that led zeppelin one is called how the west was won. its really good. iron maiden- i think i've seen that one, have they made more than one? the one i saw was amazing, and kinda like a magic show/concert

i can't respect any band that *complains* about the government.... that being said, i DO enjoy some of thier music. however, they are far from the punk rock gods that most pop punk fans make them out to be

they are becoming more and more popular, and i can see why. its the best part of going to the concert without having to deal with all those people. granted i love going to concerts, but its nice to be able to watch whatever bands you want whenever you want.. here is what i have. Rush In Rio - this concert is just mind-blowing. i have watched the entire thing over and over again and each time i am more and more amazed by this band. Something Corporate Live at the Ventura - if there were a mathematical formula for what an alternative rock concert should be like, this is it. from Hurricane to Punk Rock Princess, there is not a misplaced song in the concert. Yellowcard Beyond Ocean Avenue - meh, its sub par, the vocalist isnt very good live, but the drummer and violinist are pretty cool to watch. AC/DC Live at Donington - do i really need to explain this? im pretty sure everyone already knows ACDC is awesome Led Zeppelin How The West Was Won - see above^ Guns N Roses Use Your Illusion 2 Live in Tokyo - it was a spanish import so the menu and box are entirely in spanish... still if you can stand axl's voice, the concert is pretty good, but its only half of it. basically what im looking for is comments on these, and suggestions on what to get next. right now im looking at getting metallica's s&m, alkaline trio's live concert, and reel big fish's live concert.

i do like the music videos occasionally but normally i prefer just watching live performances

i have rush in rio and watching yyz and thier other "soloish" stuff like 2112 just blows your mind. everyone in that band has enough talent to feed all the starving kids in africa

i dont know about that... godsmack isnt much like bleeding through at all.. godsmack is way more mainstream.... more like rock than metal. but totally. The Zoo is an amazing song, one of my favorites. have you heard thier new album? unbreakable, well its not really that new i guess

the only reason i use launch is because as i have sbc(at&t whatever they call themselves now) yahoo dsl, and its free. launch is THE worst internet radio i have ever found... yes its customizable but only if you rate like 9123841231287824987987.34 bands. it assumes if you like classic rock that you automatically like any band that some idiot classified as classic rock. most of them suck. i finally have mine to where it very rarely plays something i dont like, but it took forever i like purevolume.com, but its not internet radio its just streaming mp3s that individual bands put up

oh and for some reason i never understood, fans always seemed to like promo pics better than logos.... like take a pic of the band members, but no one could be looking at the camera, take the pic upside down, or in an abandoned building, etc. i always thought it was dumb, and we never did it, but one time before we left for a show, our guitarists g/f took a pic of us standing in front of his car and we put it on the site as a joke, and less than a week later it was the most downloaded pic on the entire site, out of hundreds of stl bands

if you are serious about promoting your band, i suggest using free promotion websites such as purevolume and myspace. most of them will even let you host mp3s for free. a website helps a little, but we always got more hits on our myspace site and stlpunk(the local band site for st louis). as for a logo, i never was artistically talented or even creative for that matter

indie stands for independent... and was most likely created out of hate. "indie" bands hated the fact that radio bands made music solely to make money and not because they were conveying thier own feelings... bands like bright eyes and death cab are the so-called "indie" bands because they dont have their record label hounding them to make radio hits... at least that was the definition i heard, i dont really know, because i dont really believe in genre labels

Bah, I think the version I heard is better: None: they just sit in the dark and cry :P the punk one is the funniest of all the music related ones.. how many punks does it take to change a lightbulb? 3, one to change it, one to declare how punk it is, and the last to call it a poser

ok ok i can understand the rest of this, but as i've been in a band and recorded a cd and played shows locally, i know just how hard it is to sell cds. i had pretty much the same outlook on music until i actually played in a band. after playing a couple live shows i got a whole new respect for almost every type of music. and dont think that we were just some crappy band playing in my basement(well, we were for awhile), we actually played at respected clubs in st. louis such as mississippi nights and the hard rock cafe, and had a decent fan base when we all went to college. we sold cds, but not as many as i would have liked to. anyway, there are a couple different ways to look at music, and for me, i think all of them are bs. 2 types of music - good and bad : not really as some people may have different opinions, for some reason people still buy britney spears cds... genres(emo, rock, indie, ska) : yeah this is more like it, closer anyway, but most bands fall somewhere inbetween. in my opinion, its more like either its music or its not. as much as you hate to admit it, FFTL *does* play music. you banging on a cymbal and screaming incoherently, however, is just noise. anyway back on topic. yes i've heard FFTL, but i think scary kids scaring kids, and eighteen visions are much better in thier "genre" of music, whatever you care to call it.

rush is probably the most underrated band...... ever. they are amazing. im watching rush in rio right now and it blows my mind. basically here are some good bands that i like(sticking with your "rock" preference, which is kinda general) Rush Metallica Iron Maiden Rise Against Guns N Roses Letter Kills Queensryche Scorpions Thrice (i didnt like any of thier cds at first, but the more i listened to them the more i liked it)

yeah my roommate likes them and i have to say some of their stuff is pretty good. i dont like really heavy metal that much, metallica is about as far as i go there, but i do like avenged sevenfold and some heavier stuff.
