  1. They can easily do that it's just a case of sending a letter requesting several thousand dollars and proceeding with the case againsed anyone who doesn't settle out of court. It's common practice (RIAA anyone). We really need to turn on YouTube here they are the one's who gave out information to begin with, Im not in the United States so I won't have a problem with this but there are still allot of people who face possible financial ruin over this, the video is incorrect people who "just watch" will still be fair game for these lawsuits.
  2. How do the University know about the offense if he doesn't have a crimminal record?
  3. Switch, Just dump Virgin they really are a [cabbage]ty company. Users must NOT tolorate crap from their ISPs, if you do then your helping set the trend for future generations.
  4. In Australia we have consumer protection laws that prohibit the type of activity you get in the UK
  5. The problem with ISPs is that you have a limited choice. If you wish to distribute illegal content you can find many providers that exist outside the jurisdiction of the country who's laws your trying to break and host the content from there. But when you try to access content yourself you are limited to the providers in your area, if they are all against you then your screwed.
  6. In the United States website owners are not liable for content uploaded by their users, but they must respond to DMCA complaints within a "resonable timeframe". So I don't think google need worry. I would be more concerned about this. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technol ... t-han.html That's the problem with Google and the only thing I don't like about them is the way they retain data.
  7. Nice work guys last time i checked it the logo was totally trashed. I'm trying to fix the "I" I'll admit im not doing very well. Some one has written on the "I" in red while ive been there.
  8. What we really need is a law that prevents media companies from having any involvement in communications.
  9. I think it's perfectly fair, If your using 2 seats you should pay for them. You need to be VERY obese in order to not fit in an airline seat, sure there not as big as your armchair at home but a normal person should fit with room to spare. Ill admit I love fast food this thread has got me longing for a big mac (A topic on obesity makes me think of McDonalds! what does tell that you?) but it dosen't mean I have to eat one everytime I feel like it. Im always hungry, it's natural but I also know the cost (both financial and health) of eating a dozen big macs per day so I simply don't do it. People who do feel hungry all the time and go along with it are the ones who end up obese, It also comes down to what you choose to eat not just the quantity.
  10. They are throttling your bandwidth the way it works is you pay for the bandwidth and they don't deliver. It's fraud but unless you have consumer protection laws to prevent it there's nothing you can do except change ISP.
  11. Stickdeath.com Newgrounds.com What else was there to do in school. it was around 1997 that I started using the internet.
  12. I think the question is "SHOULD you do it yourself?" I don't mean to be rude, but questions like Don't give me allot of confidence.
  13. The problem is people with big SUV's and pick-ups who use them as a daily driver for one person only. Especially the petrol SUV's; if you want an SUV get a diesel at least. Fuel ecconomy, even with a big engine like a 4.2l, will put you on top of most petrol cars on the road at current. my commodore gets around 550Kms for 70 liters of petrol so it's not ideal for all cars. I'm a truck driver and some of the trucks I drive have similar fuel consumtion to my commodore about 80 liters per 500kms+ which is infact better given the size and weight diffrence.

    Do I dare? yes,
  15. I'm so sick of people talking about "Families" what about me and everyone else who can't even afford themselves let alone a family. People who have families aren't doing it that bad not with all the family benefits they get. It's people like me and most of the people I know who can't pay bills and I don't think any of them would even consider starting a family until their finance improves despite being married or engaged. I also get sick of all the rich people on tv, I remember this one [wagon] saying something like "I think high petrol prices are a good thing because it reduces usage" this is some guy earning $100k per year, I'll reduce my fuel consumption as soon as someone hands me half a million dollars to build a house closer to work hell if they relocate my girlfriend at the same time maybe I'll drop my fuel consumption even lower possibly below 60liters per week (currently 120liters per week). Even more stupid are people who suggest I buy another car, sure I'd love to buy another car spending $32k on a more fuel efficient car when I can't afford to put fuel in the one I've already got, that would make allot of sense. One of the things I hate about Australia is that it's run by the rich for the rich who have no trouble buying that new hybrid vehicle or paying the congestion charge into the city. (we don't have one but London does and it's to reduce carbon emissions) while the rest of us just want to get through the week.

    The bible

I prefer to think of it as the cancer of modern society. And how is that? Because you can provide a laughing emoticon? Well won. We don't have a cure for cancer we have treatments but no absolute cure. We don't have a cure for religion but we have a treatment I like to call "Common Sense"
  17. Thats odd, I never have such problems with torrents I've never seen a virus in an illegal torrent ever (and I download ALLOT both legal and otherwise). In fact if any version is going to contain malware it's the legal version. (Google "Sony rootkit") It may depend on the torrent site you use, I prefer ThePirateBay as my first choice they have good trackers in place.
  18. Science is the pursuit of knowledge and religion rejects science.
  19. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... -God'.html Thoughts, opinions? Personally I'm not surprised by this result, people with higher IQ's are more likley to obtain knowledge than someone of lower IQ.

    The bible

While the author of the bible is unknown I'm sure they would die from amusment if they could see how diehard the fanbase is. I wish people would worship some of the garbage I write. \
  22. My thoughts can be summed up with one emoticon.
  23. You need to open .torrent files with a program such as uTorrent, which will then allow you to download the content you are after. .torrent files contain instructions that uTorrent will follow in order to download content.
  24. Use WPA not WEP. WPA used with a good long random string will be extremely secure. I also wouldn't bother with MAC address filtering if they can break your encryption they can certainly bypass the filter. For passwords I recommend these. https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm They look scary but if you copy one into a .TXT file on a thumb drive or CD you can easily have a super secure WiFi without having to remember a complex password.
