Because they're working to make the game the best that they think they can. The majority of players didn't feel the RS2 graphical overhaul necessary, but it's worked to bring in more business. Which means more staff and more people to make the totally awesome updates you seem to think the graphics team would be doing otherwise. I've been playing since '01, so I do so hope that counts. I would hate for you to disregard my post due to my combat level (and skill total! Oh boy!) I may not get "it", but I don't see what my combat level in some arbitrary game has to do with my knowledge of how a business should act. You yourself have made a good example of how the two aren't linked. Hint: It's not by taking the foremost voted for options of a poll and churning out content to comply. They don't do graphical updates that often at all, and I can almost guarantee that the graphics staff only work on it when they aren't doing other, more important content (I really doubt they'd have succeeded so far as a business if otherwise). I'm guessing it's because the only reason, really, to go above level 96 (or, more recently, 93) is for the achievement of 99. Note that there's only two 97s, who most likely only got that level after the cape update.

But why would someone who can efficiently mine coal, mine 2000 tin for a relatively small reward? Unless they just set the optimal training method for your level, I doubt they'd really take off. Anyway, this should be in suggestions.

Nevermind, figured it out. Neat quest, that was. New equipment sucks a bit, though.

To fix the claw, you pick up the crane schematics (froma crate beside the crane), make an elemental bar, and smith it with the schematics in your inventory. Then use the claw on the crane. Nooby question: I've fixed everything, know how to work the machine, but what do I need to make the helmet?

Stick the key in the floor hatches, go down, go down again, operate the machine. I've just got some ore, about to give it a smelt.

Sounds like a very good month, some changes that will actually have an effect on how we play (as opposed to, say, a bunch of new quests and a minigame that nobody really plays).

I don't mind the new run button (just have to get used to clicking the different button), but I'm pretty annoyed at the weight thing. It doesn't take up too much space, and having to bring up the big, clunky screen just to check it is a nuisance. Apart from that, I definitely like the new interface. Especially being able to get a close-up of your character (although some 360 rotation would be nice). Bravo, Jagex.

Yeah, I have a few of each. VERY uncommon though. Unidentified Toadflax can be easily obtained from the Pest Control herb packs.

Scimitar I would always say wrong, despite knowing the proper pronounciation. Makes it easier for me for whatever reason. Glough I pronounced 'gloff'. Nice to know I was only a vowel off, I guess. And Yanille - Yan-ill. Which I think I'll stick with. The eel thing just adds arbitrary length. Screw that.

I love my black beret, got it from a treasure trail. I usually just wear that, sometimes with an obsidian cape. I used to, though, go with gray robe upper and lower, purple boots and gloves, purple cape and a beserker helm. The colours went really well together.

Hows about [] Obtained a rune defender Damn hard. I've used up about 1500 tokens and only have bronze. As for the list, let's just say nothing much.

Taking on the queen in Swan Song. The guide mentioned something about draining prayer. Figured it just meant 10 or so points. Turns out, it drains it to 0. Couldn't drink pots fast enough (and didn't think about eating in the rush) to pray for more than a few seconds before my prayer was drained again. Needless to say, I died. Didn't lose much of worth bar my obsidian shield (which the cape protects over...).
