Why would Runescape be running so slow on...
Because you already concluded you have no spyware, you have no virus', you claim to be playing on a T3 line (which I very much doubt) and concluded on your own that it must be a network issue. You got the vague replys because you asked a vague question. There are hundreds if not thousands of factors that could lead to RS being slow. Dieing hardware, bad java install, bad routing, crappy signal strength over the line, RS servers having issues. We could go on and on. We are not mind readers. We do not magically know what is wrong. Claiming you have a T3 pipe tells me you are either wasting money on a line you can't use (since you don't know how to troubleshoot something simple like RS) or you're pulling it out of thin air to look cool. If you ask a vague question, you will get a vague answer.

Same virus keeps on popping up.
It most likely was still running during removal and replaced itself. Reboot your computer and hold F8 before the windows loading screen appears. Select one of the safe mode options from the list that appears (any will do), log into the admin account that will be displayed and run your virus and spyware scans from there. It should be able to completely remove it now. To post the hijackthis log just copy and paste the text from the log into your forum post. Putting it in

New Windows Update killed my computer
The exact error is more helpful than 'something to the effect of'. I can only find 1 article via Google that matches that, and has to do with a Flash player update. Don't know if it has anything to do with your issue because of lack of info. :? Offtopic: Your signature is somewhat incorrect. The dynamic image signatures (assuming that's what you're prodding with the bold) are still legal. The websites providing them just have to use an 'update me' type button instead of automatically updating. :P

Signature rules need adjustment
The fact it was said by someone that committed hate crimes doesn't change the meaning of the words quoted. People can read into it and say "Oh but it means you should murder people that don't agree with you", turning it into complete nonsense just like you can read into the suggestive anime signatures. If the quote was said by some uplifting philosopher it would have never been touched (and I bet you can find just that on these boards). The quote has a lot more to do with life than just what the guy that said it did with his time. All this makes me want to add it to my sig after this thread dies off, just to see how long it takes someone to have a genuine reason to report it. I'd bet money it would make it well past a week if I waited long enough. There are more important things for people to worry about than a quote that means absolutely nothing bad when the authors name isn't attached to it. People need to get a life and stop worrying about names in history that no longer effects them.

putting music into a blog using html
Anyone embedding music in a web page (ala myspace) should be banned from the internet for life (or at least until they turn 18). It's annoying as all hell. This being a help site, a quick google search would have told you how to do this.

wireless internet help
...is worthless information. There are literally thousands of routers and wireless cards out there. Each has it's own set of drivers, controls and settings. We can't help fix something when you just give us information that includes every piece of wireless hardware on the planet.

no hard copy of windows
No. Like I said in my last reply to this, contact the manufacturer, tell them you need to reinstall windows and that you don't have any restore discs for it. They will more than likely send you a set for free. Shunning the simplest method of fixing this isn't going to get you very far.

Signature rules need adjustment
Wow. If we're going to start removing quotes like that its time to start removing all the half dressed anime sigs too. Should probably remove my smiley face sig too because of the things it could be used to imply...

Loads of Ideas for TIF
1) You can just ask said person when they will be on. Much easier than wasting time trying to program something that will guess. 2) As said already, it's blacklisted. 3) Otherwise known as a CashMOD. This has been shot down multiple times in multiple different forums due to its utter uselessness. Do a search on this forum and you'll find the replys. 4) All forum issues are brought up in the board and polled on if needed. What use would there be for a forum specific poll aside from the same random junk people are already posting? 5) Like everyone else has said, just put it in your signature. No need for another custom profile option few people will actually use.

The new censors
Oh come on. If you're so uptight about a joke once a year, you should probably just lock yourself in a closet for the rest of your life. It's one joke, for one day. I guess there will always be someone with no sense of humor that has to complain. :?

Rs is only loading ..
^ That was a rather worthless reply. It most likely works earlier in the day because there are fewer players online, resulting in less processing to display those characters and other activity. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do to improve a machine that old, so you'll either have to put up with it, or find yourself a newer machine to use. :(

Switching to Linux
AlienWare is a rip off. Plain and simple. You are paying for a name and maybe a service plan for parts that more than likely won't fail until after said service plan expires. You could probably tack on a few hundred more for the injection molded case too. I've since lost the wishlist and the specific AlienWare model, but someone else here in the T&C forum had brought up AlienWare as a possible vendor to buy a new machine from. So I picked a machine off AlienWare's website, matched it down to the exact same hardware model numbers, and shaved something like $2500 off the listed price AlienWare wanted. Even after paying the local neighborhood geek to spec it out and put it together, you're still saving a ton of money. Paying the AlienWare premium for the same parts you can get from any other vendor for much, much cheaper is a waste all around.

Google
Yes it is a big deal. The UK version of Google (and every other localized version) returns country specific domains first. If you are using google.co.uk, you will get .co.uk websites over US based sites because it assumes that is what you are looking for. A US search for parliament, returns Wikipedia first, followed by a bunch of other unrelated websites. The UK search for parliament returns parliament.uk along with many other British government coverage that the US version didn't touch because it assumes you are looking for British parliament news.

a handful of suggestions
That makes me laugh. If your idea is popular, where are all the supporters and why aren't they replying to his thread? Show me that and I'll believe it's popular. Untill then, stop thinking you're somehow more important than the numerous other threads suggesting these exact same things that got the exact same answers. A post in the wrong forum is at the very bottom of a mods to do list. There are much, much more important things to be taken care of before a thread is moved. I'd absolutely love to see you try to run a forum this size, serving the same age group, and have enough mature mods (working FOR FREE) to move wrong topic posts in under a half hour 24 hours a day. Judging by the way you're replying to this thread, that would never happen under your watch. The world does not revolve around Europe or you. The forum as a whole takes precedence over your opinion and suggestions. Albosky's reply already repeated what has been said at least once a week around here for who knows how long.

Switching to Linux
Are you saying you use this machine for your internet/work/ect? The rest of the thread made it sound like he was forcing you to change your machine to Linux. :? 6000 Canadian dollars = 5179.11 U.S. dollars (courtesy Google). Still way more than the sub $2k USD I could build it for today. Unfortunately, my 1.8ghz Athlon64 3200, gig of ram and 6800GS does exactly the same thing and I only payed $600 to build it 2 years ago.

Switching to Linux
It is after buying it from AlienWare. That isn't even a "CAD" computer. Something serious about CAD wouldn't have been bought from AlienWare and wouldn't be using a gamer mobo and video card. If your room mate is stupid enough to spend $6k on a computer you can build by hand for less than $2k, he's stupid enough to get himself infected too. There is no reason for you to be forced into switching OSes because he says so. It's your computer. He can go secure his own machine and not worry about what yours is doing. As long as his is secure, there is nothing for him to worry about. I'd be telling him in a not so nice way to go back to his hole and worry about his own machine. :?

no hard copy of windows
It's the OEM you bought the laptop from that should be cursed this time, not Microsoft. It is the distributor's job to give you the CD. Call/email whichever company you bought the laptop from and ask them for a re-installation CD. Most of them will send them out for free. HP did for my laptop after a simple support email asking for one and I've had people with Dells get the same thing.

Sig Limit
Two words: Jpeg Compression. Taking your huge PNG, resaving it as a JPG at 90% compression, drops it to 23kb. 95% is 30kb. People need to learn to use the tools at hand before complaining about size limits.

Please set a minimum font size?
So don't use it. Take the lead and reduce strain on the server by looking at it locally in a text editor. This is why I suggested you copy and paste the text elsewhere to enlarge it. You seem to like bringing up server usage when it has very minimal impact on the system as a whole. People using the quote button to read tiny text will be a very, very small percentage of the overall use of the system. Stop bothering the admins over piddly little things you can fix on your own with tools that come with the freaking OS. Copy and paste to a text editor. Problem solved, on every system. End of story.

Google
You're correct in thinking it will have no effect. Google uses geo-ip software to pull up location by IP address, which is why you're being redirected to the UK site. The addresss you're using is mis-classified as being in the UK. :? Redialing or resetting your cable/dsl modem should get you a new IP and hopefully fix your problem.

Use the button you found in Add/Remove programs. It's there for a reason.
