  1. I was debating on black or red when I made the request. >< Hugs all around!
  2. Mind if I make another adjustment? I'd like it to be red now... because it may be hard to make the salamander black and still visible over the background. :P I'm so sorry about changing my mind so often. XD

I'm not too big with the abstract/render side of The Gallery, so I'm in no position to be giving c/c, but you'll find that even with first-ever sigs, people here can be a little harsh (but we love them for it after a while because it really does help). It does say on the sticky not to post first sigs. :|
  4. Alrighty, I've been meaning to get around to this post but I keep getting sidetracked. >< Your latest update is much better, much easier on the eyes than the original. There are still quite a few iffy bits, but overall not too shabby for a first signature. Linework is clean (especially the stuff to the left). Now, onto the c/c. :D Perspective: - The rightmost wall is on a very odd angle; well, it seems like it's on an odd angle. The rather bland uniformity of the bricks on the right wall actually hurt my eyes if I look at it too long - do something to break the eternal lines! - The amulet is out of proportion to the rest of the things on the wall. At the moment it looks like it's about as big as that rune axe next to it (that is one massive amulet). Colours: - Thank you for not using default colours. - You need to throw in a bit more shading into the entire pixel. Everything looks very flat at the moment, and, well, boring to be honest. You have your light source - the window and the sun through the window, and perhaps another light source in the room. Shade accordingly. - The shading on the hills outside the window is all wrong - it looks like there's a light source to the south of the hills, when the major light source (the sun) is being neglected. Switch the shading around on the hills so the dark bit is south-er and the light bit is toward the sun. Shading is pretty hard to get used to, but you can fit a lot more shading into the entire piece, like on the bricks and the rug and the ground. Check out a few tutorials (there's a whole list of them in the Gallery sticky) and learn from them. :) Good luck!
  5. That is seriously looking so very awesome I'd give you a hug if I could. I can't see much wrong with anatomy, to be honest. :D And, before you get started, could you just scratch the hat out of the equation? I like it the way it's going now. Thank you very much.
  6. Yay Junction! Kudos go to you. *offers kudos* Now where are the rest of you... :-k
  7. My vote goes to Metroid again. :
  8. Oh noes! :( How many pixels were entered? 3, and they have untill the next time i log on. Ouch. That actually stinks. :( (and there I was worrying that I'd cheat Garrgoyle out of a real battle if I didn't get my piece in on time. ><)
  9. Oh noes! :( How many pixels were entered?
  10. Try reading the quest journal thing for Shield of Arrav, that should tell you which gang you're in. :) Good luck!
  11. Plant cure does not work on trees, you'll need Secateurs. :)
  12. Not a problem, happens to all of us. :) It doesn't have to be too big, to be honest. 450x250 is fine. :D
  13. You could always barrow with Veracs, as it has a prayer bonus and ignores the defence of the brothers' armour sometimes, though admittedly I havn't done it myself. Can't really think of anything else. :-k
  14. (I've posted this sort of thing in another topic, but I'll post it in different words here for arguement's sake. ) I absolutely love farming - every time someone says "selling seeds" I have to go and see what they're selling. Call me an impulsive buyer (I am a girl, after all... ;)), but farming is one of my favourite skills simply because, like Hiimben said, it gives cheap herbs and exp without very much effort on your part. It's also one heck of a moneymaker after a while. I farmed 2m of ranarrs - a few weeks later, bang! That 2m turned into 7m. I also got everything else I needed to do done in those weeks - a few combat levels here and there, a few thousand yew longs fletched, a few thousand nats runecrafted, and so on. All I had to do was plant one ranarr seed in each of the five patches, go and do something else for an hour, then go back, harvest and replant. Tell me, when was turning 2m into 7m (and then some) 'useless'? Elise brings up a good point also - you actually sit there and wait for your crops to go? No wonder you hate it. I'd hate it myself if I did that, but I don't, so I like it, because whilst I'm out there slaying Fire Giants and getting combat levels, d meds (not that I've gotten one  ), etc etc, my little ranarr seeds are doubling my money. And... heh. I don't think farming is supposed to be 'funny' or 'happy' as you said in your first post. I mean, when was cutting logs with a knife 'funny' and killing monsters for other people 'happy'? EDIT: And Ice is right - this seems more rant-like. :-k
  15. Hey there. :) It doesn't look like you've put too much effort into that sig, to be honest. You've used the default colours provided by Paint, which is a big no no as at the moment my eyes are being burnt out of my sockets by that green. :P Good job on not saving it as a .jpeg though. :) Kudos go to you for that. JPEGs ruin the quality of pixels, so for future reference, don't ever save pixels in JPEG. They work with other graphics, but not with pixels. Have you taken a look at some guides? There's quite a few good hints and guide links in this sticky, like Terley's guide, or maybe DementedHero's guide. Take some time to read through those guides - if you read and understand them, you'll get better. :) Good luck!
  16. From personal experience, when time you "Check-Health" on a willow tree, there are no branches. I don't know the exact time, but I'm guessing around 10-15 minutes for one branch (probably wrong. :-$ ) My suggestion is to pick the maximum 6 branches one day, go off and do something else, then the next day pick up the last 6. Prevents you from doing what I did - checking back there every five minutes and getting frustrated when there wasn't any. #-o

Ouch, ranging. >< Painful skill, really, especially in the earlier levels. I used Experiments, the ones you can find during the Creature of Fenkenstrain quest. Went from 23 or something to 40 there reasonably quickly. Or, even better choice, try the Minotaurs in the first level of the Stronghold of Security, as (so everyone says) they drop tons of iron arrows that can easily replace the ones you use. Good luck. :)
  18. There's a shop in Relekka that sells them (I think it's the one where you can buy Fremmenik helms), but Rune Warhammers are never in stock. It's one of those eternally 0-stocked items... It's a little depressing. -_-
  19. To be honest, the only time Farming is boring is when people actually sit there waiting for their crops to grow. Farming is quite likely the only thing you can fully multitask in. You plant the crops/herbs/trees, you go off and do something else for an hour or so and come back and check it. If it dies, it dies, just plant a new one - it's likely you've got a few hundred seeds in your bank anyway. You don't sit there watching that Spirit Tree grow. #-o My skill I can't stand training is Mining, for the sole reason that I have a very low attention span for such repetitive clicking, and you actually have to pay attention to the screen whilst your character does something mind-numbingly similar every... single... time. And Construction, I'm too much of a cheapskate to train it and watch a few million go down the drain every five levels or so. :ohnoes:
  20. Ironic, isn't it? :-# I think it's because, at the beginning of the competition, it was still very much into the Christmas holidays, so most people had quite a bit of time to devote to pixelling. Now, most people have school. And, not to mention, it was a pretty difficult to figure out something unique from this pixel. :P Fingers crossed for an easier topic next round, should I get past this one. >< I did manage to send mine in though, so whoo. \
  21. Oh, bugger, is it? I don't know what timezone MDH is talking about in the first post. >< Better put some work into it. *scrambles*
  22. *runs around in circles* Two days, two days, two days!! :ohnoes: I think it's another mad scramble for me. >< This is such a hard topic to think of something remotely original from. :uhh: *gets started on a less-than-original idea*
  23. Nice. ^^ I'm rather lacking in the graphics program department (just Paint and that sort for me. :P), otherwise I'd be doing this sort of thing too. ;_; Forelegs... Maybe have them crossed, one over the top of the other, on top of the pile of runes (either left or right leg on top, whatever looks more natural. :P). Thanks. :D
  24. Oh, wow. *applauds* They look great. :D I'd like to request an image of a black salamander wearing a Robin Hood hat, with forelegs sitting on top of a pile of nature runes. The salamander has a pose which is reasonably dignified, even regal, so maybe have the neck arched back a little to give it that sort of look. I don't mind if there's a background or not as a black background is perfectly fine to me. :) Thank you very much, those images are awesome. ^^ (and if I could ask a few questions, what program do you use? Photoshop CS2?)

Amazing. I won't say anything that's already been said, but I really do love it. And ditto to Nadril and Trip, I'd love a new wallpaper, please, Metroid. You're my ultimate landscape hero.
