Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Thank you so, so, so, so, so so so very much for the text position, Shadow. And errm... I have no idea what was with the white spot. o_o Fixed it up in the current version. *points to siggeh* Thanks. :D

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Excellent. I thought I might try converting it into .gif because I only used 117 colours... and yays, it didn't muck it up! I'm happy now, I finally have a signature. ^^ Thanks to everyone. :D

Battle of the Pixelers [cancelled]
It's not so much spam as idle chatter in order to occupy ourselves till the theme comes out... :-w Yes, I did save it as .png, and yeah, it was 50kb there. :| I think I've managed to cut it down, if you could kindly check my topic. :P Have fun at the party, Shadow. :P Beesafree, I'm sorry about your grandfather. :( My thoughts are with you and your family.

Hmm... Can you tell any difference in quality between these two versions?

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Thanks everyone for the extra c/c and compliments. :D I've touched up the pixel according to advice. I got lazy with the border. :| Don't eat me about it. >< I have no idea where to put the text - in my latest update the left side seems really empty now. :-k This pixel is not text friendly. Also, it's 50+ kb at the moment. :| Anyone know how to downsize it without losing quality?

Battle of the Pixelers [cancelled]
North Island, Shadow. ^^ I've never been in Aussie proper - only as a stopover to other countries. :( Always wanted to go there for a holiday or something. :P It's been just under 19 hours now. Lousy Americans and their one-day-behind-ness. ;) I'll occupy myself till the theme is announced by touching up my pixel. It's too big though - 50-something kb. :|

You're not the only one, Shadow... 'cept it's been 17 hours. :|

MY VERY FIRST PIXEL SIGS...CC PLEASE
'ello there. :) To be honest, it's actually not too bad for a first. You've tried to add a little depth using shadows. Kudos for that. :) The anatomy isn't half bad, at least they look like people. o_o As you might expect from the first couple of sigs, there's quite a bit to improve on, but with time, practise and listening and taking onboard comments and critiscism (c/c), you'll get much better. :) Even though the figures are recognisable as human beings and not blobs of colour, you do indeed need to work on anatomy a bit (the link that Megadedhead provided up there is a good place to look), as the archer in Sig 1 has a very boneless right arm. :P The alignment of some things are also kind of iffy, like the person in monks robes in Sig 1 looks a little like you squashed him down, whilst the tree in Sig 2 looks like it's about to fall over. :P You also need to add some serious shading to your pixels. I can see you've shaded the ground a bit in both sigs (the grass colour gets darker as it goes farther from the light source - the moon), but at the moment everything looks kind of flat, like pieces of paper that were sort of just stuck there. You should start by taking onboard a few of the basics of pixelling, which is what I sorta outlined up there - anatomy, perspective, shading. All the complicated stuff will come in time. :) Also, make use of what's available here in The Gallery, because they are most definitely a great help. Terley's pixel guide is a good start, but there are many others available in the Gallery announcement topic. Good luck, and have fun pixelling. ^^

Final Fantasy
asdcjhlwkjcnskojdcsdfinalfantasyeeee. Sorry, bit of a fangirl here. o_o To be honest, I never got into FFX (probably because I was playing it at a friend's house instead of owning it myself... :-w), but the graphics were very cool when I did play it. :P I've only properly played three of the PS FFs - them being VII (just finished, excellent storyline, that one), VIII (first one I played, great storyline as well, big graphics jump from VII), and IX (the only one I own, and my favourite. ^^). I'll suggest VIII or IX. Both great games and I don't really think there's too much of a steep learning curve to play them. Quite an easy game to get a hang of. VIII has realistic graphics and a very good storyline (the first FMV is one of my favourites. ^^), and IX has more of the older FF character styles (kinda deformed), but good graphics nonetheless and easy to play - though the ending sometimes leaves you with a "... huh?". So yeah. Yay Final Fantasy. ^^

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Cheers for that, Beesafree, I've been looking for a fire reference pic that fit what I wanted. :D Saved me a whole lot of trouble. Well, everyone, I think I've finished up with this piece. Quite proud of myself, actually. :D Here it is, in all it's fiery glory... Once again, I spot iffy bits a little too late. XD The fire at the salamander's throat looks a little weird, must fix that up (maybe if I make the fire 'darker' there?). Don't ask what's in the tent... I had no idea what to put there so I just placed vague shapes that could be interpreted as some camping gear and dithered it so it looked like it was in a dark place. XD My last request of all of you: comments and c/c on the finished pixel. Thanks again. :D

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
alksjbckjbnleiubcksjdbkfjhsdfsdf. I can't believe I didn't see the C/C up there. X_X I only saw Tripsis' (grats on mod-ness. ^^) and Fortress' comments. Eeek. Thanks, PJB and Shadow, you both get cookies. ^^ I'll try to fix up the stuff pointed out. :) Cheers. It's possible that my next update will be the second-to-last one - next update will just be finishing up what's in the tent and the fire (and the stuff pointed out by PJB and Shadow), and the last one will likely be just fixing up whatever's C/C'd in the previous one. Thanks everyone for your support - I think I'm finally finishing a sig! :D

Battle of the Pixelers [cancelled]
Oh, mate, I'm excited now. XD Wonder if I can quickly finish up my salamander piece before the 15th. I'm getting bored with it anywhoo. :P

L337 xmas pixel [update #5]- bg linework almost done
Update is much better, in my opinion, but the deers look sort of cloned (not accusing you of copy+paste, but their poses are very similar). Maybe if you could have one of them doing something different by making their head either thrown backwards or leaning forwards. My other nitpick is possibly the straps - they don't quite look right... once again I don't really know how to explain it. >< Keep it up. :)

What the heck am I doing... Count me in. o_o

Well. Check me out, doing the signature thing. [Gallery]
Yay, Vincent. ^^ I like that one better than the rest... although the left side of the sig could use something to break the blank black. Don't know what though, I'm afraid, because I don't make abstracts... you'll want to wait for the other guys. :P You're definitely improving though, keep it up. :D

72 new mini pixels and mini font. UPDATE 37! (21-07-07)
Good avvy, your latest one. I like stuff with meanings behind them and that has quite a lot of symbolism. Only crit I would have is to maybe contrast the cross and the baby in linen a little more from the background as it's a little difficult to pick it out at first. Good job, mate. :D

.::A Different Sort of Pixel Sig::.
Oh, wow, Jab, I haven't seen you around here in way too long (you probably don't remember me 'cause I was just a lurker back then... o_o). Loving the sig so far, though, can't wait to see it finished. Original idea, excellent shading on the Balrog-esque thing. Kudos to you. :D

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Major apologies for the overdue update - been terribly busy with ingame stuff (stupid treasure trails) and RL stuff (auditions for a musical... :o Hope I get in. :D), and just general lack of interest in anything artistic. But here it is... As you can see I did a little bit, put up the trees in the background (not too impressive, I know... sorry to disappoint you, if you're disappointed. X_X). Will probably redo the trees again because I'm not too happy about them either. More cookies go to PJB for the C/C - I haven't gotten around to fixing up some of the bits (those footprints are evil, evil, I tell you), like what's happening in the tent, and now that I look at it again the hair isn't separated from the trees in the background. OK, as I keep looking at it, I'm really not too happy with the trees. Any suggestions to help their detail, shading, etc, is greatly appreciated, as well as any suggestions as to what to stick into the tent. Once again, thanks for looking at my work, and sorry for the late update. :P

New avvy. better or worse? [updated]
Oooh, I am in love with your animal pixels, Shadow. Always turn out so prettyful. ^^ To be honest, I like your current one a little more - something about the shadow and the colours. That's not to say this one is bad; it's an excellent piece of pixel art. ^^ I've got something nagging me about this piece though, but I can't quite put my finger on it yet. I'll post again if I figure it out. Good job. :D

:: A question to sig makers :: (Concerns pixelers mostly)
1) Indeed, if I had the motivation to actually finish signatures within a reasonable time frame that doesn't span months, then I would offer signature-sized pixels for free. Sadly, I tend to lose interest in pixels and drop them after a few weeks, and I don't particularly want to do that to someone who I promised a pixel to. So... it's a sort of a yes/no answer. :| 2) Technically I kind of said yes, so I'll answer this too. :P If I make a pixel for someone else, it has and always will be free because it is against JaGEx's rules to sell them for ingame GP. I ain't risking my account, because I'm paranoid like that, and because as a player mod I'm going to have to abide to the rules I help enforce. 3) N/A. I'm terrible at everything else. :D 4) I'm interested, but I'm not too familiar with the procedures of the pixel sig collabs, so if it's too big a part I have to contribute to, again, I don't want to have to commit myself to something big if I'm going to drop it halfway through. :| 5) Oooh, this is a hard one as I've only just recently been active-ish in the Gallery and sort of only drop by once in a while at the Art Bazaar. From what I've seen, though, the veterans of the Gallery (and digital art in general) are pretty welcoming and give some good quality c/c, whilst those who are 'less new' to the Gallery and have decent graphics skills tend to be very critical of those who are just beginning pixelling or abstract-ing, and give very little, if any, c/c at all. The Gallery is never boring if there are new works to take a look at - I quite enjoy loitering in other people's topics as watching the progress is fun in its own right. The Art Gallery, as I've said before, I have comparatively less experience in than in the Gallery. Judging from the few times I've been there, it seems to be packed with those who want signatures (pixels in particular), and none of their requests are being fufilled, so it feels a little... neglected?... as a forum. 6) Nadril's pretty much summed it up in his answer to Q5, but I'll reiterate here as I'm bored and don't really have much motivation to do much else. >< The quality has indeed dropped a little since JaGEx banned signature selling. I think this is because those artists (pixellers in particular) who were quite promising and constantly produced high-quality work and were willing to learn from the c/c have left the Gallery, as they see no profit or reward from creating signatures anymore. Of course, there are always those excellent signature makers that are still here, and I take off my hat to them. Hope that helped. :P

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
Well, if you look, the darkest shade on the 'dark' grass is actually the middle grass shade in the shadowed grass under the salamander. :D I just replaced the colours, really. I've put off lunch for long enough, must eat... Hungry. ;_;

|\/\/| Finished! page 1
Well, I've put off my reply to this for long enough (not as if it's any different to everyone elses... XD), but... alkhjxlcnierhltjsdlfvndfohakjehrkasndfasdc. I envy your sheer talent. I always enjoy your work (whenever I see a new |\/\/|, I get so excited. :P), and this is no exception. Colouring is spiffing, and the anime-ish style is great as well. Are the characters based on anything, or did you create them specifically for this piece?

Who Needs A Tinderbox? [Pixel - Completely Finished. =D]
*celebrates* I got the grass to look right in the latest UPDATE! Oh, man, I'm so relieved right now. You have no idea how much trouble I went through to get it right. Ignore the dark splotches to the left of the sig, as that's unfinished pawprints that I got too lazy to fix up for this update. I did not end up pixelling each individual strand of grass - just randomly spread them as PJB said earlier. Yes, I got lazy... >> I did edit the copies to make them flow into each other better though. Will touch up the grass that overlaps the other bits in the sigs next update and fix up the pawprints, and maybe make a start on the background. D3mon, the reason the fire looks like that is because it's not yet properly pixelled. ;) The lines are there to show me where the fire's path will go, and where the light source is coming from. In other, slightly unrelated news: I have cookies owing to people for C/C and such. :D - Cookie to Rik for the grass advice. ^^ I didn't end up using it, sadly, because like Vito pointed out, she's a-camping and that grass looks mowed-ish. (that's not to say that your grass is bad - it's excellent. :D) - Cookies go to Cool, Xman, PJB, Pomar, Kinslayer, Vito and D3mon for the support. Helped me get through the sheer terror that is pixelling grass. *shudders* And I still have bags of cookies - if you want some, C/C, plz. ;)
