desparate people for sure. i cant blame someone out of work and trying to make money to survive but i do blame the people that start up the shops who no doubt do minimal work and pay cheap wages while gaining a dishonest living which is probably more lucrative then many. as for cheating in runescape. it's a closed chapter pretty much for the gold companies. just an occasional dummy that will buy a program to bot and get banned or someone that will give their account details and lose their account or be banned for sharing accounts. not very significant. the merchanting of rs gold is dead. not even worth a eulogy really. and no jagex wont be making it easier for them in the future so maybe other gaming companies will take note. as for this conversation; just reminds me of a telemarketer/salesperson just trying to make a sale. will tell you want to hear. i wouldnt believe anything they said; it's probably all bunk. and they put the offer up there just in case someone might buy it. but i doubt it could be delivered and the account would most likely be banned so $1000? wasted. god who would be stupid enough to pay $1000 for that anyway. totally ridiculous and if you ask me i think these topics should be locked immediately. any discussion about real world trading. and the poor kids trying to buy membership pins from these scum and the scum is using stolen credit cards for their bots and probably the pins; just makes me mad and then they get banned. using stolen credit cards is criminal and should be punished but hard to prosecute if their government doesnt cooperate. i think we should all appreciate what jagex has done to eliminate rwt and prevent mass scamming and real world criminal activity involving money exchanged for gold etc. in runescape. the shops will just move onto other games as they already have. jagex has made it more difficult for these companies to operate in rs and more difficult for the small fish to scam also. so end the chapter. close the book. time to get on with producing game content and less policing.

i agree villandra's all 99's and a pure slayer account is impressive, more a display of her love of the slayer skill. of course 1 billion xp is ... also pretty amazing. another top player halw gnun is set to achieve 200 M xp in herblore. i think besides the actual training needed for the achievement the stick to it nivness is what is impressive to me. to have a goal like that and follow through with it is what impresses me. but everyone that plays the game plays their own way and treating people well and having fun doing what you like doing and trying all things is all good. and any achievement someone sets out to get and achieves is a worthy achivement.

"this is just silly, this does nothing to improve the way I play the game." yeah and unsubscribing is going to make that much better. duh. i'm a veteran, and did i mention i'm a veteran. lot of rambling; no real point to your message lime and no surprise that your post doesnt get locked even though it belongs in the leaving/taking a break sticky. just another self-important player that if they cant have things their way they threaten to quit. as if runescape hasnt changed at all since you started playing and you've made use of those changes but refuse to adjust to these? your choice but they made these changes for the better of the game and they will still be updating the game. i doubt you'll stay unsubscribed. a whole $5 it's just so much money isnt it? god what a load of garbage you are trying to sell. and to think they made you a mod. just have to love all the drama threads. :-X

yeah i know some people will misunderstand why i wrote this. the thing is i do like runescape and most of its players. i'm simply ranting about certain things that annoy me. i'm not saying i focus my time on these things a lot. i dont. i avoid things i dislike in the game. i'd rather spend time on things i do like. these are just some things that have been around in the game from day 1 and i dont expect them to go away anytime soon and i still enjoy runescape immensely. and yeah some people like to have fun in the game and that's why i play the game but some people have "fun" in ways that annoy other people there's those type of people that find it "fun" to put a damper on other people's fun. it's those type of people i dont like. as for 120's dancing outside a bank, its usually all about look at me i'm special and those people are usually totally rude so maybe i'm biased against them. sue me. the fact is runescape is getting much better. about the people that dont know how to make money it's because THEY NEVER TRIED! had to be said. dont tell me there's not a million ways to make more money than you could ever need in runescape. there is and the people that try find that out. but then some people just want it to be a glorified chat where other people get their supplies. i dont like those people and nothing you tell me would convince me otherwise. i support fair pay to those that do get certain supplies but in the back of my mind i'd rather see them train their own skills then supply others. but whatever they like doing; that's their choice and making money when just starting out may be what needs to be done in some cases before doing things for themselves. something i do like is creativity and providing a good service and that's good to see people work cooperatively ingame to those ends. anyway like i said things have improved a lot; and it's not really about doom and gloom; runescape is a great game and there's lots of fine people in the game, so that isnt a problem at all and the game is just getting better and better.

no i dont dislike most people at all. i was very specific with who i dislike. :D forum mods rarely actually do their job or dont do it good enough in my opinion when the recent updates forum and future updates forum is filled with rants. and they leave up things they personally agree with often even if it is against the rules and i've seen it OVER AND OVER AGAIN. so dont think i dont know what i'm talking about! i'm ranting about what i dislike. the points i'm making arent up for debate! as for who i like in game, i like most people. read it again if you dont see who it is i dislike. i guess i should add another pet peeve. people that misinterpret things you say to your disadvantage. in other words they frame your own words and argument in their own way as if to convince you that your argument is not valid, when what is truly not valid is their framing of your argument! been there done that, yeah they're still looking for wmd. etc.

I had to edit my last rant because jagex actually got rid of some of the things that got on my nerves. predictions for 2008 and beyond: these are some things some ppl will be saying when summoning comes out, which will be totally ignorant and lame of them. "it's too expensive" "it's boring" "there's no point in leveling it" "it's all for the noobs" "pokescape" "i'd level it if it had a point" reason they give these excuses is LAZINESS! some of these people would rather stand in banks admiring themselves and buying stuff and then leveling it while in the bank. hate those people. but guess what they'll really want to level it because it gives combat levels so that is going to be interesting. :twisted: a skillers skill which levels combat. hopefully jagex doesnt water it down too much/make it easier for these complainers. and of course they'll be wrong and it will be a useful and beneficial skill to level. but it wouldnt be runescape if these people didnt rush to a negative judgement for every update; giving jagex no credit or thanks at all. A pet peeve is a term used to describe an annoyance you have with something. My list of Runescape related pet peeves: people who put down f2p players. people that take advantage of new players or poor players. people that treat other people badly. people that threaten to quit. people that act like jagex should check with them before they make an update to the game. player mods most of them i dislike personally but if they can do some good; good for them i guess. spammers- people that stand in banks and use auto typers or just repeat the same thing over and over. lock happy and robotic like forum mods or player mods that act like they're all that. people that stand in banks in their own square in expensive stuff alching or just standing in popular banks for long periods of time. i cant stand that. if they need to skill they should go to a bank with less people. otherwise they're just taking up space; i cant stand those people. and i know ppl disagree with that but i dont care, i dont like people that stand around in popular banks and there are a lot of reasons i dont like them! people that follow each other (dance) outside edge bank. especially if they're over lvl 120. scammers, liars, bug abusers, cheats, account thieves. people that try to annoy you by moving in on your training spot. medium high lvls, like lvl 90 in skills, that want things to be easier for them to get 99. people that buy skills and dont know how to make/earn money in the game. people that always complain about new updates. people that arent willing to help other people when it would be no trouble for them. price manipulators and poor high lvl combat noobs that dont know how to make money. people that say, "buying all x". laziness and ignorance. that mage has crap "armour". that range is super cheap. that melee can wear dragon hides and not lose atk abilities. all random events. that run energy doesnt gain at a normal rate while smithing or charging orbs. when doing quests people ask questions about it while you're in the middle of talking to an npc you cant click out of. have to say i'm thrilled that many of the cheats cant cheat anymore in the ways they did before and i hope some people that were a bad influence on the game are gone now. i'd add more but i dont feel like arguing a lot here; just say that some of the people, once the cheating was taken away, dont have much reason to still play, so, that's an ADDED BONUS! O:) if you want to argue go to another thread. these points arent up for debate. if you want to add your own dislikes or annoyances with some types of people in the game or the game itself go ahead.

good guide from what i've seen. i'd like to make a suggestion though. for people with slower pc's, it would be good to have a guide without having to load all the pictures. so, for that version of the guide you could just put the pictures' url and some text to describe the link (picture). another thing is you could include more options for the assignments like for "birds", "ghosts", dogs, monkeys, goblins, etc. would be good to list special drops or especially useful drops. like lvl 3 clues. funny how the lesser demons pic is so old. and i like gargoyle tasks because i like doing treasure trails average like 5-6 lvl 3 clues per assignment and they dont hit me much and i hit them easy. very nice work on the guide and i was especially impressed with your inclusion of multitasking while training slayer.

there's all kinds of possible outcomes from a situation like that. most of them are unpleasant. consider this, there are all kinds of charges that can be filed when someone kills or assaults someone. you cant expect the cops or the judge to believe your side of the story or consider your version of the circumstances. as well as that there are other participants that could testify against you or cut a deal, making you out to be the aggressor etc. all participants at the shooting could be charged with the same crime. you may find that the public defender or your lawyer has other cases and cutting a deal with the district attorney may be what they want to do so you get screwed. there's a reason so many young people end up dead or incarcerated. something like the main number of people in prison commited their crime between the ages of 18-25. so if you can make it that long your chances of comitting murder or being murdered are greatly reduced. anyway i hope this was a wake-up call for you. you dont want to end up spending years behind bars because of the people you chose to associate with.

no fame isnt something i'd strive for. i figure famous people have characteristics that are admired or a personality that draws people to them. i admire people like that but i am far too reserved to accept any kind of huge acolaides (sp) or be iconised. i talk to people on their level and on their terms and make people comfortable talking to me; if i dont know something, i ask or research it. i dont carry airs and i treat everyone exactly the same. :D unless they give me reason to treat them differently; meaning treat them with genorousity or the other extreme put them on my ignore list. i often feel that to some players that is a let down. how they think i should act would be a certain way to certain people, but that is definately not the way i handle things. sometimes i'll read rsof story forum or goals and achievements forum and find people that are interesting to me or the compliments forum. it's the people that make me smile by what they say or make me laugh by the story they wrote or whatever; those are the people to me that i admire in runescape; also, i see myself in new players just starting out and that makes me happy too. this was a refreshing topic compared to all the heaviness of what people have been talking about so much lately.

it's a great update for people that play the game; not so much for people that leech off people that play the game; and if it were up to me, i'd give the people that persist in threatening to quit and trying to drag down others a helping hand; a stat wipe, bank wipe, and a referral to games that they can exploit/play; not this one. =D>

from the knowledge base: It is possible for a clan to be taking part in multiple and simultaneous clan wars on different worlds. that's pretty cool isnt it? my question would be once you've entered the portal do you have to be in clan chat to remain or can you exit the clan chat and still fight for the clan. and if you did exit the chat and remain couldnt the 100 limit be increased further?

for f2p i think theres still a demand for herblore 2nds on the exchange. yews are selling for a lot. raw lobster i think is still a fair price. big bones probably still sell well. those are some ideas off the top of my head. you may want to sell strength potions or food at bounty hunter or duel arena.

yeah i guess. still it's kind of weird that it drops coins. that could add up if someone killed a ton of ppl in bounty hunter with anchors right? since coins are stackable. and i think there should be tougher limits on the higher runes in bounty hunter also. also shouldnt alching be not allowed/prevented in bounty hunter?

in bounty hunter people get drops worth more than 3k. gravestones arent used. it's similar to the way pking was before. except you're skulled entering. and some other differences. so if people play bounty hunter with anchor and die does the victor get the coins as drop still or what? and what about gnome amulet? keris? spears poisoned with karambwan paste? blessed axe, excalibur, wolfbane, darklight, silverlight, bonesack, ram skull helm, bearhead, defenders, varrock armour, ghostly armour, and any other non-tradeables. no reward for pker but can use and wear. a new kind of pure quest pure?

yeah i bought the 5 minute one, i might as well get the full benefit, 500k isnt much to me. i was just thinking does the anchor still drop coins? wouldnt that have an impact on rwt? and do the better gravestones work on f2p and would they continue to work on f2p if someone became non-member?

in the past jagex have made changes like with the anchor price, first people to buy them were fortunate with the price being lower than after they changed it. with more content to be added in the future a 1 time fee of a benefit of a gravestone lasting a longer time seems like not a bad deal. could this be changed in the future? yes it could but would the price just go up rather then them limiting for example the best headstone to 15 uses; i dont know if they'll change it to that or just raise the price. a 1 time fee of 500k for the the continuing benefits doesnt seem like much. so is it a good idea to buy the headstones now rather than wait for the price to be increased? i think so.

i'm sure you'll figure out a way to gain xp. what the grand exchange did to herblore was like what poh altars did to prayer. herblore is still a great skill you have to admit.

this is the last time i'm going post on this topic. in rsc you could transfer items; in rs now you cant. that's a big difference, something you failed to address. as well, in rsc those chars were mainly used for lazy trainers to pk and transfer goods. if you're saying people would rather play a botted character than their main, without being able to transfer items, i just dont see how that makes much sense. consider that most people in rsc that used bots also had mains and transferred items. i dont see people being that desperate. you bot 3 characters and can play on them with a strong chance of being banned on 1 if not all. so you can do what?

no i understand what you're saying people will still bot until their accounts are banned; but the point behind botting will cease to exist. there will be no transfer of items to another character. really, get past your personal feelings and look at the situation honestly.

you can try to convince account buyers of that. i dont buy it. face it jagex has shut rwt down on rs and for it to continue on runescape it would require people to adopt these characters with no interaction between their mains. why would they stay on botting rs or selling bots? just to be a pain. their profiting motive is gone, cant make much profit now. in some ways the criminals need the cops and the cops need the criminals. the fact is cheaters profits are reduced significantly if they stay with runescape. were they to move on to another game; its easier for them to do what they've been doing. water seeks the path of least resistance. even if they find a justification that explains away their true motives they will still choose and convince others to relocate their shops to another game simple as that. dont be naive.
