im pretty happy with my alpine equipment in my car, good for the price you pay. And Blaupunkt - pretty good stuff. Nice to see that Mr 190 decibels hasn't bothered coming back to the topic, wonder why that is

Not yet dude, maybe in 2007 though. I definitely want to make snowboarding a yearly, if not twice yearly thing. This will be my third snowboarding trip, and i've done a total of 5 weeks skiing before i took up boarding. As i said to nik, i'm planning on having at least 1 week of boarding every year from now on, plus i'll hit artificial slopes here in the UK as and when i can. I've had hire gear before (obviously), and it is ok, but if i'm gonna be doing this as much as i want to, it's wiser to accumulate my own gear as i go along - it'll probably work out cheaper in the long run than paying ~̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã75 every time i want to hire boots and board.

I'm not sure. I prefer the game play in Most Wanted, but i don't like that they've taken out a lot of the customisation options that were in NFSU2, like changing front bumpers, rear bumpers, side skirts, exhausts, mirrors, adding neon etc. Overall though, the gameplay in MW is definitely better, and the game itself is harder - which is great.

Not necessarily, just the cheapest place to buy from the UK. Edit: Although i suppose it wouldn't hurt. The boots are my lowest priority because i probably won't buy my own boots/board until after this trip. If you want to advise on which jackets and goggles to buy, then feel free :)

Looks like a Ford Escort with a ridiculous spoiler. -
They're probably the most widely used instruments, but i find guitar to be a very versatile instrument. Just think of all the styles of music you can play with a guitar...

I'm planning a snowboarding trip for the 8th of January and i'm after some info from anyone who does snowboarding (or skiing). Basically i'm looking to buy a new jacket as mine is a bit dated and doesn't protect me from the snow too well anymore. I'm also after a pair of goggles. I'm in the UK so i was wondering if anyone knows of any cheap stores (preferably online) where i can pick up some gear. For anyone who's interested, i'm going to the resort of Pas De La Casa in Andorra. I went there last year with 3 mates and we had such a great time we decided to go again - it's described as Ibiza on snow due to all it's pubs, clubs and restaurants. Edit: I'm thinking of getting a pair of boots too - nothing too fancy, but it sure beats the hire equipment!

I see where you're coming from, i'm just so used to hearing the usual reaction of "oh that doesn't sound like old Metallica, so i hate it". Most people won't even give those albums a chance, and they can't appreciate that over the years bands change. I'm not saying it's their best work, but it is still good - even St Anger!
-
I prefer older Metallica, but i still like all of their more recent albums. I know a lot of metallica fans hate Load/Reload just because they don't sound like MOP, RTL etc, but i actually enjoy both albums.

http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/ptech/ ... ereo.kill/ Just a couple of extracts from that article. Pay attention to the bold parts: dB (as in decibel) drag racing is an obscure but growing international "sport" in which competitors go head-to-head for two or three seconds at a time -- hence the name drag racing -- to establish whose sound system is loudest. The 2002 record, set by a German team of secretive audio engineers, was 177.6 dB. Such noise would turn your brain to tofu if it weren't generated into uninhabited, tightly sealed space, such as the interior of a vintage Caravan. Competitors in the Extreme class bolt doors shut. Irving uses industrial jig clamps and a threaded one-inch steel rod and nut through the window for extra security. Drag racers replace windows and windshields with Plexiglas up to two inches thick, secure panels with turnbuckles fit for an America's Cup racer and, in some cases, fill the doors with concrete. Then, while the tone burst is generated, team members lie spread-eagled on the roof and push against the car from the outside to bolster it that little extra bit. One Extreme competitor in search of ultimate stiffness used an armored truck, so we can expect to see Iraq-campaign M1A1 Abrams tanks doing sonic smoky burnouts as soon as they're declared surplus. So what you're saying is your stereo is louder than a system built by a team of German audio engineers, who had to completely modify the whole car just to stop it from falling apart when they turned the volume up? To quote the film 'Super Troopers': "I'll believe that when my * turns purple, and smells like rainbow sherbert". One thing that astounds me about topics like these, is that people seem to have so many thousands of pounds/dollars worth of equipment, but they never have any pictures of the car. What a surprise.

I think i've pretty much planned my future out. 5 years ago my parents bought a Metro Rod franchise (basically a business that performs drainage maintenance, surveys and clearing), which myself and my brother are now involved in. I've been working for the company for about 15 months now and i've seen it grow from a 5 person business (myself and my mum in the office, my dad, brother and 1 other person on the road), to 9 people (my sister in law helps with advertising, and we have 3 more guys out on the road). In that time i've also seen the monthly figures grow consistently, and i now know that if the business is pushed in the right direction and people work hard, it could provide a very good future for me and my family :) Business wise, that's pretty much it. Aside from that, i like to keep my options open - i have no current plans to settle down and get married, although i am moving into a house on my own on the 9th of December.

You have got to be [bleep]ing kidding me.

I like Still Remains, except for the vocals. It's wierd because they didn't sound anything like that when i saw them live, but on the CD the vocals really get to me.

Hmmm, i read the title and was about to barrage the thread with a shedload of band names, then i read the bands that you already like and decided that none of them fit that style. I think Necromagus would probably be able to recommend a few though, i've seen those bands pop up on his 'now playing' script from time to time.

Lamb Of God w/ Devildriver in December. Saw LoG earlier in the year and they were among the best live bands i've ever seen.
-
I doubt i'll get it. For me, Korn haven't released anything decent since Issues.

Don't know if they've been mentioned but here are some good covers Deftones - Simple Man (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Jonny Cash - Hurt (Nine Inch Nails Metallica - Whisky In The Jar (Thin Lizzy) A Perfect Circle - Imagine (John Lennon) Korn - Word Up (Cameo) Pantera - Cat Scratch Fever (Ted Nugent) Rage Against The Machine - How I Could Just Kill A Man (Cypress Hill) Sepultura - Bullet The Blue Sky - (U2) Other than that, pretty much anything Hendrix ever covered.
