Dithering vs. Normal Shadow
Dithering can potentially improve your piece, however considering this would be your first attempt at it, it would probably be detrimental. I suggest you just shade it normally for the time being.

~JAZZ~
Pretty rad, though I think the background could be reworked, and also the spotlight doesn't seem to have the brightness one would expect from a light. And yes, I am going to send you a bomb in the mail, which will kill you, or perhaps just burn your eyebrows off and burn your nose, then you'll have a big blister or something there and look like a doofus for a week or two. Can't wait to see what the censor makes of that ;P

Attention peoples ;@
I know this is the wrong forum, but I'd like to bring something to your attention. Everything is turning leet. Seriously, type a sentence! >_< Thanks for your time.

Your circuit's dead, is there something wrong? @@Update@!!!
That's alright with me ;P As to what the swirl thing is.. I remember drawing it, just not why, and what is was. Thanks for the crits peoples. HOLY CRAP, WHY IS EVERYTHING COMING UP IN LEETSPEAKS?

Purple face...
Smaller eyes, more connected nose, less visible cheekbones, better lips, and plenty more >_< There's plenty of pictures of people's faces on the net that you could use for ref ;P

Thanks for the comments everyone. When I get some time I'll deal with that critique ;P

Your circuit's dead, is there something wrong? @@Update@!!!
Layered colours like one would draw a fire, then dithered. Also, the intense light would mean only the brightest stars would be able to remain seen, and the comet looks cool burning up. :P I'll probably redo the bg, I think it's clear I spent about five minutes on it >_<

Your circuit's dead, is there something wrong? @@Update@!!!
Well, took me a few hours, but I finally finished it. Perhaps it's not really a comet, and just the aftermath of Major Tom's exploits in space. ;O Crits please. Edit: Now that I look at the clock, it took me less then an hour all up.. Sure felt like more ;O Edit time ;@ Just did a silly 15 minute portrait to get used to coloured pencils again... Bad anatomy and perspective. Not my best shading either. Guess that happens when you draw from your Kahrazey mind D: Also, Faber Castell coloured pencils kick quite the backside :D Crits please

Really, if you develop your ability enough, you will get noticed. I'm not too sure about in the UK, but here your level of education will not present a problem if you want to go to an art school, what they look for is talent, potential, and a solid student. ;P

Firts mspaint pixell (UPDATUMS)
Haha. ;P It's a runescape forum! If anything, on here I encourage scrutiny when it comes to artworks. It's not like tipit's lacking the occasional rippers and liars. >_< When I get some inspiration I'll put some real effort into a piece..

Firts mspaint pixell (UPDATUMS)
I googled trees to see the basic shape, however the detail and shape is sketched. I might practice some leaves. I just got bored when I was fiddling around with the trunk. Edit: Terley, I made it appear to lean because I thought it looked too uniform >_<
-
Firts mspaint pixell (UPDATUMS)
Geez, the tree isn't even that good. I'll do something better and show you the stages if you aren't satisfied.

Rate my pixel Sig
Maybe try the arm that kind of pose. Sorry about the bad anatomy D: Tried to keep the whole hand perspective thing going ;O

Firts mspaint pixell (UPDATUMS)
I definately made it. Proof enough? Also, it was just some crap I was messing around with to make a point.

Firts mspaint pixell (UPDATUMS)

Starting off small. ---------- I spend 10 hour so plz dont b meen :( Edit: Redid the trunk, old one looked too messy. Seriously though, these first pixel topics are killing me, also feel free to be mean ;P Edit, kinda' fiddled around with my avvy.

OH NO! ANOTHER ANIMATED AVATAR!
On the final frames, the bag swings, but becomes instantly stationary at the restart. Kinda' bugging me.

72 new mini pixels and mini font. UPDATE 37! (21-07-07)
What kind of stone? Anyways, I think you should put more time into your pieces. You have progressed, but the simplicity still remains (not necessarily a good thing). Perhaps you could sketch out something extravagant, then pixel it, just to see the results. Experiment man.

Battle of the Pixelers [cancelled]
I finished, but because I don't have my own computer to use at the moment, I couldn't make the deadline. I know it's unfair to other competitors, but can I enter my piece late? Not typing this on a computer btw.

Battle of the Pixelers [cancelled]
Ooh, rad! Can I participate? ;O Perhaps this will motivate me to finish something. ;P

72 new mini pixels and mini font. UPDATE 37! (21-07-07)
I think if you're going to do it like that, you should not use outlines to define things like the nose. Also you should define everything first before you start to dither. Detail could get a big more extreme ;P

Latest WIP pixel. Finishedededed?
Bigger feet please. It's very nice apart from that ;P

Best Pixel I've Started (WIP)
Haha Ter, great critique. Just a few things to add. When creating metallic textures, large, bright highlights and fast changes from light to dark and key (hue shifts also help make it look more realistic, but this is pretty much covered). Unfortunately Ter didn't show this in his "edit". D: Dithering can also be handy when using limited palletes, when you want to convey more colours then you have avaliable *points to helm's piece* and to create textures when you don't have highlights and dark colours to work with. Anatomy is probably something you should sketch out first if you're doing a small piece, so you don't get stuck adjusting five pixels for half an hour. Choose a lightsource before you start shading. at the moment you've just got 'silly' shading. You piece doesn't use shading to show form and depth. Study Ter's and Helm's stuff, and see how the lighting works in it. Lol at the missing hands. I see how it is. ;P
