  1. ok thanks. i was thinking the same thing. i'm going to stick with the graphics card i have now. everthing looks great. oh well about anti aliasing. may get it may not. but i'll stick with this card for now. thanks for the help everyone sorry if i was a little grumpy about this. 1 more thing: i would like someone to post a screenie of runescape hd with anti-aliasing on and 1 without anti-aliasing to compare the 2. i'm satisfied with the answers i got and i'll stay with this card for now.
  2. ok. so if i want anti-aliasing i'm going to have to buy a "dedicated graphics card". thanks. all i needed to know i think. as for the 3 types, i tried both sites and active x is blocked or something for those sites and i dont want to hassle with it. i'm sure wherever i go for the card; they can check it and make sure i get a dedicated graphics card that is appropriate for my system. and i'll have them install it. so that solves that problem?
  3. not to be a jerk or anything, but i already said i am playing hd fine. and this isnt a relic. the chipset family thing got better.... anyway i'm just asking about anti-aliasing. what would be the solution to enable that? i read the thread you posted. so what you are saying is i should get a "dedicated graphics card" and have that installed? is that correct? any recommendations? what are the system reqs for those? and who is to say i wont be playing other games. if i'm going to buy a new graphics card i might try some other games as well. -.- and ultimania- what difference would it make? i mean what's the difference between the 3 and what would that say? i'm not going to open up my comp atm. thanks. just asking.
  4. it's not a laptop. it is a desktop. solution?
  5. right so what you're saying is i'd have to install a gaming specific graphics card to get anti-aliasing? is that correct? so i guess my initial assumption was correct?
  6. 1st of all i'm playing the hd runescape; so that's not a problem. i'm just asking about anti aliasing since that feature is incompatible.
  7. just wondered about anti-aliasing. hd is working fine on my comp but anti-aliasing is incompatible. i'm guessing this feature is one of the reason gaming graphic cards are sold. so this feature is available on gaming graphic cards at the shop? or is there some way to enable this with my current setup? thanks for any help.

greed sucks. the politicians have cleared the path for the corporations and others to make their huge profits and suck america dry. cant say people didnt warn you. what do you expect after two bush presidencies. i say people need to stand up and take notice of THE THINGS their government does. but people dont and then they face the consequence of that. also living in a glutenous society driven by personal wants and needs doesnt help the situation. pass the buck. it's what everyone does. more to say but, if you're a realist, manage things how they are. and i dont read the off-topic forum usually because people post outrageous things just to get a reaction and i have other reasons. Comparing a BAD situation with another bad situation doesnt help things. both are bad situations. Try to focus on solutions. america is fed spoonful after spoonful of bull feces that postures itself as "news". america isnt alone in that. basically you have a situation and a society that does not look outside its own personal self-interests and does not take the time or make the effort to question the actions or motives of those in power. /post ;)
  9. i want to check out the creeping fog in morytania. i'll also check out the star plane. cosmic altar might look even cooler. i dont really know what to expect. i'll put on my bear head and see if that looks any different. i expect there will probably be multiple bugs but that's fine. doesnt bother me, they'll fix them. i suspect jagex has not told us everything. so i suspect there will be surprises. we'll see anyway. looking forward to it and i'll be checking out all the areas.
  10. bumping this old guide for the people that havent seen it. you could argue that mining clay isnt worthy of your time but you'd be surprised. the bracelet of clay does half the work for you. you will mine soft clay; how cool is that? also good for training crafting at the guild. i'm wonderign if jagex will ever make a use for pot lids besides their use in quests. in the meantime, soft clay is best used for teletablets. :
  11. i realise there is some travel involved but this is really free money for the taking. and i like the idea of combining it with kingdom of miscellania but not everyone has done that quest. you will always make a profit with these. these items are in high demand and cost you very little compared to what you can sell for. bumping the guide for those people that havent seen it.
  12. bumping this old guide for those that havent seen it.
  13. i went in and didnt get hit by the cave crawler except the poison with protect from melee. but if protect from range eliminates the poison damage AND all damage then that's what should be done and i changed the guide to reflect that. this guide is done. the methods all work. i didnt write the guide for people to complain. If you want to kill all the bosses in one trip then take all the equipment you will need for that 1 trip. but if you need to bank, that's fine too. I hope people make good use of the guide. : FIN
  14. Thanks for the reply. I'm not saying you cant beat them all without banking. I'm saying I recommend banking and it's not hard to do if you have a bunch of slayer rings; Or your house is in Pollnivneach. Most players would benefit from banking at least a couple times and this guide is written for the majority of players. Do whatever suits you best. I personally had to bank a couple times since i went in with minimal preparation. The idea is to bring everything you're going to need and then some.
  15. Ok. That makes sense. Protect from range on the Cave Crawler boss. I need confirmation that you wont get hit for damage by melee attacks if you protect from range. The poison was easy to deal with; but that makes sense to me.
  16. Updated the guide. Added pics and I made some changes so that, hopefully, it's easier to read.
  17. If you like to live dangerously, dont read or follow this miniguide or open the different sections; go in with whatever you think will work. After completing the quest Smoking Kills, in order to gain access to all the training areas in the new dungeon in Pollnivneach, you must defeat 4 slayer dungeon bosses, besides the 1 in the quest. You can only fight 1 boss at a time. Each boss has their own respective area; separate from the other bosses. For each boss you will need the required slayer lvl. Kurask requires lvl 70 slayer. Turoth lvl 55 slayer. Basilisk lvl 40 slayer. Cave Crawler lvl 10 slayer. These bosses are not to be underestimated! I recommend banking if you need to restock your supplies. :) Use the Slayer ring to teleport to Pollnivneach if you have it; If not just use the Magic carpet or if your house is in Pollnivneach use the Home teleport spell. Enter the well in the CENTER of Pollnivneach. Be sure to wear a combined muffs/face mask or Slayer helm. In the corners of the dungeon are barriers to pass. After passing the barriers, climb down the stairs for each particular section. There are 4 bosses besides the 1 in the quest. The 4 bosses are: Kurask boss Northwest section Cave Crawler boss Northeast section Turoth boss Southwest section Basilisk boss Southeast section This dungeon requires that you wear a COMBINED face mask and ear muffs; Due to the dust and since the Banshees are aggressive and in the middle. The four bosses and methods to defeat them: Kurask boss-[hide=][no pic] The Kurask boss is not that hard. Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Use protect from melee. Use a Leaf Bladed Spear or Broad arrows or Slayer staff and Magic dart. I'm not sure if you can use Broad-tipped bolts or Leaf blade sword. I used a Leaf Bladed Spear and Piety and had no problems at all. Take good food just in case and an extra prayer potion. Have full prayer points going in. Wear good armour. Pot up with str atk and def if you want. This boss will summon other Kurasks but if you have protect from melee on you wont get hit. Kill the boss and you're done; you dont have to defeat the ones it summons. Take a 1 click teleport just in case. Summation: Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Protect from melee. Use a leaf bladed spear. Take an extra prayer pot just in case. For all the bosses; take food, a 1 click teleport just in case, as well as use good armour and weapons. These are Slayer monsters, dont forget that, so take the correct Slayer gear.[/hide] Cave Crawler boss- [hide=] This 1 is interesting. It will poison you regardless of whether you drink an antipoison or not. Use protect from range. Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Take 1 or 2 antipoisons and drink them during the battle but mainly drink 1 for after the battle. Focus on killing it. Protect from range. Use decent armour and weapons. Use the piety prayer if you have it. Pot up with str atk and def if you want. Summation: Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Protect from range. Use good weapons and armour. Take a prayer pot or 2. Take 2 antipoison but mainly for after the battle. Take good food just in case. Take a 1 click teleport just in case.[/hide] Turoth boss- [hide=] Same as the Kurask it will summon others. Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Use protect from melee and Leaf Bladed Spear and Piety, if you have it, or atk and str prayers. You can also use Slayer dart or broad arrows; not sure about broad bolts or Leaf Blade Sword. Pot up with str atk and def if you want. Summation: Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Protect from melee. Use the leaf bladed spear or slayer dart or broad arrows. Take a prayer pot or two. Dont worry about the 1s it summons just kill the boss. Take 1 click teleport just in case.[/hide] Basilisk boss- [hide=] Wear a slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. This is the boss I had the most trouble with because I didnt know what to take besides the mirror shield. Protect from mage! Its mage attacks will reduce your stats even if you have protect from mage on; but you wont get hit for damage if you have protect from mage on. Take a restore pot or 2. Your stats will get reduced as you battle the boss. Pot up with str atk and def if you want. Take a prayer pot and an extra 1 just in case. Take good food just in case. Wear good armour. Summation: Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. Protect from mage. Equip a mirror shield. Take a super restore potion or two. Take a prayer pot or two. Restore your stats halfway through battle. Use piety if you can. Protect from mage at all times. Take a 1 click teleport just in case.[/hide] After defeating these bosses you can now train freely in these areas if you bring the required slayer gear. Wear a Slayer helm or the combined muffs and facemask. I recommend the Slayer helm. Dont attempt to fight the Abberant Spectres without a Slayer helm. The Abberant Spectres in this dungeon are non-aggressive btw. :P If you have a Slayer ring this is a very convienent spot for Basilisks, Kurasks, Turoth, Cave Crawlers, Banshees, and Aberrant Spectres. The Banshees here drop level 3 clue scrolls btw. I dont know about the others' drops. You can learn to make the slayer helm by completing so many Slayer tasks as a reward. Right click the Slayer master to see the rewards you can earn. Credits: Thanks to pienaple for the pics.
  18. it's worth it. the black mask was ALWAYS worth it and more so. this update to the black mask and the new dungeon are fine additions to the game and if you train slayer that is the helmet you should wear. period. i'll add, the other things you can learn are also well worth it. and i do recommend, if you can, killing the cave horrors for your black mask because it's a reasonably rare drop but you will get it; it's about as common as rune boots from nechryael. maybe a little more uncommon but not that far from that rate.
  19. he says ask any skiller. i dont think all "skillers" are going to have the same response. i dont put people into categories based on their total level. i do get annoyed when a very high lvl lacks the herblore lvl for making sara brews; if they're expecting me to pick up their slack, it's not going to happen. and in the past, for other potions. i think this stems from the pures/stakers that drop traded from their mains and that form of cheating/unfair gameplay left a bad taste in ppl's mouths. as for your stats threadstarter you have good stats so i dont know what the problem would be? and whatever the problem is it's not with you, it's on the part of people that are probably jealous of your combat abilities but who knows and i wouldnt let it bother you.
  20. i suggest you go back and beat the quest. those things happen they've happened to me more than a few times. i used to think you were just some rich dude but i have noticed you're an ok guy. hang in there. those lvls you got werent easy to get and you'll get over that and get much more than that.
  21. i'd say try the cockroaches in the dungeon south of edgeville which is west of varrock there are 3 different sizes of cockroach; kill the 1's that are lvl 8. or there's lots of training spots in the stronghold of security in barbarian village. you probably should post these kind of questions in the help & advice forum.
  22. with construction all you need is a good way to make money in between the times you train it. with summoning you can actually make money training it. by collecting the monster drops, besides charms, you will actually make money with summoning by training combat for charms. training construction is all about spending money. with summoning, the drops you get will more than pay for the shards; so basically it's a huge reward for those that train combat. i recommend you collect your own 2nds when reasonable and either train slayer or train at your favourite training spot for charms. use the spirit kyatt at lvl 57 summoning and use the tipit calculator to map your progress.
  23. o/t but i think it'd be cool if the "world map", the one that's on the site, were made a sphere that you could rotate but that would limit the map's future development. but it would be neat to see anyway. as for actually remapping runescape and putting things in other places, they've done that with the party room so it'll be done if they want to, but tbh things are well spread out and i like how the map is now. for those people that have problems getting around i recommend doing fairy tale part II, the fairy rings are the way i get around now for the most part and they really open the map up bigtime once you start using them and learning the codes. as well, doing quests and their rewards, really helps your ability to travel in runescape.
  24. so if i write out a question and at the end put "discuss" that makes it a discussion. cool. for those people looking to make a lot of freinds and be social there's tons of people here at tip that are so, hang with them i guess. im a high lvl that cant stand most other high lvls. i mean really bad. so if i see someone training in void armour with a saradomin sword and a prayer cape i'm going to change worlds. that btw is what the high lvl unpleasant ppl wear now. for the most part this is 99.9% accurate. the tactics people have to aggravate you while you train are: [hide=]they train next to you while you train, when there is more than sufficient space for them not to. they get their drops then wait or change armour or something else that's annoying, until you've killed the 1 you're fighting then they attack the 1 next to you. so you have to span the map just to find 1 to kill everytime. that gets annoying. this used to be the situation at abyssal demons around the time whips were 4.6 or something. certain spots in rs remind me of that type of situation. i refuse to train with these players. these are the same people btw that stand around and train in edge bank. making comments like, "i'm bored" "me too". really what they're saying is: i need to find someone to annoy so i wont be bored. or i wish jagex would update so we could have something to complain about.[/hide] the answer is: i'll train with anyone that is respectful of my "personal space" when training. as for friend list, its usually turned off; i have no shortage of people wanting me to add them but tbh runescape is kind of a thing i do that is for relaxing and when i turn messages on its not relaxing. for better or worse, i try to find spots where i'm not going to have to answer a million questions. though, i have nothing against people that ask questions, in fact that's 1 of the best things about runescape meeting new players and helping people out, just sometimes i want to for example smelt steel bars or whatever and not have to type etc. fremmenik area would be nicer if everytime i smelted there, there wasnt someone there asking for help with the quest. there literally is someone there asking for help with the quest most anytime i'm there. which for me takes away from what i want to do there. anyway... so i tend to avoid training smithing there; there's your cause and effect. so i'm not the most social player but i'm also not a unpleasant player if i find a situation is unpleasant i change worlds simple as that and i do try to help people if they ask for help. so, maybe that's part of the reason why. i tend to appreciate those that put effort into things, so, those are the type of people i associate with or at least tolerate. i dont care for cheats or merchants. merchants are just a blemish now; unneeded due to the ge being there; so if they persist in merchanting they do more negative then positive for the game and i dont care for that at all. and cheats are people that i dont care for either. -.- on my other character i tend to be more social. so, there's another angle on that.
  25. why dont you get on with being a fansite instead of nitpicking and trying to tell jagex how to do their job? i know there's reasonable arguments for these kind of topics, but it's been beat to death. really sick of this kind of attitude on the part of players. my belief is a portion of runescape, no matter what their total lvl, just wants "free stuff plz". make things easier etc. that's why it makes more sense for the developers to create content instead of the players; because the players have obvious biases. i think jagex does a good job adding content for ALL players and that is something that wouldnt happen if the control freaks had their way. the never satisfied and always [bleep]ing about something crap is [bleep]ing old. give it a damn rest. the content IS there but too many people want things handed to them and something to [bleep] about. no matter what they add to the game, to skills, etc. the same jackasses will still [bleep] and complain and try to tell the developers how to do their job. shut the hell up and appreciate the fact that you arent in charge and your opinion is just 1 of many; as are your interests, and there is a whole; and other people and those interests can and should supercede your control interests. had to say this because it needed to be said. i doubt anyone will take what i said to heart; though they should, it applies and its unfortunate how many people are self-centered and think everything revolves around them and their interests.
