  1. GAH! You claim the late 50s produced catchy songs and unique singers? What about 65-85. Possibly the decades most heavily littered with brilliant artists and catchy songs. Also Bubsa, what's with all the Red Dwarf colloquialisms. @_@ Edit: Don't want to derail this thread. I think this "Mika" has some talent. (I'm not aware of whether or not Mika is a person, or band. I haven't actually seen any videos.) Mika's stuff is a bit deviated, and I thinks Mika's songs are pretty easy listening. :D
  2. I have five @_@ Oh, You pretty things - David Bowie My Brave Face - Paul McCartney (by far his best song ;D) Charlie - Split Enz Shock the Monkey - Peter Gabriel and of course Zak and Sara - Ben Folds.
  3. ^Nice change of pace ;P Girls talk - Dave Edmunds Super rad song ;D
  4. My entry. "Iceberg [garden tool]!" ;P Also, xxxshade's piece is pretty much a direct copy of Godslayer's piece:
  5. Contrary to the above poster, many lineworks used in pixels have originally been sketched on a tablet, then cleaned up pixel by pixel, for use as a standard pixel linework. I don't actually use this method, but I can tell you that it is far more effective than scanning from something you drew irl. @_@ Also, I would suggest a smallish wacom tablet. One that leaves plenty of room at your computer, but doesn't sacrifice ease of use. Just go to an electronics store and try one out with just a pen, and see if it seems suitable. I'd suggest painter, or photoshop for digipainting, for almost anything tablet related. How well can you actually use a mouse? Does it feel like it is an extension of your body, much like a pencil? If not, a tablet is a far better option for accuracy and much easier to use. Also, must tablets have cool functions, inparticular the level of pressure correllating to the size and/or darkness of lines. ;D There's no steep learning curve involved with them. Usually it takes a while to learn to use all the pen and tablet's functions. Give it a week, and you'll be perfectly competent. Makes me wish I had my old tablet back D:
  6. 1.2 planets. Most of the points are because I live in central Sydney and I have four people in my family. Riding my bike/blading everywhere, and being a vegetarian seems to be footprint friendly ;P
  7. Falling into a campfire and having my shin catch fire after I used my acrobatic steeze to avoid further burns, ranks pretty highly.. Getting my nads smushed by a sharp rusty rail when I was doing fishbrains comes in second. No lasting damage. THANK GOODNESS. But the worst would have to be having my finger (always the same one it would seem) broken countless times. We're talking double digits here people @_@. Also blading related D: .
  8. Nice job with that piece. I can never seem to get any motivation. I'm just stuck messing about with crayons (crayola of course ;P) in my sketchbooks. I've done some pretty rad stuff, but wax doesn't scan well. >_< But this is your thread lol. @_@ Very nice stuff you have here, but I suggest adding minor aa between your shades with the colours you already have, just to add smoothness without losing sharpness. ;D Just want to add that I like how you're using your palettes effectively throughout your pieces. Though you could look at more nude people to get a better grip on anatomy. ;P
  9. Could you post refs? ;P Also, if you want the lips to look more protuding and curved, you'll need to define the light better and use lots of contrast to define certain parts ;@
  10. He looks like a dwarf because of his large features, and small, stubby head. Also his thick neck contributes to it ;@
  11. I completely understand about the NSW hospital stuff man ;P When I 'fell' into a campfire, I went to the hospital (only after spending an extra day with minimal treatment... Stupid lazy schoolteachers). I asked the nurse who was treating me if I could pick off my own dead skin because she seem to be enjoying it too much, so she let me. Afterwards we took photographs of us smiling next to my burnt shin. Lol. ;P I understand that very few people here will understand this, but falling into a campfire and severely burning my right shin was perhaps one of the greatest and most profound experiences of my life. Don't get me wrong, heaps of rad stuff comes my way, it was just a great thing. @_@
  12. Ew. Don't workout traps man, just let do short exercises at home for those ;@ If you have enough time on your hands, I suggest doing less routine exercises, which are less stressful on specific parts of your body. I do 5+ hours of intense exercise daily, but I need no time to recover. (Unless of course I bail when I'm blading >_<). Oh, and I wouldn't want to get too far into building muscle mass. Just keep them nicely toned. You don't want biceps bigger then your head. Unless you are a guido, of course. ;D
  13. Well, it needs a larger ears, further back on its head. Also the shoulders need to be wider. >_<
  14. Personally I prefer the sharper pixelart look, but I see what you were trying to articulate ;D I like the speedlines (tail) on the comet >_< HATE the box around my name ;P I think I might just move onto a more straightforward, planned out seen. Just consider this practice.
  15. Hiya B2D, remember me? ;O Anyways, for the pixel, I think you should be using more contrast, and better use of shades, for the little extra realism. Some AA would be nice too, and easily achievable with the colours in your palette. I wish I could edit this, but thar be a sample D:
  16. I know about that, but it would get less attention from other users. You were the one who gave the ok for that thread, of course you know about it ;P Just informing other users, sorry for any confusion >_<
  17. Heya Woop, If you want to discuss photography, go to: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=596 ... b86db3f819 Nice photos, and I agree that the site layout works well.
  18. Anatomy good? Right... They both need heavy improvement in terms of contrast, anatomy, composition and shading. >_<
  19. So where do the batteries go?
  20. I've only been taught by simple observation ;P Also, I'm not satisfied because I know I'm capable of better things, y'know. >_<
  21. Update ;@ Note: The portrait was done in black pencil, not graphite, so I couldn't erase stuff D: Also the thing irl is only about 15x10 cms <_< Sorry for having to look at closeups of my handiworks D:
  22. I suggest you post your monitor resolution before people become fussed about invalid entries and such. >_
  23. Pssh, you newbs post too much!@ Excluding Darrel ;O Nice sig, and congratulations >_< Any ambitions? 2,000? 5,000? The almighty 10,000?
  24. Yes, technically is superb, but I feel that it's potential humour is being missed D:
