  1. $1.50 for a coke?? Where I live most machines used to sell them for $0.80, and now they are up to $1.00. I'm sure they're probably cheaper somewhere else in the world. Where do you live? Anyway I've bought cokes for a buck before. Even less if you buy a 30 can pack. It's just the nature of the business - vending machines are there for your conveniance - not cheap prices.

Microorganisms. And some macro ones too... like spiders. :ohnoes:
  3. I'm not sure I totally get what you're saying, but I'll say it keeps going at it's current velocity untill a force acts on it...
  4. That's exactly what happens. I studied apollo 13 for a project and indeed, they never have thrusters on all the time. Just for take off, set down (in the case of the lunar module, which was never used in it's proper capacity in the apollo 13 mission for obvious reasons [if you're familiar with it]) and minor course adjustments.
  5. Not a laughing matter, buddy.
  6. A vaccum is the absence of matter. Interestingly (not 100% on this) space is not a total vaccum. Apparantly there's something in the order of one molecule per meter cubed. Not much, but it shows that nature indeed does abhor a vaccum i.e. it always wants to fill it with whats avaliable (which in deep space isn't much, I'm sure you'd appreciate). As for what holds planets apart? I couldn't tell you.
  7. There is some. Stress on some... We really haven't got our act into gear in this country politically. If I were running the show, there'd be nuclear power plants dotted aroud the place powering populations and desalination plants. There'd also be at least one major water recycling plant in every major city which first used it's water to prevent drinking water being used to cool power plants and then added the excess to dams or directly into supply. I wouldn't give a flying [bleep] what people think about me. Such selfish backpatting egotistical votegrabbers some politicians are... Anyway the situation is dire, to be blunt. One person I can thank somewhat is the Queensland Premier, Peter Beattie, for scrubbing a likely emotion based vote for recycled water in Brisbane and going ahead with the project anyway. That's the way politics should be. Cut the crap and get things done. I just wish more descisions were like that. We'll get through it, though. If we didn't, it would be a joke, considering how resourceful us Aussies are. :P
  8. I'd like to think that there's something we are all destined to do in life but I'd hardly see a needle addiction at 16 and prostitution at 17 a worthy destiny or plan for anyone (and no, this isn't the story of my life, it's a hypothetical which has probably happened many times over in one form or another). It's not the kind of thing you can directly test or label as fact so I'm not going to assume it's the truth, yet I'm not going to just reject it forever because it isn't provable. I'd like to think that I will be doing a certain something that I dream of doing one day... It's a bit of a reassurance but I can't let it be some sort of safety web. I have to work hard to get where I want to be and everyone should remember that for thier own dreams in life.
  9. Depends if you land behind where you started. :P
  10. QUT Me too! I'm doing a Bachelor of Science undergraduate, first year. \
  11. Show us your link! :) I'm not doubting you but I'd be interested to hear the reasoning in laymans if possible (physics is not my forte).
  12. Have you been inside my head? o_0 In other words, those were more or less my thoughts. The plane would probably need air movement under the wings and the scenario you posed (topic starter) seems to leave the air around the system rather stagnant relative to the aircraft. Anyway is there supposed to be an answer and if so what is it? (apologies for not reading through the entire thread).
  13. Woah. How do they come to that conclusion if they don't make an observation? A condensed version would do. :D :P
  14. That's a joke, right? :wall: :P Anyway being a cop would be pretty cool although not for me. Anyone watch the show 'cops'? Way cool. 8-) =P~ Nothing like that happens over here in Australia though Warri0r, you need to head over to the states in particular California to see the good stuff! :P True. Hence why it's so entertaining. :P
  15. :x I feel for you.. losing a USB. What a pointless theft. Where are you studying by the way?

  17. I thought that time wasn't a dimension, physicists just use it like it is one in their explanations to make it easier to understand. Basically, we think of time as another dimension when we try to understand things like General Relativity, but it really isn't a dimension on it's own. Though, I just vaguely remember hearing that somewhere, so if anyone could provide evidence for or against that I'd be grateful :-w . Time is a non-spacial dimension, as far as I can tell, but it is one of the four (time, x,y,z). I'm no expert on why, though.
  18. $1.50 by the stupid vending machine this morning!!! lol. I found a cheaper place to buy a coke and forked out an additional $1.30 so getting a coke cost me $2.80. A little less than you guys, but it happened this morning so :P .
  19. Hey that's pretty interesting. :) What's the movie about?
  20. Awesome I live in brissy too been here for the past 4 years  Better than Adelaide? :P MUCH BETTER lol :XD: Cool. Haha. :P

  22. Brisbane, Australia. Lived here all my life. Can't complain (except I wish it would rain more often).
  23. Haha, you're such an arrogant idiot it's untrue. If you think you could play nearly every song after four months of drumming then you've clearly never been near a drum kit in your life. You attack everyone who makes any claims to anything, yet then go and make ridiculous claims yourself. I'm getting the impression that you got nothing, so you attack others and pretend to be someone. But as i've told you before, if you can't be reasonable and add something of value to a thread clear off, and don't even try me with any smart-arse responses. Gah, this goes back to the post about forces? I WAS RIGHT ABOUT IT. I was just correcting him. What if I made a post saying that the Queen of England was a man? it's an incorrect statement, just like that post. As someone who knows that she is not a man, is it not your duty to correct a less-intelligent person? Warrior and I cleared this topic over a week ago and he was right. That is why I quit arguing, because he was right. Now you, a mod, comes on here starting a week old argument up again. You come on here and tell me that if I cant add something useful, then I can step off. Well guess what? I [bleep] STEPPED OFF OVER A WEEK AGO YOU INCOMPETENT RAT. I request that this be locked. Assassin apparently isn't mature enough to let an argument just go Dude, we were arguing? What about? Heh, I must have a pretty ordinary memory. Either that or it wasn't that important. Overall I think you should take a back step as this is an internet forum and it dosen't mean anything. I can understand you wanting to promote the reduction of false posting but in the overall scheme of things, it's not really going to do much (I've learnt from a few threads on a particular topic that I've made which basically changed no ones opinions however wrong or ill informed they were/are).
  24. Thanks for the reccomendations. :D
  25. You forgot songwriting ability. Writing a unique song and breaking the boundaries isn't exactly something you can learn. Granted, most music listeners (which thankfully includes very few tipiters :) ) these days will listen to and buy any typecast crap put in front of thier noses. :wall:
