  1. yes i'm sure ixfd, after jagex release the summoning skill I'm sure that will drive everyone away. not. and i like how you used the term another when there hasnt even been a drop. just love how people only see what they want to see.
  2. it is just you. if you look at the date, the 9th is sunday, that's a weekend day obviously. the other days you show are weekdays. and for your edit? does this really deserve four pages of discussion. there hasnt been much change has there. look at the numbers yourself. :P
  3. posting communications between jagex and players is between jagex and the player. i dont know for a fact that what's been posted is true or not. it wouldnt be hard to alter something like that. at the same time how is the player supposed to transfer their items to their new character anyway? again it's between jagex and the player and i dont think should be up for discussion really.
  4. last weekend there was 250k people playing at the same time. i've never seen that many at one time. free to play has been given new life. they have THREE new minigames. if you havent checked out clan wars, you should, it's a blast. 8-) and i love when free to play gets updates. they seem to appreciate it so much more. the times you are tracking the people online makes no real sense. there hasnt been a significant drop in number of ppl online, it's the same numbers of people pretty much so i dont see the point your making. what you're trying to present just isnt happening. sure there's people upset and quitting but not very significant numbers of people. i think you've already got a preconcieved conclusion without examining the actual data and you're trying to meet your conclusion regardless of what is and isnt taking place.
  5. i think you give too many people a free pass. it's not these types of people that are causing the main problems on the rsof. it's the people that just like to stir up trouble for whatever reason. they dont care about runescape, they like being an annoyance to others.
  6. if they're smart the rwt will switch to another game. rs isnt going to be very profitable for them. there will still be the jerks that will try to sow as much disharmony and dissension as possible. they just cant move on it seems. its those people i cant stand. no jagex has sent the bots packing they're moving on and i predict with them a lot of their backers so that's fine with me. and all the doomy gloomy people can adapt or move on i really hope they move on. and really im tired of discussing them. they really dont deserve much more than a second thought.
  7. i'm put off by your title. anyway, for 1 i'd rather see people crafting their own runes through the abyss then not. once pure ess supplies start drying up, whenever that is, for some it will be yesterday... that will cut into the profit and supply of player crafted runes. some people dont like leveling runecraft because the xp can be very slow even at higher lvls. i suspect there will continue to be a large market for player made runes but what you describe happening could only last so long before the pure essence supply runs low so idk. less tweaking>tweaking as a rule. i like the abyss the way it was before, i like its location and convenience and everything about abyss runecrafting. that's been my preferred method of runecrafting since it was released. were they to come in and do some tweaking i would hope it would at least be entertaining and not just an annoyance. :) but i'm glad its not my job to make those decisions. of course people want profit but as high lvl mage and runecrafter i can craft 2k astral runes for myself in a short time teleporting to moonclan and running to astral altar. i could make double the xp per run using teleport to ourania and teleport back to moonclan. so there's other methods, cosmic crafting is actually pretty good for mid lvl runecrafters and useful for training mage. i cant see anyone seriously crafting deaths using any other method than the abyss. another consideration is when blood and soul is released, these higher lvl runes will be produced more than nature i'd think for those that can craft them up until perhaps 91 rc, so that's another factor. i think it's hard to say right now not knowing what content is in the works and what jagex is planning. i mean they may want the pure ess supply to be near depleted for that to stabilise other parts of their game. either way, they've already stated they intend for the reward of the abyss to be dangerous and if it isnt currently, havent checked myself, then you can expect that to change so that it is. :)
  8. meili makes a good point and i thought of this earlier. why train your char when you can have a bot train it for you. what does that remind you of? strange thing though is they might exchange the player for the items on them but that i believe can be easily tracked by jagex and... is really just asking to be irl scammed. so not so much of a problem. them taking out the means to transfer items is huge! and pointless if the character people buy is just banned. i'd like to declare rwt dead. move onto to another game rw traders. and i think jagex has really put the fight to the bots this time. they have that experience dealing with them and they know what they need to get the job done and they've done it. so people buy the program to train their chars? maybe, but again, much smaller scale then what's been going on with a high risk of being banned anyway. and the big thing remains no item transfers.
  9. first of all you are entitled to your opinions about what the game is to you and how you play and what you want to see in the game stay etc. there's some things about these updates i'm not thrilled about, and yes i'm grieving those things as well, as well as getting used to or adjusting to the huge changes, i still havent completely. but, overall, i believe these changes are in the best interests of the game for the long term and it was necessary that these changes were made. i've played since 2003 and i did play rsc and i still log in to rsc sometimes. i'm not pessimistic about these changes i think they're good for the game. i am sad to see people react so badly and i wish they wouldnt but that's who they are and it doesnt really reflect on what jagex is doing imo. jagex is doing what they need to do and as for what to expect in the future, like i said, i think jagex knows pvp is a popular thing and i think they will continue to add features for pvp and new content in the future, so i'm not worried about that. jagex has been criticised repeatedly by some people, unfairly and unjustly imo, with their petty gripes and petty attitudes. i see these changes as necessary given the circumstances and they lay the groundwork for future content. yes it is sad to see such huge changes to the game and i know jagex is aware of how this does affect players and i believe jagex when they say they are planning future content that will be excellent. so be pessimistic if you want, but that's your choice. and i hope you do stick around if you're going to do more than point the finger at jagex. and i'm with you really. i'm hoping for the best of course and i am in the process of "digesting" these changes to the game and really i dont know what the outcome will be but i'd like to think that there is room for optimism and that the game will be even better. could i be wrong? i could be. things change. hopefully changes can be good if we give them a chance and they'll keep updating and hopefully more for the good then bad. and jagex has said they are open to suggestions so take them up on that if you have something you think would be good for the game.
  10. edit actually editor 2 is not that bad... but please dont link to editor 1, qeltar's site... an emergency issue oh how appropriate with a sad little face  wonderful work jagex. now we can move the game forward without real world traders and various cheats. and i'm sure jagex has in mind a ton of pvp updates and new content on the horizon. FOR THE never do well's and the perrenial MALCONTENTS, it's like so what you have a [bleep], if it wasnt about this it'd be about something else, do us all a favour and take the whining somewhere else. and dont even bother coming back just leave, i dont want to hear about how jagex did this and jagex did that and all your fuss. just go. \ rock on jagex. i'm loving these updates and i look forward to all the new content in 2008! minus many cheats and bots.
  11. wow your stats have improved a lot. might as well get 70 strength. higher prayer and magic and range if you want. the rc is good. con not bad. thieving getting up there. i'd say get 99 thieving and train slayer. may want to boost some hunter lvls and use the throne of miscellania for tree seeds for farming. as for the bank could use some cleaning. nice quest points and it does help to do the quests as i'm sure you've found out. i'd say do what you like doing but if i were you i'd train slayer and clean the bank. :) 8.5/10 stats 8/10 bank :anxious:
  12. i think most skillers are pleased with the prices contrary to what you said. um buying skills just got that much cheaper... and some skills prices dont change much because alching amounts are already set. there are some skills that are good for moneymaking and others that are better money sinks, it takes some skill to determine which is which and what to train, the materials to buy and the materials to get yourself etc. that takes knowledge and application to know how to manage your time best to accomplish what you set out to. it's a mixed bag. cheaper materials and most skillers dont skill for money really. but if they want they can and there's tons of money to be made skilling depending on which skill and the materials needed. i dont separate combat from non-combat. i use all my skills for what i do and i can tell you i have more than enough money and i now have a few skills banked to 99 and i cant stop the floodgate of money coming in; it's just a matter of pretty much everything i do creates money; though that is not the goal, but it doesnt hurt. if anything i'd say the markets have been freed up to buyers and sellers and what's been taken away is the waste of time standing around trying to buy or sell or bumping buying selling threads on a market forum.
  13. the simple technique is to not gut the sturgeon until you have a full inventory of sturgeon. and use the roe for bait while dropping your fish offcuts then picking up and gutting the 1's that arent sturgeon and repeating. barb fishing is pretty cool so it's not that hard a task if you like doing it. i use the shortcut to grand tree. i think it would be good if it gave an extra dose per pot you made with caviar, would be extra incentive for the higher potions and amounts you may have. and i think roe should be used for more of the potions rather than most of them requiring caviar. but it's a useful update and better to have than not. i havent used them with potions that i have huge numbers of but mostly with the ones that i have few of or a medium amount of and i still like to have sets of 4 doses. allowing to combine mixes into 4 doses would make sense i'd think.
  14. there was a team of people out to confuse others by wearing green capes and attacking team members then running out and calling out tipit names when they were attacked. got my name called out, was attacked and piled by several "tip ons" in green capes, this happened after/because i was defending a team member being attacked by a non-team member wearing a green cape. that part wasnt cool but it was good to see so many people show up from tip.
  15. could it be a rooster? and would be interesting? if there were references from chinese astrology in the skill. or could it be a phoenix or griffin or a karamthulhu in a fishbowl?
  16. yeah. you're right. or they could just trade items for over the cap. but if they were only tradeable on the grand exchange then that would be possible and the simplest solution for that. unless they already had plans to limit and put restrictions and caps on the amount of gp or [overall value] (based on the ge's worth of the items), for personal trading. but im not gonna get into the argument.. on what will please the most people; because no matter what you do you cant please everyone.
  17. give them a smile or a sense of how much they mean to you as a friend in the game but seriously... strength potions are cheap and useful in f2p, you could get a lot for 500k or some regular rune essence, same thing and a strength amulet (t) or mage amulet (t) is pretty good item for f2p and not sure on price but less than 500k as far as i know. if you're thinking runes; i'd say laws or nature would be good choices.
  18. the possibility of future updates requiring higher lvls for additional content is 1 possiblity; for the others: Overall - for rank Attack Defence Strength Hitpoints Ranged - for the above [attack-ranged]; argueably all useful. Prayer - it's useful. Magic - it's totally useful. Cooking - again useful Woodcutting - for training when browsing or social thing. Fletching - easy to browse other sites and lvl at the same time and for some profit and mage xp Fishing - for food Firemaking - mostly rank and total Crafting -some ppl like it? Smithing - really for the challenge involved Mining - challenge and for the ore Herblore - challenge and its useful and for profit Agility - its useful. Thieving - fun and useful. Slayer - for training and gp and drops. Farming - for herblore mainly. Runecraft - for money and runes of course. Hunter - for money mainly. Construction - goes up to 99 but for cape, for total and for completion. but to each his own, spend your time doing what you enjoy.
  19. there are valid points made by both sides in the dc items argument. what's troubling is that both sides dont take into account the valid arguments made by the other. my solution for dc items is to put a cap on them. a max price they can be sold for; that should end all debate and make everyone happy. but i still think these items are over hyped and overpriced and taking away the investment aspect would be reasonable while these items still would keep their 'value'. as for conspiracy theories on the grand exchange over dc items i think that's far fetched but we're just getting started on the conspiracy theories i think. if something goes wrong for some people, they'll blame it on anything but themselves.
  20. wrong answer llamster. runescape doesnt need to change itself to meet the lowered bar of the masses. as for the real answer. it's just an ignorant comment from a mentality similar to nike shoes are better then reebok. doesnt mean a damn thing. says more about the person putting down then it says anything about runescape. as for runescape's success, if you think its easy competing with huge corporations that own other corporations that can provide advertising, news articles, and competitive priority from shops; it just shows how great the game is in spite of all that, to be as popular as it is and you can bet that jagex has had offers for buyout from these huge companies basically to remove them as competition; they havent been bought out and remain, the corporate/government/powers that be usually make offers you cant refuse because its dog eat dog. some people like a challenge and dont want to complete a game in a day or few days and runescape has a certain style that does appeal to people and why should they change to just make another game that can be completed in a few days or where mediocrity can be achieved after a short while. in runescape, the fun is in the journey, learning a trade, completing quests, learning to make money, getting better armour, etc. again, it says more about the person criticising runescape then it does about you or the game. runescape is going strong and changes made to it recently like clan chat and the grand exchange show that. and yeah they probably tried it, got called a noob, tried mining and woodcut, then gave up because they're quitters and rationalise that its the game that's the problem and not them. but we know they just wanted the advantages of being high lvled 3 days to a week in. and it's their loss really. i could go on but i've generally covered most of the points i wanted to make.
  21. there's still tons of ways to make money in runescape. and with the ge that also opens up markets for you to sell easily. not only that, while the prices of the items you sell are less than what they used to be, most items are also lower-priced. so it balances out. if you dont use items, then you lose and you're not really playing the game the way it was intended. i'm not saying the gx is perfect the way it is now, there could be some changes, if anything jagex needs clear well stated suggestions and fewer rantings. everyone is selling their surplus. that's creating a huge supply on the gx and lower prices; this will change when the market has sold off the huge supply. at least the way the gx works, the supplies are going to people that use them and not to merchants that would just re-sell at a profit. as well the .05 thing i worry about if everyone buys and sells at lowest price. i've personally made tons of money from selling many of my hi-lvl potions and keeping enough for me, but it makes sense to sell them when i had more than i really could just use for myself. and with that, i've bought tons of supplies i will use for training things like smithing and magic etc. so, i really like the idea of rewarding the person that actually mined the iron ore by buying directly from them through the ge, it gives a small amount of satisfaction. :) even jagex's worst critics agree that the gx is a good idea, the concept and many of its abilities, so for them i suggest, if they have a problem with any of it, clearly state the things you think could be improved, and check with yourself to see if its purely you that would benefit or if it's everyone, if it's just you then that's not the best solution, but if it's an improvement for most players then make the proposal to them on 1 of the stickys or in suggestions forum on rsof.
  22. not the godsword but the sword. is this a good weapon? how fast does it hit? advantages? disadvantages? have you used 1?
  23. which teletabs are the best to make and sell? which 1's are most popular?
  24. again this belongs in the rants forum qeltar. why not check out the rants forum? everything you say is always negative, what a downer. and the insults towards jagex are really unfounded, they're trying to improve the game and make it better and they're doing a good job and i know you'll come up with some excuse to make yourself look good. dont bother. people would like you a lot more if you werent so slanted towards focusing on negative things and ignoring all the positive but again i dont think you'll listen to reason, you'll just go off on another tangent so why even bother addressing you. i think you need a check up from the neck up. =;
  25. mine some pure ess to 60 and craft at zmi altar it's super fast, use the safe path. do that to 44 then craft natures for some cash. for combat i'd say train range at fire giants or do slayer, use bone bolts they're cheap and hit hard. you know you can change tasks at burthrope? make a lot of games necklaces for that, when you do lunar diplomacy you can npc contact, which is even faster. i say your goal now should be quest cape and get the reqs for the quests. pretty nice con lvl, use it to your advantage. when you can, get defence to 70 and strength to 70. thieving is easy and fun. train at ham and do lvl 1 clues or dorgeshun goblins or relekka citizens. when you can, do fremminik trials and kingdom of miscellania, it's worth it. get 60 mining for guild just to be cool. fishing lvls fast, you can read forum with sound on while you fish. either fish salmon and trout with feathers, cave eel and slimy eel with bait or do the barbarian training and use the shortcut for gnome stronghold or the deposit box at barbarian assault. for power cooking, cook your trout, then your salmon in rouge's den. when bored, train your woodcut at barb assault willows and deposit the willows in the deposit box. the lady that sells seeds in draynor square now stocks an infinite supply and that's easy to train farming with, also if you raise your thieving, you'll be able to pickpocket the master farmer at lvl 43. those are some ideas. but i really think you'd be surprised how much of an advantage you get from doing all the quests in the game so go for it.
