I'm 23 was 17 when I started.

I've never been a big fan of proprietary systems and wish more people would use Email and IRC more often. I like Skype because of it's end to end encryption and p2p network, but without people to talk to there's little point in installing it. Plus it's not open source. I also like the FaceBook chat feature (it's just convenient) but the client (web based) sucks. Again no open source (I wish they would add Jabber support to it.) Over all I prefer platforms that allow cross communication between users on different networks (Email, Phones, Jabber), and allow you to move your address/handle/number when you switch provider (Email, Phones) EDIT: I mostly use my phone and email because I know allot of people who don't use IM.

Are we losing this battle or holding ground? I came in late so im not sure. 0.4% ink :wall: I think ill save up my ink so I can put it to better use than simply erasing 1 line every 5 mins.

Australia is a [bleep]ing lazy country! People don't do anything here, its constant public holidays I can go to a nightclub any night of the week and find it packed because people only have to work 2-3 days a week and the few of us who do work pay them for it with welfare. Most Australian's especially uni students deserve a good [wagon] kicking. instead of being aloud to lay about and leech of the rest of us. I believe we are fat because half of us do nothing.

I wouldn't give my girlfriend any passwords, I doubt she would even ask since she doesn't need them just as I don't need hers.

I wouldn't normally criticise because overall these forums are run well and provide a good service but it is frustrating to see people not do proper backups the fact that it's possible for the backup to be deleted shows that it wasn't done properly. Ive lost site's in the past due to asshats and wouldn't wish it on anyone but the extra bandwidth required to download the backup from the server is well worth it, especially if the data is worth thousands of dollars.

Not keeping regular backups! who would have thought this could ever happen? :roll: TIF really was asking for it, keeping backups is a no brainer especially with this type of software. No one deserves to lose data but anyone with half a clue about computers knows that dataloss happens. That being said it could be worse I've seen people lose years of data in the past.

Id be upset if I lost my avatar I've been using the same one since 2002 It now has sentimental value.

That's what happens when people don't keep backups. I lose count of how many times Ive seen this happen because people dont backups their database or expect the service provider to do it for them. I do find it intresting that scientology was written by a sci-fi author, I wonder how long it will be untill people start trying to use "The Force".

That is exactly what I do! I also host videos made by some of my users for FREE and don't even so much as place a watermark on their videos because it is wrong to modify another persons work for profit especially when they provide it for free. Youtube should be grateful that people provide them with free content and have the decency not to modify it. Tracking cookies? I hate to break it to you but when you visit a website you leave an ip address behind its impossible to connect to a website without that site seeing you IP address so your making an invalid argument about the tracking. As for viruses I can implant one into a web page advertisements do not increase the risk of viruses as any web page can potentially house one. Disabling scripts can help with security but it also means allot of sites won't work properly and as useful as scripts are I've never been a big fan of client side scripting and try to keep their use to a minimum in fact a site I'm building at the moment has no scripts at all!

Why are people saying you CANT overdose on cannabis? Ive seen people smoke themselfs into mindless zombies to the point they cant even talk. Thats excess consumption and ALL drugs can be taken in excess. At the end of the day a name is just a name regardless of whether you call it an overdose or excess.

It destroys the brain its called dope for a good reason and apart from their being medical evidence to support this you can just travel on public transport for a day with the potheads and see the zombie effect for yourself. Unlike other drugs it's users are in a state of denial, I cant blame them because If I smoked it I would rather belive what I WANT to belive than know the truth but Ive seen to much to be able to bring myself to even sit in the same room if I smell it im out of there.

can't really find anything funny about calling suicide hotline... Suicide Hotline, [word beginning with s] hotline, in a three way call. Get it now? No Hiding your number does nothing he can just report you to the cops all he needs is to give them the time and date that you called. Some people can see hidden phone numbers on there caller ID anyway so sometimes they can just call you right back.
