.
  8. How am I an idiot. Put a pure and a main in lvl 50 wildy with equal amounts of combat exp in there stats and the main will win. Pures are only good if your picking off the weak mains or worse pures. The thing is most mains don't train PvP methods, they don't learn combos, how to time weapon switches, eating and various other PvP techniques. If I was to learn all the methods I'm quietly confident that I could with my current main beat your Evil Offence account. They both have similar amounts of combat exp, but the extra 18 items of food I would have as well as taking less damage, the ability to piety or simply prayer longer, more constant hits and far better armour. If I was to with stand the first 1 minute of combat I would be at a big advantage from the food point of view alone.
  9. Slayers a nice option then. As its a very varied way of training and the rewards are nice.
  10. F2P or P2P? P2P moss giants near brimhaven are nice (quiet, free food and decent drops). F2P SoS.
  11. Thanks for the update for some reason I had it in my head it wasn't out for another month. This is the update I've been waiting for, I might now finally get my HTPC working from the off.
  12. That was completely pointless. Its not a pointless comment. By simply being a pure you limit your characters stats, by limiting the stats you limit the locations, quests, equipment and training methods. If you was to spend the same time you did creating a pure as you did creating a main you would be far more powerful and better versed there the pure.
  13. I would recommend you get atleast 61 range as its much harder to complete without using range.
  14. 3rd part? As in the graves? I didn't have an issue with this. More of the same keeping running and watching the spirits. This was the easiest part for me. Same. All as you have to do is either bless or move when the beast goes to attack. Due to the size of the level/area you can simply run under the beast or side step all but the last bless attack.
  15. For linux http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ ^lots of simple guides and step by steps. For OSX its illegal and I'm not going to go into it.
  16. Swap the book with a granite shield, wealth with anything (seriously it reduces profit by a noticeable amount). I would replace the neitz with a zammy coif. Karils with dhide (only 2 less ranger defense per item, but no repairs). It should give you about 30 more range defense and about the same range attack.
  17. Your not getting what I'm suggesting. Look at it this way, each item in the game is either zammy, sara, guthix (not currently used as far as I'm aware), arma, bandos or neutral (and possibly zaros if you include the ancient staff). As the game progresses more and more items are being classified as being aligned with a god. From the off it does look like a lot of hassle for a few items, but it allows the equipment builder and item database to be more future proof. The ability to quickly see when you've created a setup how you'll do in the GWD would be a great addition. EDIT: New suggestions - copy and paste-able set up url.
  18. It does effect the bar drops. Think of it this way. Odds of getting a addy bar 1 in 4 - common stays the same regardless Odds of getting a rune dagger (this is merely guess work, but you'll get the idea) - w/o RoW 1 in 30 - w RoW 1 in 20. So every 200 kills you should get about 6 or 7 rune daggers without RoW 10. That means for the difference 3 or 4 one of your drops is replaced with the dagger. So you could be losing 3 or 4 bar drops. This happens with all the rare drops they have to replace another items drop ie the more common ones. In short by increasing the rate of the rare drops you decrease the rate of your more common drops. Its like making 4 of the holes bigger in roulette you end up making the others smaller.
  19. But monk robe has 2 more prayer bonus and the unholy has 5 more prayer bonus. The extra 8 range attack from the glory doesn't make up for the 5 prayer loss IMO as it will cost him more in prayer potions. So you'd lose 7 prayer bonus for 8 range attack. PS. not played the how cheap can you get a setup game for a while.
  20. SirHemen, thats a nice cheap setup but replace the holy symbol with unholy then you can have monk robe top.
  21. Not bad but you need 60 prayer to use the necklace. The gloves and boots aren't worth the one prayer bonus its better to use vamps and snake skin. If you replace the holy book with the unholy book and the top/bottoms with monk robe its offensively regardless of area. Do not go into the eyrie area without taking a arma item as they attack with both magic and range (you'll die quick if your not careful) and if you do it costs more due to the lower prayer bonus. If that's your personal setup I would replace the top and bottoms with monk robes (much cheaper), get bandos boots (allows you to wonder north in the bandos/zammy area which is nice and quiet and switch the gloves/ring for with vamps/explorer 3.
  22. Has anyone tried talking to Juna after the quest, as the update mentioned more quests conversations had been added. There is a little table on runewiki with the list of all known Mahjarrat's.
  23. Not sure never used them. You need 2 bedrooms I believe. Not sure never used them. I personally just use a BoB, rings of dueling/glories and house tele (dust and law).
  24. Your joking right?!? Theres been lots of decent updates; Random Events Path Finding Deposit all Seers Achievement Diary Increased log out timer A few quests A minigame And about 100 little tweaks which make the game so much easier No biggies so to speak, but more then enough to enhance the game. Personally give me 20 important small updates over 1 big quest or update any day.
