  1. It is true you can't pot to the mining requirement, even though it says to complete the quest? Construction and Hunting I don't mind training, but mining is so boring (I did Curse of Arrav at 60 as it took me far longer to gain a single level then it did to get 8 brown spices). I love the idea of taking 4 phoenix necklaces as opposed to brewing from the hp-1 hit. That way its 1 click for 30% hp vs 2 clicks for 28hp with the need to restore.
  2. I killed a few last night (20 ish in 2h 30m inc banking) and was not doing too badly, so its possible with 90 att/str and 85 range. Diamond bolts help a lot as it hits through the shield (ideal when for the start and if the shield comes up when its protecting melee) and has a few times finished the TD off as the shield popped up when it had <20hp. animalmagik take a bunyip and replace 5 or so of the super restores with shark/rocktail.

  5. So this means you can just quickly turn it on and off and the monster is cursed but you haven't ruined your prayer points :P? You get a message saying the effects have gone a few seconds after you disable them <_<
  6. Using Row 1 for names/titles A for level and B for exp C2 =((B2)/4+75*2^((B2)/7))-A2 EDIT using B for Exp and A for level looks nicer
  7. They instantly drop the skill of the npc, by x amount. Then every time you see the animation it either reduces that skill or reduces one of the skills at random. I think its either 3 or 5 % per animation depending on if your using leech or sap which according to runewikia and personal experience is about 2 minutes to fully kick in. If you just want to drop a npc's defense use leech as the sap curses randomly reduce any of the related stats which means it takes longer to kick in.
  8. Hi all, I tried TD's a few times and only ever made 1 kill in 3 trips (2 half kills the other times). Last night I fancied a change from the DK's and GWD so I tried again. To my surprise I managed 5 kills my first trip. I did another trip and lasted almost a full hour getting 6 kills (including banking and I didn't take boosting potions, don't ask me why). Now I've been using the south spot which is extremely good as long as you don't step back out of the corner piece. [hide]Lure show in this guide xxxxx[TD] xxxxx[TD] xxxx[][/hide] My current equipment is; void melee/range helm fury void top void bottom snake skin boots void gloves ava's accumulator Wealth/Life SGS/Rune Cbow/Darklight 200 diamond (e) bolts Inventory; 1 ranging potion 1 super attack 1 super strength - opps there was a typo here. 4 sara brews 2 super restores a bunch of uni scrolls house teletabs 6 sharks 3 spaces for SGS/rune cbow, darklight and void melee/range helm sapphire lantern With the rest prayer pots Prayer setup is: Berserker Deflect x Leech defense (the effect is very noticeable after the second animation) Only using leech once I start attacking and only using deflect when any of the blocked ones roar or the TD I'm killing spawns. On the 3rd trip I outlasted 1 uni on supplies, but I never seem to be able to get the kill under 2 shields. 1. Worth swapping the sharks for rocktails? 2. When they spawn I have to use range until they switch to protect range then use darklight right? 3. Sounds stupid but holy water doesn't have the same effect as darklight on TD's does it? 4. Given my magic is higher then my range would it be worthwhile switching range gear for CoG (double defense reduction)? 5. Any other tips and tricks for a TD newbie? Thanks in advance, Joe

  10. But the lvl 3 isn't dropping snape grass, so it has to be going somewhere.
  11. The best levels are 40->52->67/68/69->79->88+ (they all get better once you hit 88) Obby golem hits well for its level as does rock lobster. If you fish a lot rock lobster will not only speed it up, but also make you a nice chunk of money too.
  12. But where does the snape grass go. OrMockHim, I mean stand on the same spot as the level 3 and see if the mid level guy trades you.
  13. I take it you've tried brushing your teeth, flushing and mouth wash right? Sounds like you have an infection in your mouth. Go to the doctors or a dentist.
  14. If you stand on the level 3 player do you get traded?
  15. Without you test it how do you know they don't have melee stats? Primes monster examine max hit is in the 30's however his real max is in the 60's, which means that monster examine is only taking into account a style he doesn't use. IE melee or range. In theory leech/sap defense is the same or better then 10% attack, so you only lose the 10% strength bonus with the new curses. I'll try tanking black demons with sap warrior and see how I go.
  16. For writing the easiest way is to read french. Once you get used reading and speaking french the writing should come easily, as you'll be used to the wording as well as what it should look like. There are some good books on french literacy which will help a ton for your grammar and a good English to French dictionary will have the tenses and gender of the word.
  17. First of all report them both after you've tested them (just a general question like what colour is the sky). I'm not sure if it will work, but you can try wearing all green then standing on one of the snape grass respawns. I'm curious on where the snape grass is going if they both never leave as it would max out at 28 snapes each.
  18. It sounds like its an issue with the copy right protection on the file or windows movie maker not liking the file type. Try another .mp3 file as well as a .wma. My moneys on anti-copyright protection though.
  19. RS updates once every 0.6 seconds I believe. In which case as long as your under 600 you should be fine, however I'd aim for 300 or less.
  20. It would have been a nice reward from the quest having the ability to bypass the gates as it makes it easier for bursters as well as teams. Shame, but maybe its given them the idea to have it as a reward from the next one.
  21. Has anyone tried maging him with ancients or using recoils and vengeance? Since he hits hard recoils, vengeance and deflects should do some nice damage back to him without taking combat turns. And if magic hits hard blood, smoke and shadow spells would help make the fight easier. Plus theres also the Miasmic spells if anyone wants to try them out, reduced attack speed = faster healing and less damage
  22. Are you 100% sure you can't boost to the levels as it says "To Complete" not "Required to start".
  23. All round Elysian, divine is only good if you have a constant prayer source. That topic takes into account 99 prayer, but fails to notice 88 summoning. With a unicorn hp is stackable, there's currently no stackable prayer. So places like DK's where you last as long as your prayer divine drains it like crazy. GWD how ever you have the altars and TD's are arguable due to the ease of banking.
  24. I was wondering the same question about the prayers. I did the quest yesterday (snow day from work ftw) as well as got 80 prayer (for the extra prayer point per dose and the leech defense). I've tested the prayers at a few places and there both impressive and annoying. The worst place for them is DK's (mainly supreme) the moment you use deflect range you start deflecting 90% of the spins attacks this means you run, pause for a milli second do the animation for each attack. Its fine once your next to him, but it makes the run staggered. This happens at sara, but since the the magic attacks are pretty rare (including the mini) you don't stagger much at all. As for the saps and leeches I've only tested a few. Sap mage does improve kill time of npc's as does warrior and ranger. Leech defense is nice for bosses. I had trouble getting a sara team so I ended up joining a 110+ team. It started off 6 man some fell at the first step then others just left so it was me, a 112 and a 113. With deflect mage and leech defense we were killing here about as well as a 3 man 120+ team would have. Two leeches and a deflect drain about the same as piety and a protect. This still leaves the question of general usage for training. I'm trying to work out if -10% > +10% attack and +10% strength too. O and the full effects of sap/leech take a while to kick in.
  25. Divine if you have the gp. I'm currently looking to get an arcane once they drop to the 60m mark as 20+ magic bonus and 3 prayer would be amazing for DK's as well as bursting lobs
